Alright, well I had to post this because Christmas is a special time for most of us and we usually have some kind of tradition. So what is it that makes your christmas special for you and your family every year?

For me it's having literally every member of my family in the one place, it is the only time of year that it happens. Everyone comes to my house on Christmas night, we all gather round the tele in my sitting room which is tiny and watch the xmas episode of Eastenders! it's stupid but I look forward to it all year. Then my Mam and my aunts will make sanwhiches with the left over turkey and ham, while my uncles tell all the younger children stories about when they were young, there always the same stories but who cares! and then everyone gets drunk we end up singing until about 4 in the morning. I love it, it's my favourite night of the year.

Most of our traditions involve decorating the tree. That night, right before we place the ornaments on the tree, we have cinnamon toast and hot chocolate when we put up the tree. It's nice. Also, we have ornaments that are like little time capsules. You write down your goals and memories and stuff like that on a slip of paper and stick it inside the ornament. When we get to those ornaments, we read last year's time capsule thing aloud. It sounds cheesy, but it's actually kind of cute. We also have certain ornaments that we each put up every year. For instance, we have a "Jake" ornament. That's the name of the family dog from when I was a kid. Anyway, I put up the Jake ornament every year. My sister puts out the nativity. My mom does the Santa Claus. My dad does the tree topper.
Aww... Palabra is now sort of sad that she's not home for Christmas. But my family is coming to my home for Christmas, this year, so maybe we'll start our own tradition. Last year, my hubby and I started the tradition of Christmas at the beach. 🙂

Christmas day was always a me and my Mom thing. I mean it used to be me, my Mom and my Grandmother- but then my Grandmom passed away a long time ago and it just ended up being me and my Mom. Which at first was very sad, yes, but just the two of us kinda became Christmas in my teens like 16 onwards and it started a new tradition, while Christmas with my grandmother was my childhood. But we always had a christmas buffet instead of dinner because no one ever wanted to be in the kitchen all day. So there'd be wine and those little bacon and cheese roll things and numerous other pick-a-food that we'd pile onto a plate and munch on while cosying up on the sofa or whatever. It was nice. I guess things go full circle now though huh? As it's me and hubby at my house with Mom visiting us.
Boxing Day was always the family day for us, where everyone always got together and had the big dinner/buffet thing. It was always at my Aunt's and this year is going to be no exception. I love Boxing Day, with everyone being together it's kind of like Christmas Day for me. I'm a family oriented person and I love us all being together, even if it's just for that one day. Okay, I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. It gives me that feeling- you know that excited warm one inside that you always seemed to have as a child at Christmas but you only remember it once you no longer have it? Once you've grown up? It's strange. Guess it's like that song though? 'Aren't we all children Christmas Day?'

My background is Hungarian so we have a tradition...naturally. On Christmas Eve my parents used to take us out. Normally my dad too us and my mom stayed home. My dad would take us wherever...store, movies..and when we would come home that night, around dinner time, Santa would have visited. My mom would say..I was doing my hair I didn't even hear him come, or something like that. We fell for it everytime of course. Then we would eat dinner, open the stockings and then we had to wait until after dessert to open the gifts. Dinner was always a huge one, consisting of Hungarian meals ie, hungarian cabbage rolls (which I will be making for the first time this year). Then dessert was whatever mom made. Then we had to wait a few more minutes and then we did gifts. My parents did the 1 at a time so the christmas would last longer. My dad usually played Santa. He would say...To: and then name one of us, and then From santa, or from mom and dad. And after one of us opened it up, it was time for the next. I loved it that way and I still carry on that tradition.
This is hopefully our last year without kids. I hope that by next year we will have added to our family with a bundle of joy. And then I can continue on with this tradition. My spouse does however want to do gifts christmas morning for our kids, which i am not used to. But I agreed. For now, it will still be on Christmas Eve tho.

Love Isn't Brains
We always go to my Grandma's house on Christmas Eve and have dinner. I always push for a game to play, but that doesn't always work. This year it's going to though! We're going to bring our Xbox and make everyone play Guitar Hero!
We then open presents, and my Aunt and I are the ones that pass them out. Nobody else is allowed to touch them. We all have our own little spaces to sit in too. Nobody is allowed to sit anywhere else! 🙂
After that, we always come home, but jammies on and then open presents again. We've never waited until Christmas Day. I don't know why. That's just what we've always done.

Okay, I'll go with christmas day traditions. I usually wake up about 5am, and open my stocking in my Mum and Dad's room, we wait a while 'cause my Grandma sleeps downstairs, but we eventually go down and open the other presents, then my family but the dinner on, and we spend the afternoon playing games and lookin' at our new stuff =]

The tradition in my family (other than the mega calorie intake of course) is that all of the presents we give to each other are opened on Christmas Eve. That way, the gifts left for the children by Santa are given the full attention they deserve (of course, we'rre all children at heart, aren't we? Last year, Santa brought me a new Swiss Army knife. This year, I'm hoping for a ping pong ball gun. Wanta come over to my house and play?)

Me I'll probably be doing the dance of joy over what I get from my birthday in a week lol. Then we'll probably put up the tree, go crazy buying things for everyone, watch atleast 10 Christmas movies, my favorite being I'll be home for Christmas. Then on Christmas Eve I'll wiggle my way into opening something I really want then the next day me and my family will probably hang out all day, watching movies, playing games, *and what we've gotten* then sit down to a dinner hopefully just us haha, but some other people will probably come or something ^_^ then I'll run up stairs and read all the Buffy comics I haven;t seen >.< or If I get them on my Birthday lol I guess they'll all already be read

Well every year that I spend Christmas with my mum, my Poppy dresses up as Santa and hands out everyones presents including my uncles' and aunts', and we have to sit on his lap to get a present and pose for photos. Every year since I was 4 I've gotten to dress up as his helper and hand out the presents with him, it's our special thing. Then after the presents we go around to my great aunt and uncle's house and play cricket in their massive backyard!!!
If I spend Christmas with my Dad (this year will be the first time since I was 8), we go to midnight mass with all my cousins etc, and then we all spend the night at my aunty's house, where she puts on a massive brekky etc, and then we go out water skiing, or for me tubing!!!
