Who is your favorite movie/tv Dracula and why?

My favorite is one of the most obscure you're likely to come across, but, believe me, he fit the character perfectly!

Jack Palance made a tv movie based more closely on the original story than any other at that time, and he was fantastic in the part. (Other than him, the movie wasn't much to rave about)
 
I have a lot of Dracula films on my shelf lol, but of all of them Gary Oldman in the 1992 adaptation of the original book (which I've also got 2 copies of) followed by Christopher Lee in the 1960's Hammer Horror Dracula series.

And yes I do have the 1931 edition of Dracula, campy and more like the Munsters at times but a great diad between the Count and Van Helsing reminiscent of Holmes and Moriarty.
 
Oh I don't like the Jack Palance one, but I think it's the time period more than anything else. For me, you can't go wrong with Bela Lugosi 🙂

I have to admit, Lugosi's line, "I do not drink...wine," is a classic. No one else could ever pull it off so effectively.

Yup, still a creepy and impressive rendition of the Count after all these years
Christopher Lee, because he puts all the good things into Dracula.

Bela Lugosi was amazing, but there is just something about Lee that I find enthralling. He just seems like the perfect Dracula.
 
Yeah the parts of the Hammer series with some internal consistency and allowing him to have more lines, were some of the best Dracula films ever produced, especially those where he performed alongside Peter Cushing.

Thats something you can't replace these days. Although the film "Van Helsing" had a good Dracula in terms of portraying a more accurate Romanian aristocratic count, other than that his performance wasn't quite on the level of the others, a little too much madman and the like.
 
It's hard to say for me. Does 'Nosferatu' count? lol

I think until I see more of the movies, I'll just say the book is my favorite.

I can tell you my LEAST favorite Dracula though. That would be the incredibly lame-ass vampire from Buffy in season five. Hated that actor, hated the way he was written...UGH.
