Hey everybody. I'm in debate. This is my third year and we have alot of fun.

Last week we had our first meet. My partner and I won one of our debates. We lost the other two. I was looking over our case and was wondering what people really think about it. As a debater you have to debate both sides, for the status quo and against it.

The affirmative side offers a plan to change the status quo.

The negative side argues that we don't need the affirmative's plan.

This years resolution (topic) is:

Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase public health services for mental health care in the United States.

I'm curious as to what side ya'll would take. Do you think that the status quo needs to change? Or do you think that nothing is wrong with the status quo?

BTW, status quo is the way things are now.

i can not really comment on the usa but as an ex psychiatric nurse i can say there is never enough services in this area...everyone in the world needs a little help at some point in their lives.

I really don't know anything about the American sytem either, but since I've work in an institution for mentally challenged (retards) I can only agree with Foi, their's never really enough!
