Did your parents tell you what your first word(s) was? (Or do you have a very good memory and you're some kind of freak who remembers things from the age of 1?) What was it?

Mama. By the rest of the world's standards... however, in my family we tend to adopt a lot of baby speak. Like, we still call a pacifier a "gaga," because that's what my brother called them... and we say "aicondoo" instead of "air conditioner," and "regliar" instead of "regular." So by my family's standards, it was something different... I can't remember what my mom said it was. But by the rest of the world's standards, it was Mama.

My first word was "baba" for bottle. 🙂 Who would have ever thought that this chunky girl would have been focused on food from the get-go? LMAO

lmfao my mom says the same thing because I used to eat mashed potatoes :p
My first word was "oh ship" switch the p with a t. I know not very good but lol what can you do? I started conversing pretty early and haven't shut up since. It was awkward when my teacher asked us our first word. I was like honestly?

I dont know what my first word was, but my first teddy bears name was Abdu cos thats what I said when they asked me what to name him.

Hi
My mom said where ever we would go, she'd just be carrying me around and I'd be over her shoulder saying "Hi" to everyone I saw. Even during church.

Uh-oh. I said that all the time. Everything else I said was crazy Baby Babble.

My sister's first word was Shoe or Shoo.

Ahhh, my mother remembers clearly what the first utterance of the OM3.0 was. It was "Ppppthblthtblthtblthblthtbltttttt!!!!!!" It was a proud and emotional day for the mother unit.

(^ yeah, she's a bit tetched in the head)

😛😛😛

I took my time to start talking but when I did I seemed to have lean what I needed. Or so I've been told. To make it easier for you I'll translate to english.

Mother, Father, Hello. Or perhaps mommy, daddy, hi.

First whole sentence "I want that."/"Give me that."

First words definitely nothing special but I guess I was pretty selfish as a kid. That, or someone (older sister) always took things from me and I disapproved. 😉

I'm pretty sure that I remember being told it was "dada." My son's (who has just turned one) first word was "dada" as well.
