What kind of computer do you have and how do you like it? I'm thinking about getting my wife a new laptop for Christmas, and I'm just trying to get some ideas. I have an old IBM Thinkpad T42 that I got off of Ebay that I really like. It's built like a tank, and small and light enough to be really convenient to carry anywhere. (Plus, as a refurbished business turn in, I got it for not very much money)

My computer and operating systems are far too embarrassingly antiquated (Compaq Deskpro EN Series, running on Windows 2K OS).....but I do enjoy them still.
I'm not one to jump to the latest technology fads as soon as they arrive in stores, which means that I hang on to older technologies for far too long. 😛

Still, I do plan eventually to upgrade......

I have a laptop from 2007, back when Vista was new to the market (those were the first laptops to have it as standart). It's a Medion, I'm pretty sure it's from Aldi, but I got it for my birthday, so who knows. It was pretty cool at the beginning, but now it's getting pretty slow to start and everything. Plus, Microsoft office has expired like 2 years ago. But I do like my laptop 🙂

I have an Acer Aspire 5735z! I only got it last year at a discount of 130 pounds! so I snapped it up. So far its been running great I have Windows Vista home basic running on it. I haven't had any problems with it. A nice little laptop.

I have a green dell Studio, which i adore!
It's quick and easy to work, which is all i wanted from a laptop, haha!

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1545; it's honestly not the best machine in the world (It crashes on me far too often, and more often than not refuses to let me save my coursework) but it does for me. All I really need it for is homework and internet browsing, so it does the trick. It's not all that fast, but it has a pretty decent memory and isn't easily scratched/marked, so it's all good.

I have Sony WAIO VGN-CR357 which is good. But the only problem is, I can't watch any Region 1 DVD with its disc drive even I tried to use ripper program and everything I can.

I heard that Toshiba laptop is the best, though. 🙂

I have a white MacBook. My uncle gave it to me last year. I love it. I'm definitely a Apple person. PCs are so complicated. They're expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. If you're a gamer, the PC is a better choice, but for people like me who just use their computer for fun/work, Mac's are perfect.

Me personally I own an older HP computer which runs excellent still and I love it so much.... so much better than dell in my opinion I mean I definately want to get a new one soon because like I said its an older model so I need an upgrade

My mom (which is the one i'm on now) is a Emachine... but again i'm very pleased with it because it runs well and has a gigantic harddrive 😀

I'm using an Apple Powerbook at the moment and when it's time to replace it I'll get a Macbook or an i-Mac or a Mac Mini...I can't see me ever going back to a PC. As mentioned above they're not great for gamers but for me it's brilliant. Takes a little getting used to but unlike Windows everything has a habit of just working without all those annoying hoops that Windows makes you jump through.

I use a sony viao laptop, couldn't tell you which model at the moment as I'm on my phone, but I do like it. I have never had any problems with my sony laptop but I am a huge apple fan and will eventually (when I get some money together) buy myself a macbook pro.

I have a white macbook. Perfect for work and just browsing the web. The only thing i don't like is the cd/dvd drive - though this might just be mine. For the disk to be read, the computer has to be on a flat surface, usually on my desk. It kind off takes the " lap " part out of the equation. I remember being on a long bus trip, just wanting to watch a movie, and it wouldn't play. Grrr.

I've had my Acer Laptop (Extensa 4620z) for about a year and a half now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I got it at Wal-Mart (of all places!) for $200 less than my first laptop had cost, and with a lot more features. It's speedy, got plenty of hard drive space and excellent performance. I'm running Windows Vista, and haven't had any problems with it either. I thought it was really user-friendly actually, haven't run into any bugs with it at all.

In my experience Acer is a pretty good brand, we're all computer nerds in my house and so far we haven't run into any troubles with an Acer machine 🙂

I have Pink Dell laptop, I've had it for a while now, i had an Acer one which was fine too 🙂
It's actually quite funny how my comp loads faster than my laptop! I use my comp most of the time, becuase it's hooked up to my plasma, so it's pretty big. I use my laptop if I'm down stairs, or in my grans house or w.e.

At home, I have about a 5-year old Dell Dimension 3000 desktop, running Windows XP, with a Pentium 2.8 Ghz, 512 MB of RAM, and a 60-gigabyte hard drive that is too small (my iPod has a bigger hard drive).

At work I use an iMac. I like the iMac better. I was considering buying one for my next home computer, but they're pretty expensive and none of my PC software would run on it.

Mine is a Dell Inspiron 530, running Vista. And I hook into a wireless router in the home to access the internet.

Compared to my prior computer(also a Dell, running XP), this one is FAST.
