I would have given Anya a better death. I'm not totally upset that she died (because SOMEONE had to), but I hate the way she died. It was too quick, unemotional, and lonely.

I'm fine with most of the creative decisions in the series, but one thing I always wanted (and I understand this apparently exists in expanded fiction, but I've not read it) was a vampire who used to be a Slayer as a major antagonist. That seems like a really interesting concept to me.

A former slayer as a big bad, or maybe have Drusilla Sire Kendra in Becoming pt 2.
Or have Buffy succeed and bring Faith back to feed to Angel, and have Angel Sire her.
Maybe have Spike seek out his soul after the Gift as a way to atone for what he saw as his failure.

I know how corny this is going to sound, but I love the Buffyverse so much the way it is, tragedy and all. Its heartbreaking. It's painful. But it's realistic. These people fighting demons and monsters really WOULD lose people they love in horrific ways, it really WOULD be impossible to make the right decisions all the time.
That being said, there are somethings that in my mind were just dumb. Main example: The introduction of Dawn from left field. I would have instead just had her be a normal girl Buffy felt led to protect, rather than shoving the sister thing in our faces. The bond still could have been as strong and worthwhile, and Dawn could've stuck around anyway after Buffy's death to help the Scoobies in respect to her. More crossovers with the Angel and Buffy teams. I would've loved to see a horribly awkward flirtation between Fred and Xander, or a revisiting of some of the angst between an older, more mature Cordelia and Buffy. And Doyle. I would've kept Doyle forever. I adored that man, and I loved the way he adored Cordy so much, I think it ruined me for a romantic Cangel relationship. I'm probably alone on that one, but oh well. 😉
And Faith... more Faith. Much much MUCH more Faith.
There are things I would've done differently, but on the whole I don't think I could change a lot. Each event shaped a character differently, and in a lot of cases shapes them to the person they are today.

Simply put:
During the Boxer Rebellion, Angel is about to kill the Chinese Slayer when Spike stakes him. As a reward, the Guardians (not the Watchers) return Spike's soul and commission him with the task of protecting and assisting in the training of all future Slayers until the time when THE ONE is called. He helps her learn and survive the perils of the hellmouth, and together, they defeat the First Evil. As a reward for his devotion and loyalty, Spike has his humanity restored and he and Buffy marry and live happily ever after. They name their first daughter Kean, and their first son William Arthur, though he becomes better known as simply WA. Kean and WA take great pleasure in aggravating and annoying each other and in general driving their poor parents crazy.

I think the one thing that bugs me about this thread, no offense, is that a lot of these changes seem intent of sapping out all the drama and intrigue from the series.
Or in the case of the above Dawn modification, just completely missing the point.

First off. Not kill Jenny. And here's how it could go down: Jenny was a very interesting character, we know nothing of her backstory. That could have been investigated and been very interesting to find out. With regards to the rest of the series, in season 2 Giles and Jenny could get back together of course, but in Becoming, Drusilla could have abducted both Giles and Jenny. They could have used Jenny to emotionally torture Giles and he would have told Angel the key to opening Acathla. And Willow would still get her moment to do the restoration spell.
With regards to the series long run, the whole idea of Buffy vs Jenny could have been explored, and what would Giles do if both of the ladies were at odds with one another. Also, Giles and Jenny could have had a kid, and that would have been amazing to play around with! And I think Jenny would have been a great influence on Dawn and would have been a great mother figure after Joyce died. Man, they could have done SO MUCH!

I definitely would have liked to have seen some Spangel action in Season 5. I don't know why they kept trying to pair Angel up with all these female characters that he shared nothing in common with and had no chemistry with. Eve. Buffy. Cordelia. Nina. All boring. Spike and Angel had fireworks, they cared for each other, had more in common then they would refuse to let themselves believe and were physically attracted to each other... Okay so that last point isn't canon, but I KNOW they were!
I would have had the romance build through Season 5. Angel would finally offer to take Spike out for a drink wanting to get him drunk and find out information from him. Then Spike would start talking about everything he went through and how much he has changed and Angel and Spike would realise how much they care about each other. The episode would end with them sharing a romantic, gentle kiss at a skeezy bar.
Then for a couple of episodes Angel would pretend it had never happened, but eventually they would get back together.

I agree with this. I do feel that some of the more unpopular decisions Joss and co made i.e. Kennedy,Dawn (though I like her), Cordelia/Conner/Jasmine cost the shows viewers which is something that cult shows like Buffy/Angel really can't afford.
