Your favourite author??

There are too many to mention them all but I'll go for a few to give you a flavour - Shakespeare, Harlan Ellison, JK Rowling, Bernard Cornwell, George RR Martin, Stephen King, Peter Straub, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Arthur C Clarke, Isaac Asimov - I couldn't possibly name just one from all the writers I enjoy...
 
Long list Mr.Pointy..I also enjoy Agatha Christie, sir Arthur Conan Doyle,Robin Cook,Paulo Coelho,Shakespeare and Lewis Carroll. And yes I have that thing for 'C' writers...🙂
 
Laurell K. Hamilton, wicked books. Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is pretty good as well, Cate Tiernan was good, uhm...there's a bunch a books i liked...Philip Pullman...
I liked Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,Isaac Asimov,...hm...I've read so much that I sorta forgot who i read...haven't read much lately, which is a shame...hm...there was this series by a lady Mary or something similar bout king arthur that was pretty ok, 8th grade, the memory's not what it used to be. uhm...a triple name guy who wrote about a pig king...i know his name too, i'm just a master at drawing blanks tis all.
that's all i can remember at the moment so...maybe i'll go poke through my books...i've got a big pile i've gotta go read...i did just get this new short story book, dead roses for blue lady...sonja someone...that was pretty good. i'll hafta go get the name...sorry bout the forgetfullness.
 
Fiction: Ray Bradbury, David Eddings, Edmund Rostand, Kurt Vonnegut... Some I can't remember

Non-Fiction: Elizabeth Wurtzel (Who I actually got to meet), Wes Nisker... Again, having trouble thinking.

Buggerit - forgot about lovely old Kurt Vonnegut...he's definitely in the top twenty.
ooh, and Michael Moorcock as well - I met him once at a signing...
 
I just forgot the majority of them..eek...but a rundown: Stephen King, Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz (some of his stuff), Michael Moore, Voltaire, Poe, Lord Byron...

I like Robert Heinlein, Stephen King, Anne Rice, Tolkien, Bradbury, H.P. Lovecraft....although I have only just started reading his work....Tom Clancy, Graham Masterton.... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few........

Judy Blume, hands down. Her style of writing is just so unique. Check out Tiger Eyes to see what I mean.
 
Ummm Cate Tiernan, Shakespeare, Christopher Golden, Stephan King and John Grisham...all great authors 🙂

I agree with you on that one. I have so many, ranging from childhood favourites to current.

The author that got me hooked on books was Roald Dahl, Matilda was my fave, closely followed by The Witches. I loved Judy Blume's 'Superfudge' series, we used to get that read to us at primary school. JK Rowling of course. She reminds me of Roald Dahl a bit because they take you into their world and it feels so real.

I read a lot of Stephen King, Richard Laymon, John Grisham, Mary Higgans Clarke, Tolkien. I also read a lot of true crime and criminology text more than fiction these days.

You never know if there is a lot of interest in reading we should start a bookclub or something.
 
I'm not really a reader, but I can easily pick up a Shakespeare anytime.
 
Wow, so much authors, lol, you make me wanna to discover them.
I enjoy reading Tolkien (master of the master, lol), Shakespeare, Coelho (btw, which books you read by him ana8?), Molière (the plays he wrote, gosh!!!), JK Rowling (a bit ashame of it lol), J. Crowley (Little Big, OMG)
& for the kind of intellectual ones (lol, yep, it happens sometimes, lmao) Voltaire, Nietzche, Machiavel, Sponville.
 
OMG yep ana8 ! This book is so striking. It's like a melt of madness, of fear, of amazement & of disbelief while reading the story. That's the one I remember the best I think.
But ok, I still have to read the Piedra river one & the last one.
