I just thought about this: If you could select one year, just one year that is important to you in terms of popular culture... which would it be? What things happened that year, that were milestones for you in terms of popular culture?
I'll start with my choice, which is...
2001
Were I to choose just one year, I think 2001 would be my year. There's a lot of things that I enjoyed a lot, even if I maybe didn't discover the half of them right in 2001, but rather maybe a couple of years or even much more after. Here's my list:
-The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring: it changed cinema, I just remember the day I watched the movie in a theater. It was just magic made movie.
-Windows XP released. It was a drastic change in the way computers looked. Going back in history, Windows 11 is not that different as XP in terms of visual appeal.
-Buffy The Vampire Slayer Seasons both 5 & 6 aired. Also Angel seasons both 2 &3 aired.
-Ultimate X-Men comic books launched.
-Harry Potter and The Sorcere's Stone movie and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire book
-Kingdom Hearts I videogame came out. Oh my!! I discovered this around 2015, and it became my all time favorite videogame
-Age of Empires II videogame released. Probably one of the videogames that I played more in my life. Very addictive.
-Karma album by Florida power-metal band Kamelot, one of my all-time favorite album, saw the light of day. I still hear it nowadays.
-Spirited Away: in my top 5 of all time animes.
-Monster Inc. and Shrek: nuff' said.
Plus: Alias, Smallvile, The X-Files... definitely a good year.
