Come on, now, everyone has a favorite movie that was either a financial flop or everyone else hated or worse. Mine is an old pirate movie called "Swashbuckler," starring Robert Shaw as Red Ned Lynch and a VERY young James Earl Jones as his friend and fellow pirate, Nick Debrett.

My favorite bad movie is a pirate flick, as well. I love Cutthroat Island. It cracks me up. "Bad dog!" Bahahaha. I think it might still be the lowest grossing movie of all time, but God, I love it. I laugh all the way through.

I have a weakness for swashbucklers of all kinds. Put a sword in the hand of the worst actor in the world, give me a big tub of popcorn and a Dr Pepper, and I'm set for the evening.

Hello Cutie
Oh my god! Cutthroat Island is AMAZING! You can't say that!! :)
Like Botd said Buffy The Vampire Slayer would find a place on my list but even then I have only seen it once so I couldn't say it's a bad movie that I love.

Ok I'm going to confess now that my dirty little secret is dance themed movies (waits for the heckling to stop) I have been know to enjoy Save the Last Dance, Step Up and Step up 2 the Streets.

WHAT!! The dancing is amazing!!!

Save the last dance? Be still my heart. I am in love with that movie. =]
Hm, I'd go here with horror flicks of early-to-middle XX Century. They were cheap, mostly crappy, but still there was something about them, something these days is missing.
Oh, and of course those old classic kungfu movies. Definitely not the masterpieces of filmography, but still they shaped up today's preferences - like love and will for taichi.

Gotta be Hudson Hawk, for me. I love that movie and yet stupid people with absolutely no taste actually consider it to be one of Bruce's weakest. They know nothing!

And here I thought that I was the only person in the free world who loced that movie! Timing a theft by singing! Genius!! Who needs a stopwatch?
I love the Scary Movies! 😛 you know like Scary Movie 4? well, i know they are stupid, bad taste and obnoxious but I find them hilarious!

Hehe I have to say D.E.B.S. Although I don't think it's necessarily bad, but I guess I can't say it's quality cinema, although I do love it. I also love Bring It On, which isn't bad either imo... And then there are a lot of "bad" lesbian movies, which I love just 'cause there aren't that many lesbian movies, and I know they didn't really have a budget and at least they're trying to do something, etc etc.

Have you seen 'But I'm a Cheerleader'?

Who am I kidding, of course you have, Clea DuVall and RuPaul - it really is bad but I really like it

I LOVE that movie... I don't think it's bad!
Like all these favorite list polls my favorite changes depending on what day it is, but lately I'm liking this recent one called Primeval about a crocodile that's eating people in Africa. It's based on fact. It got lousy reviews, but it's one of those where I disagree with the critics. I get a real kick out of it.

N4H just reminded me of another sucky movie that I actually enjoyed, despite myself.

Anyone seen Mammoth? I watched it purely out of loyalty to the lovely Summer Glau and frankly it did suck but it sucked just enough to be enjoyable.

Oh, I recalled - I used to like a lot "Without Warning (1980)" as a child - that horror movie about alien hunting down the careless students in the woods near some lake, yet starring Martin Landau there.
Oh, and the Critters, Evil Deads, Jeeper Creepers, The Return of Living Dead...
They all are amusing, but apparently, do not match the high movie production qualities, yet they are never old to enjoy. 🙂

Jeepers Creepers would be on my list of 10 favorite horror movies.

Evil Dead 2 is so classic! Love that one!
I love The Fifth Element. I don't understand why it doesn't get any love.

I think The Fifth Element gets a lot more respect than, say, Hudson Hawk but I agree that it doesn't get the respect it deserves for such a brilliant piece of work.

I don't really know if this counts or not because it became HUGE later on, but I really love The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It bombed in the box offices so I don't know if it counts as a "bad" movie, but it is one of those cult classics like Buffy so yeah I say it counts. That is by far my favorite 'bad' movie then. Go Frank-N-Furter!

Ahh mine's a very simple choice, although I have no idea if anyone will know it- the only people I know who have seen it are me, my dad and my brother. And yes, this film is amazing, and won a Razzie award for worst movie of the 80s!

Howard the Duck (1986). For those that want to know the plotline, a sarcastic humanoid duck is pulled from his home planet onto earth where he must stop an alien invader.

The dialogue is rubbish, the storyline is ridiculous, it has some of the WORST special effects I've ever seen, Howard the Duck himself is an absolute pimp/ladies-man (it's hilarious to see a human-sized duck attempt to grope a woman) and oh yeah, George Lucas was an executive producer- can you get much worse/better??

I recommend seeing it if you're a fan of rubbish 80s movies. Although you'll have a job finding it 🙂

Did it inspire you to study "duck fu?"
Hello Cutie just reminded me...The Mighty Ducks Trilogy! Seriously I LOVE these movies. Basically Emilio Estevez take over a little laegue hockey team. Who of course are bunch of misfits but eventually learn the meaning of friendship and possibly life through hockey and eventually win the championship and Olympic medals😀...what's not to love?

WE WILL WE WILL QUACK YOU!!

and lead me to a lifetime of love for Josh Jackson, what's bad about that?

Well, now you can add me to the list. 😉

I'll admit that I only bothered to see it because Howard is a Marvel Comics character and at the time I was a total Marvel Zombie but it's another of those "so bad it's brilliant" films that you end up seeing more than once.

They really need to give Howard the Duck another go with a movie. Marvel seem to want to make movies of all their heroes at the moment so why not?

Hello Cutie
