I think my knowledge of 20's cinema doesn’t stretch much past the Harold Lloyd and Laurel + Hardy films I watched as a kid!

I love Chaplin's The Gold Rush which I think is the 20's and someone lent me Keaton's The General recently but I haven't watched it yet

There are a few films I keep meaning to watch like Nosferatu, The Passion of Joan of Arc and Metropolis so hopefully will get round to them soon

Pearl is so much better than Scream '22 and I really enjoyed Velvet Buzzsaw more than Ready or Not from 2019 because VB is more psychological and having worked in a pretentious art gallery, I appreciate what it was doing for a horror movie to be set in an art gallery. Also, Jawbreaker is truly more of my favorite from 1999 even though the Matrix is deeper, Jawbreaker is more fun to watch.

I cancelled my unlimited card this year as there was less and less being released that caught my eye. Still caught a few good films at the cinema in 2023. A man called Otto at the beginning of the year. Guardians of the Galaxy 3, the only decent Marvel film for a while. Favourite film was probably Strays. Nothing clever just straight up good laugh out loud funny. Mention for No Hard Feelings which was also a good comedy.

2023 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Did I mention that I saw this movie three times at the cinema? The animation and the score takes the cake for this one.)
2024 Challengers (I don't even care for the plot, but the score, the dynamic camera movements, the sensual shots... they are all very unique.)
2025 Bugonia (I love the script and acting. I hope to see the original movie this one is based on later.)
