Your Worst Job Ever.

oh dear lord, I have had so many jobs in my life and they were all awful in their own special way... I don't think I can decide which one was the worst!

There was the call centre, where I had to call unsuspecting old ladies, tell them I'd take up 5 minutes of their time and then ask them questions about their radio listening habits for a good half hour. The awful bit was not actually the lying (although I felt horrible about that too) but that the old ladies didn't tell me to eff off, as they would have been well within their rights to do.

Then there was the Lebanese restaurant where I worked as a waitress for a summer, under a boss who didn't speak a word of German or English and conveniently fired me because he couldn't remember me telling him that I needed to take a weekend off (after I worked 8 weekends (Fri and Sat) in a row for €5 an hour.

Then there was the movie theatre when I was about 16 and my boss was a pedophile. I'm not kidding, there were 3 of us girls working there, and he was ALWAYS around with his tongue hanging out, and the worst part was that the other girls were actually flirting with him. I quit when he smacked my bum in passing and he never paid me for my last week there.

The best job I had was as bargirl in a pub in London. I worked so much and the money was poxy, but my manager and the other bar staff were awesome people and we had SO much fun. I work in an Irish pub now, but in Germany and it's not half as much fun cos my boss is darn stingy and NEVER gives us free drinks. The customers love me though, only today one of the other girls told me that a fella we call the Guinness man actually walked out because I wasn't there 🙂

Okay, exactly how many people from my favorite trade post here? "Guinness Man" huh; sounds like someone I could have a nice cool/lukewarm pint with.

When I was a wee lad and the elder males explained to me our Irish heritage; well it's the closest I've ever come to feeling like there was an honest to goodness mythical land like middle earth or something. Hopefully someday soon I'll be able to visit Ireland and research my history. Still not sure if I'm gonna change my name back to the old Gaelic.

I still say I've got top spot; but you have all certainly worked some horrible jobs.

My easiest job...being this good looking and athletic.

I wish I was Irish. I'm going to Dublin in Feb!! :)
My worse job was in a supermarket. Dealing with customers, and stocking shelves was all good really, no problem there. The bad part was that the skip where we dumped the rubbish was in a horrible part of town. Which led to being hit by stones in the face, ouch, having knives pointed at my throat, yikes, and those lovely people once grabbing the cage of rubbish and pushing it into traffic, scary. And that's why I hate my hometown, I call it scumbag central. I worked there for about a year and it turned me into a moody brat really. I was angry all the time, got a really bad attitude problem and if you said hello to me, I'd probably tell you to f**k off. Not my best moments. It's all good now though, I'm still a brat but a nicer brat.😀

oh yes, how i hate my current job...

*le sigh*

having to get into work around 11am or mid day, getting the set and equipment set up before the various women come in and start getting ready...

discussing what we're doing today with them regularly, having meetings practically every day with the various women on set to sort out ideas for scenes and what we can / can't get away with...

then going home after a few hours hard and sweaty work... to finish off work at home, sat at my computer, tirelessly working over everything i've done during the day...

heh, i work in fetish porn roflol 😛

like i'd change this job for the world lol

As I've said before I deeply appreciate british slang; so please indulge me for just a tic while I say you are one cheeky bugger.
Definitely my current job.

Assistenting manager at Stop & Shop.

Stupid customers, even worse management...

One hour there is like 7 anywhere else.

Gotta hold myself back from assaulting someone 5 days a week lol

A speech pathologist? That sounds interesting. What age group do you work with? Do you help kids with learning disabilities or what?

I work for the local public school system. This year I have an elementary school, Head Start (that's 3-5 yr olds), and middle school on my caseload. I work with children with all kinds of disabilities, plus those who just have speech impairments. I have mostly worked with my children in my career, but have done some work with adults (home health)- although I haven't done that in about 6 yrs. Having 3 kids of my own more than takes up any "spare time" I have. 🙂

I have to say though that the hardest job I have is "mom". I have taken extended leave with my babies, plus I'm home with them in the summers now.

My easiest job...being this good looking and athletic.

Meh. We've all got crosses to bear. 😉

These past 2 days it's getting worse for me. I used to be okay with my job. I like the people who work with me, the fact that it's not many hours a week, easy going and all but lately... I'm just so damn bored!!! I wanna scream when I'm there because I'm going crazy. I tried listening to music while working, be with myself, thinking about Buffy stuff like always, but it's becoming a burden, really is. I don't know what to do. I really want to find a n ew job, but there's nothing better. I really have to start thinking what I'm gonna do with my life now, job wise.
