I'm recently married (well it's less than a year) but it's weird because I don't feel like a wife. We were living together before we got married so nothing has changed there. I still refer to him as my partner and not my husband and I've yet to be able to sign my signature without signing my maiden name.
Your probably wondering why I bothered getting married lol but it's the way I've been brought up. I come from a massive family (my dad has 8 brothers and sisters and I have 15 cousins). Only 2 of them have gotten a divorce (one was actually an annulment). I'm old fashioned as well because any guy who wants kids with me has to marry me first. However, I'm not that old fashioned about everything, our little girl did come 5 months after we got married 🙂
I am in a relationship. We've been together 5 years and lived together 4. This guy came into my life through the most complicated circumstances, like a butterfly effect. And funnily enough I don't much speak to or know the other people who made the connections anymore. I suppose they served their purpose. 😀
I don't much care for over sharing and that's seemingly all Facebook is. I don't use it anymore. I had a friend who had been with her boyfriend the same length of time but everything was about show. Facebook was her vessel. Her boyfriend proposed to her when she was going through a bad time so they are now getting married. Jeez, don't get married to make yourself feel better.
I might get married at some point but it's not the be all and end all for us. I don't see a time limit on a relationship. We both don't want children either so that's not a worry.

Well there's a few studies out there that highlight that those who post about their relationship online constantly are actually very insecure about their relationship. Makes sense to me. (Smith doesn't even have a Facebook account, and I never talk about him. A few people have messaged me over the past year asking if we're still together, LOL. Poor guy. 😀)
Yeah and I've noticed a few of my friends who I know are in relationships don't have them on the status. I guess either they just didn't think to update it, or just decided outside of their group of friends its no one's business.
I can totally back this up. My last girlfriend would post EVERYTHING that we did. Overall it was a pretty crap relationship and even the first few months in it was obvious that we weren't going to last (and somehow made it to 18 months) but yeah, can totally back this up.Well there's a few studies out there that highlight that those who post about their relationship online constantly are actually very insecure about their relationship. If I don't have the "in a relationship" status box checked I get barraged with annoying online dating site ads on my FB page. So I just keep it checked and go ad free

I've been married for almost 5 years.
I met my husband when I was 22, at a time in my life that, well, I was lost. I wasn't going anywhere. I didn't have stable ground.
I didn't believe in love at first sight, and to a certain extent I still don't but he tells me that the first time he saw me, his first thought was "she's the one". I was too under the influence of sandwiches (bonus points if you catch the reference) to realize my own pain let alone someone else. He took the time to get to know me. He took the time to get me to stable ground and I fell head over heels for him. We've been together ever since.
I was messed up, and you know, I still kind of am, but he makes me want to get better. Not for him, but for myself, for us, for my little girl. He's the reason I didn't lose faith in love.
also he makes the best cinnamon apple coffee cake I've ever tasted so I either married him for love or cake...
