Oh, I am very aware of Tim Vine. He's occasionally really funny, but I feel like half his jokes are hilarious, and then the other half are pure filler. Still, I've seen two of his specials ('Punslinger' and 'So I Said to this Bloke'), and they were pretty funny. One of my favorite jokes has to be "Velcro: what a rip-off!"

My absolute, favorite comedian ever was Mitch Hedberg! I also really like Billy Connolly, George Carlin, Bill Hicks and Lewis Black. I obviously don't watch a lot of new comedians as most of my favorites appear to not be alive anymore...

Abs don't get me wrong I like Chelsea and Ellen but to me they are way better on writing jokes on shows then actual STAND UP performances like Larry David to me. Is it just me or are Females weak in the comedian game....I think comedy is more of a Man trait...what y'all think?

But anyways some of my favs are: Richard Pryor, Paul Mooney, Bill Hicks, Chris Rock, George Carlin, Dave Chapelle, Eddie Murphy, Louis CK, Katt Williams, Dice Clay but honestly I can find lots of people hilarious...the only field if any i'm not big with is Blue Collar comedy except Ron White...I'll give him props 😛 I'd be here all day if I kept mentioning comedians though cause I like lots of standups and topics...everybody mentioned so far is atleast a good comedian if not top notch so can't argue in here

My favourite stand-ups are Dylan Moran, Tom Gleeson, Frank Woodley, Stephen K. Amos, Ross Noble, Fiona O'Laughlin, Kitty Flanagan, Bill Bailey, Wil Anderson, Adam Hills, Tim Minchin, Paul McDermott, Denise Scott and Josh Thomas.

LOL! Oh my GOD, you didn't!!! 😀 I'm not saying this in a mean way, but oh my god NO, I don't think women are weak in the comedian game. What do you mean it's a "man trait"? I think men who in many ways have the power in most of our society today also have the power to decide what's funny and what's not funny. More men comedians are promoted and uplifted, so of course there's going to be a broader range and something for everyone to find funny. I also believe that women are many time forced to base their stand up acts on "women are like this, women are like that" and basically just talk crap about other women 'cause that's the space they've been given; they are WOMEN comedians, they aren't just comedians. Whitney Cumming obviously have great comedian timing and all that, but no, it isn't funny that she seem to be basing her act on that women stab each other in the back and that we can't argue in a straight way. But that isn't just about her only being able to talk about that stuff, it's about what norms that exist in the comedy (and all over) world.

And once again, I'm really thankful for Sarah Silverman and Ellen Degeneres that have created a wider range for women comedians and breaking norms! :heart: And I think they are hilarious at stand up and performing, I don't agree with you at all!

I agree its more men cause men control the world, but I'm talking not by total numbers but overall substance....and I've never been that impressed by a women stand up performance....sure I've seen a few good ones but nothing OMG and the same goes for the women I'm around. The women I know they seem to respond way better to the male comedians then female. Ofcourse i'm just stating my own opinion so take it with a grain of salt

I just discovered Bo Burnham, who adds music to his comedy. He's very clever and a lot of fun to watch. Plus, he's one of those comedians you can watch more than once and still laugh. I also love Dylan Moran (gardening, gardening, gardening, death!), and sometimes Jimmy Carr.

I love stand up comedy. I go to more stand up gigs than music gigs. 🙂 I've seen Jimmy Carr (not really a big fan though), Frankie Boyle, Ed Byrne, Doug Stanhope (amazing), Simon Amstell, The Mighty Boosh, The League of Gentlemen, Flight of the Conchords, Ross Noble (3 times, once in the front row. Scary!). And I sat in the front row of a recording of an awful Lenny Henry show with Jon Culshaw haha. There's probably more I can't remember right now.

I have a varied taste, but in general I like more subversive stuff, and that takes all forms. Stewart Lee, Ross Noble, Bill Bailey, Harry Hill, Steven Wright, Bill Hicks, Doug Stanhope. Also, having the ability to make me laugh is a big reason why I'm attracted to a person. Comedians are seeeexy.

Just saying... but Ellen is one of my favorites. About two years ago, I went and watched every piece of standup from her I could find... and she's absolutely hysterical. Especially around the time she came out. She had a way of taking every bit of hate and saying it back in the most hysterical ways. You could tell it hurt her, and she would even say it, but then also she'd show how ridiculous and stupid it was without using any of the cliche things gay people often use. It was so perfect. She was so perfect. She IS so perfect. It was when I did that that she became one of my absolute heroes. Don't sell her short.

I'm not really into stand up comedy, but I adore Alan Carr and Joan Rivers. I actually have tickets to see Joan on her UK tour next year and I can't wait!

I love Jimmy Carr, Ed Byrne, Tim Minchin, Russell Brand, Dylan Moran and Dara O Briain to name a few. Aside from Rich Hall I dislike American stand up though, it's not quite as subtle as some of the British stand up is (not that that's a bad thing, it's just not my cup of tea). Also not a fan of sketch shows, but things like The Boosh are great.

I love Kat Williams. He is absolutely hilarious. And I have the biggest guilty pleasure of watching Chelsea Lately. She is so raunchy and incredibly blunt, but she never ceases to crack me up.
