I think they say that heterosexuals are 90% of the population, but here we're only 61%.

We're still winning, but not by that much (lol at the term "winning"--- sorry!)

haha, that's the spirit... it's a race! ;-)
very interesting thoughts, moonset!

I guess there are 3 issues here... gender, sex, and attraction.

have any of you ever been surprised by the person you found yourself attracted to? like, someone you never would have thought was your "type"?

Yes. My husband!

He was actually my best friend for a year in highschool while I was dating this really punky guy. Who was my type, but also a jerkface.

The hubby is not punky. Actually he wore the same flannel to school pretty much every day and he loves Johnny Cash.

The only aspect of him that connected to my type was that he's kinda barrel chested, which I like, because I like to have some size to my guy, so I can feel like he can protect me. That's it.

He actually had to really work at making me see that I liked him, for about 6 months before I figured it out.

Really awesome times. 🙂

Nothin' wrong with Johnny Cash!
Okay, girl who likes girls who are girly here (actually, I'm panromantic and sexually lesbian. Though, like Zo, I hate that word with a passion. It sounds like a disease or a raw vegetable, both of which I hate).

I am being lazy and not reading through six pages of arguments and debates and coming out and all that jazz. So, forgive me if this has been mentioned, but why is there no "asexual," "pansexual," "panromantic," "more than one of the above," "unsure," "bicurious," "Buffysexual," or "doomed to be old and single?"

Have a nice day!

I definitely would have chosen "doomed to be old and single?"

that's very cool, wicked!

It's so funny how what looks good "on paper" and what is good real life can be so different!

Head's up, I think this might spoil someone who hasn't seen all of the series yet (someone who posted in this thread, I think), so if you haven't, keep scrolling on! 😀

********

Anyway, I was checking out the schedule for San Diego Comic Con, and I found this for tomorrow:

5:00-6:00 Buffy The Vampire Slayer and LGBT Comics Fandom"” LGBT fans hailed the revelation in the long-running television hit that one of its main characters, Willow, had fallen in love with another female character, Tara. This groundbreaking depiction of queer love in the TV show has been built upon in the Buffy comic books published by Dark Horse Comics, and Buffy remains one of the most queer-friendly properties in pop culture. Moderator Charles "Zan" Christensen (Prism Comics president) discusses the special relationship between the Buffyverse and LGBT comic book fans with Buffy creators and actors, including Scott Allie, Andrew Chambliss, Jane Espenson, Drew Greenberg, Tom Lenk, and a special guest! Room 32AB

I AM SO EXCITED, Y'ALL. 😀 😀 😀 😀

Sounds really great- sure hope that pushes them to definitely out Andrew in season 9!
VisionGirl agrees: Nothin' wrong with Johnny Cash!

Totally agreed! But at that time . . . I'm ashamed to admit . . . that I didn't even know who he was . . .

But today I listened to him for a couple hours. 😀

Don't be a hater... raw vegetables are great!!

I respectfully disagree, and respectfully wonder if you are sane or not. 😛

I will go so far to say that celery is okay, if you have some melted cheese, peanut butter, or ranch dressing to go with it.

I don't know if I want to be friends with a vegephobe! :D

Ok for hating diseases but I'm with Goby. Don't go hating on raw vegetables. 😉

"doomed to be old and single?"
Sounds like me but not to get too depressing I'm adding "... but you never know". 😛

Still, being old and single I doubt I'll ever stop loving the wonder that is women. In the general sense. There's some bad and scary examples out there...

I'm straight however had my moments of thinking about that. I really like the way how bodies of women look. But I know what's inside their heads and it ruins everything. Generally women are shallow and I couldn't be with any. I can't imagine that I could dress up for women, try to fancy them. This is a lot easier with men.

And, God, I love when guy has a beard. The thing that women don't have. Generally... 😉
