What is your single favorite moment of BtVS and AtS? And by moment I mean literally a few minutes max type moment, not a favorite episode. It can be a line, speech, conversation, or event just non-verbal moment or fight! Curious to see what everyone says!

"I learned that from my father."

And then that look from the elevator, that look that tells Angel that Connor remembers everything and that he's okay.

That will forever be my favorite moment.

That and hearing Christian Kane sing for the first time on that stage at Caritas.

From the time that Faith and Angel start their fight, to the end of Five by Five. That episode as a whole is pretty much perfect, but that part just sticks out to me.

Season 7, "Touched"

Buffy: Will you just hold me?

No houses falling down, no biting, clawing, animal lust, just an honest request for someone to make her feel safe and loved.

"Well personally, I kinda want to slay the dragon. Let's go to work."

Angel at his finest, summing up in one line exactly what's so awesome about him, his mission and his series. That even in the face of overwhelming odds, when the whole world is against you, you don't give up. Ever.

I'll always remember that moment whenever I think about Angel

So much choice!! 😀

I think number 1 has to be the lead-up to the Buffy/Faith fight scene in "Graduation Day Part 1" til the first punch.

FAITH: Well look at you all dressed up in big sisters clothes.

BUFFY: You told me I was just like you. That I was holding it in

FAITH: Ready to cut loose?

BUFFY: Try me

FAITH: Ok then, give us a kiss

I genuinely swee when I watch this moment! 😀

Second has to be Willow and Tara getting back together at the end of "Entropy" <3. There's a definite lesbian theme in these two moments haha. And third...it's either the Spuffy kiss at the end of "Tabula Rasa", Giles' "I'd like to test that theory" moment, or Buffy consoling Giles after Jenny's death in "Passion". It's a tie for the bronze, I just can't choose 🙂

Such an awesome Fuffy moment!
I love all the interactions between Angel and Connor, even when their relationship was complicated (to use a euphemism)

This scene by "Home" was heartbreaking

You tried to love me. At least I think you did.. But not enough to hang on, dad. You let him take me. You let him get me. You let him get me.. There's only one thing that ever changes anything... and that's death. Everything else is just a lie. You can't be saved by a lie. You can't be saved at all.

Season 5

You gotta do what you can to protect your family. I learned that from my father.
Connor to Angel (Origin)

(The camera cuts to outside Angel's office, and we see Connor walk forward with that slightly-slow-mo-badass-prowl shot familiar from s4, as Angel stares from behind, trying to figure out what just happened. As he waits for the elevator, Connor casts one more signifigant look back at Angel, and then with the slightest of smiles, gets on the elevator)

I know you're my father.. I get what you did. You know.. I'm grateful.
Connor to Angel (Not Fade Away)

ANGEL: Go home...now.
CONNOR: They'll destroy you.
ANGEL: As long as you're OK, they can't. Go.
(Not Fade Away)

I cannot not mention Buffy 🙂

BUFFY: Angel? This is the first time I've ever really felt this way.
ANGEL: What way?
BUFFY: Just like I've always wanted to. Like a normal girl, falling asleep in the arms of her normal boyfriend. It's perfect.
(I Will Remember You)

Shockingly, my two favourite moments have everything to do with Angel's face reacting to Buffy. You may all need a moment to adjust to that startling revelation.

In BTVS it's Buffy and Angel's final scene in Lovers Walk:

Buffy: Tell me you don't love me.
*Holds her breath*
Angel:... (Silence)

I love it because of the way he looks at her, he swallows her up nearly. And also because of how you can tell that Buffy doesn't know which option she is really wishing for: he says it and she can still see him, or he stays silent and she knows he is still in love with her but they must be apart.

In ATS it's Angel walking in and seeing Willow in the Hyperion when they come back from Pylea:

Angel: It's Buffy.

I'd been worried they were going to get Angel finding out Buffy is dead wrong but when I saw this it felt completely right. You can see the realisation dawning on his face and it is gutting. The scene was played subtley and I loved that.

Sweet angsty goodness is where I live.

See, I love that scene, too, but for an ENTIRELY different reason.

I think Willow OWNS that scene, and I'm not even a Willow fan. Alyson Hannigan is flawless here and she just commands that moment without uttering a single word. The look on her face is heartbreaking, because she knows the next words to come out of her mouth are going to destroy Angel and it's the very last thing she wants to do.

I'm not saying Angel isn't as captivating and amazing in that scene, because seriously, DB's delivery of 'it's Buffy' couldn't be more soul-destroying if he tried, but it's Willow who makes this scene for me.

I have to agree, she definitely owns that scene, it's one of the many examples of where AH puts the other actors to shame, and reminds me how she's wasted on HIMYM

As far as I am concerned Willow isn't even there when I watch that scene. She doesn't even exist. It's just Angel and that look in his eyes.

Smile Time when Fred kisses Wes.
That made me so happy.
"Self esteem is for everybody, self esteem is for everyone..."

And that scene with Buffy, you know, just every scene with Buffy 🙂

That was then, this is now closely followed by He had to split. This, in my opinion, is what Buffy's all about, the quintessence. Non-verbal? In "The Prom" Buffy drags the demon's corpse, takes out the dress from her bag and goes away to party. It's a nice allegory.

The moment I fell in love with the show was the scene where Xander had cast a spell to make Cordelia love him and it makes every girl in school attracted to him, the scene where he's walking down the corridor and everyone's checking him out is very funny. I think it was the second episode I saw and it sealed the deal for me, I decided to stick around.

I could probably pick a few favorites based on 'favorite love scene' or comedic scene' and so on.. But just thinking of the show as a whole I think a lot of the sarcasm and witty humor comes to mind. I couldn't pick one particular line. I could pick my favorite Willow line or Buffy line..

Some of the vampire-comedy comes to mind. Like late in the show (S7) when Buffy is teaching Dawn how to slay and the Vampire's foot is caught in a shrug.. or when the vamp wouldn't bite Buffy because she smells like fast food.. Oz throwing a stake and it bounces off of the tomb and not even close to the vamp.

Ill have to put some thought into it 🙂

I really love this one, cuz up until then, I felt the Scoobies friendship had been crumbling a bit, especially Buffy & Willows relationship with Xander. What I'm writing isn't going to be 100% correct since it was a while since I saw this episode.

It's in Primeval, Season 3.

Buffy, Willow and Xander has just broken into the elevator shaft in the Initiative HQ and suddenly they start hugging each other and say "I love you guys". Xander has his big awesome smile, and when Giles wonders what's going he just shouts "You gotta come down here!".

That scene always brings warmth to my heart cuz it really shows how strong their friendship is. Even if they have their dark moments, they still love each other.

Ooh this is a hard one. The one that comes to mind right now is the scene between Buffy and the First Slayer -
TARA: I have no speech. No name. I live in the action of death,
the blood cry, the penetrating wound. (The woman straightens up and looks
Buffy in the eye.)
TARA: I am destruction. Absolute ... alone.
(Buffy frowns.)
BUFFY: The Slayer.
(The other woman looks at her.)
Tara: (offscreen) The first.
(Shot of Buffy's hand, holding a bunch of Tarot-shaped cards. In the one on
top we see a scene of Giles, Buffy, Willow, and Xander in Joyce's living
room watching TV.)
(Shot of Buffy looking at the card in her hand, with the mountains behind her.)
BUFFY: I am not alone.
(Shot of Tara in the background, the First Slayer in the middle ground, and
Buffy's back in the foreground.)
TARA: The Slayer does not walk in this world.
BUFFY: I walk.
(Side shot of the three of them.)
BUFFY: I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods
roll back.
(Shot of the First Slayer lifting her chin in anger.)
BUFFY: (offscreen) There's trees in the desert since you moved out. (The
First Slayer shakes her head) And I don't sleep on a bed of bones.
(Shot of Buffy's face.)
BUFFY: (firmly) Now give me back my friends.
(The First Slayer speaks in a very low, hoarse voice.)
FIRST SLAYER: No ... friends! Just the kill.
(Shot of Buffy watching her.)
FIRST SLAYER: We ... are ... alone!
(The bald guy leans in between Buffy and the First Slayer, holding up two
slices of cheese. He grins and shakes the cheese at Buffy, then retreats
offscreen.)
BUFFY: That's it. I'm waking up.

Hope that wasnt too long to read. To me it shows how Buffy is different from the First Slayer and that she is just as capable of saving the world in her own unique way. I love the last part too, it was really a "Buffy" moment.

My favorite moment was probably of Buffy firing a bazooka and destroying The Judge in Season 2's "Innocence." There was just such a good build-up to that after Angel lost his soul. Down, but never out.

Tara's geeky half smile at the end of 'Family', is without a doubt my favorite moment!

such a good one
OccaQuokka 's post reminded me of my favorite 'Restless' moment.

"I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back and I don't sleep on a bed of bones. Now give me back my friends."

It was the first 'Buffy Speech' that really stuck in my head, and the first one that I was ever able to recite from memory. It's such a powerful moment and a lot of it is just complete nonsense (a fireman, really? lol) and I just love everything about that moment, including Buffy's curious little tilt of her head.
