Let me dream here. Somebody walks up to you, hands you a Faith spin off. They offer you all the money you could possibly need, and free rein to use any actor/character who's ever been in the Buffyverse or any tv actor within reason. What do you think would be necessary to make it work? What format? How would it be distinctive from Buffy or Angel? What kind of tone would you go for? Theme music and scoring? Focus on action or drama more? What kinda big bad?...

ooooh...this is FUUN! Thanks for posting...

First of all, I would definately get Joss, Marti, and Jane on the team. Fabumundo. After, Christophe Beck for the score, 'cause I know nothin' about makin' music. Hmm...

For a cast to go along with the main character...hmmm...depends on when the season would start. AFTER Angel, I'd get Andy Hallet to run into Faith, and join the "team"...but there wouldn't be much of a team like in BTVS, or ATS. She would be alone. It's not all happy Scoobies or "Angel's Avengers"...she works in darkness, alone, that how it was, and how it always will be. She'll try and fit in with a team, but finds it hard, and starts going out by herself....

she'll find a potential, and try and help her find her way to Buffy, but then decide that she's big enough to take care of one girl, and wants to train her. But in the end, the girls ends up being killed by a bigger force...the bigger force would be...

MISS KITTY FANTASTICO RISEN FROM THE GRAVE!!!

lol JUST KIDDIN'...

Naw...something...something that's not a demon, or person, or evil being. She'll keep fighting throught each day, fighting the evil thing, when it turns out, the big bad, is herself. She's her own worst enemy...

the something happens, blah blah...filler stuff...

she meets a cute guy, falls in love, experiences what it's like to actually be loved, :hearton: then he.... :sad24: of course, DIES.

Later, she thinks that she is the one killing all these people, but needs to realise it's not her before it's too late....

STAY TUNED NEXT WEEK FOR MORE!! lol jk. :rolleyes0

DRAMA DRAMA!
Thats very...dark 🙁 but great non the less 😀

I'm gonna have to think on this one before i post.

I would take the money and run. Because I just can't imagine a Faith show. Faith is all about mystery and so much of that would be lost to have a show about her.

I would then take the money, which I assume would be any amount that I needed, and make a Buffy movie. Which Faith would be a part of.

Nice...😀

The more I think about it, the more I think Faith would be better off with a mini series, rather than a movie or a full series. Part of the fun of Faith in the Buffyverse was that her presence (Especially post S3, obviously) was such an event. We know barely anything about her, and I'm inclined to think that that's largely how it should stay. It makes her more interesting and dangerous if we don't know everything about her.

Which reminds me - I think Faith should be the most dangerous person in the show. I don't want to see a complete Touched by an Angel turnaround. She's still working at the whole superhero thing. No matter how much easier it would be to just draw a line under all of the murdering etc... as a viewer, I'd want to know the writers haven't forgotten that she is very capable of killing somebody, and she doesn't need to lose her soul to do it. So yeah, if and when she does pick up groupies, it'd be nice if they stayed afraid of her... And she better not have quit any of the following- Drinking, Smoking, Swearing, Partying, Loving/Hating Men, Flirting with Everything.

Music wise... Christophe Beck baby. Never put a foot wrong. I'd wanna hear Faith's Little Miss Muffet theme just once... And y'know, I can't help imagining opening credits rolling over Key by the Devics from Radio Sunnydale....

The look of the show itself - given the choice, I'd love it to look like the hybrid offspring of The (US) Ring, Pitch Black and the Crow. Washed out by day, dark as hell by night. Everybody looks cooler when you can't see their eyes - you can't tell what they're thinking, and Pitch Black gets that completely, it's fabulous. It has the most artful use of lighting ever. The Crow is just gorgeous and dark, and has a nice mean feel to it. And The Ring is the only film I can recall where daylight is just as suffocatingly freaky as the dark. They actually tried for a similar effect in the first few eps of Tru Calling, but it disappeared rather quickly...

Vampires in the Buffyverse tend to reflect the world they're in. Buffy's vampires were always sort of the punchline to a joke, and Angel's were just faceless fightmeat. I'd love Faith's vamps to be dangerous again... halfway between Fray's lurks and the big walking sets of jaws from 30 Days of Night, y'know? Not a sniff of Anne Rice. Because Faith's world should be that little bit more brutal. I mean, I don't wanna see her get the crap kicked out of her every week, but I'd like the risk to be ever present, if that makes sense. Lots of cuts and bruises, but not completely over the top. I'd like a step away from Eastern style fight choreography too... lovely for Buffy (Sometimes stunning) but Faith's fighting style (lets call it "Hit things til they stop") doesn't really lend itself to wire work or showy acrobatics, with the posssible exception of the occasional scorpion kick. So lots of things should get smashed, because strong as she is, our Faith doesn't waste time being graceful... The best template I can think of is, oddly, Kill Bill - nobody ever wins a fight in Kill Bill, they just aren't the one dead when it's over. So really, really mean Vampires. Not cute, cuddly, ooh-they-lurve-me vampires. Human looking, but lethal. But for the big bad? I'd love it to be somebody human, because that opens up a whole world of moral complexities. She can't kill somebody like that... or could she? Or will she... or should she?

Other cast members... I'd love to see Lockley show up. For one thing, I think Lockley deserved to be wrapped up a little better. It was cool to see her have the epiphany and all, but still, I'd like to have seen where she went with it. For another thing, Lockley and Faith come from two completely different worlds, and I think it'd be a nice contrast... Lorne would be nice (I love Lorne), but I think long term, he might undermine the ultra mean tone I'd be aiming for. I'd love to see Xander, because I think there was a whole lot of drama they could have mined out of that in S7 that they didn't. Bear in mind, she did nearly kill him once, and also, that he himself has made some extremely dubious choices (See Becoming II for details) But more than anything I'd love to see Wesley. Again, because of the character drama... they sort of didn't have the time to spend exploring that in S4 of Angel, but they touched on it just enough to be intriguing... plus, you could weave it into the plot with the First... it's worth remembering that Faith probably doesn't know what happened in NFA. I'm torn about the potentials... on the one hand, giving Faith the responsibility of stopping somebody doing what she did would show how much she's grown... on the other hand, the parallels with Buffy/ Dawn could be too much, and it could detract from her personal drama.

And you know what else I'd like to see again? Faith's particular brand of freaky ass dreams. Faith so rarely lets anybody know what's going on in her head, it's quite something to see how messed up it really is in there. One of my favourite Faith scenes ever is the Picnic scene in TYG... just because it was such a shock that that was the person Faith really wanted to be. Plus it'd be a nice way to revisit all the places that fell into the desert in Chosen... 😀 I'd love to watch present-day-Faith watch S3-Faith in action, and I'd really love to see Faith's attitude to the First Slayer... I'd love to know what else went on during her coma...

And I never want to see another crossbow. The juxtaposition of old and modern was great for Buffy, but somehow I don't see it working for Faith... any of that stuff... prophecies, or ancient tombs, or olde worlde weapons just don't strike me as her thing. Pipes, knives, planks, broken glass, furniture and occasionally, ceilings, have all served her perfectly well before. Having said that, it might be cool to see her play with a sword... just once...

And it'd be really nice if the writers were able to keep Faith's motivations and actions a complete mystery to us until afterwards, because every time they've done that it's been great tv... Goddamn, I wish they'd make a spin off...

I agree. Cause Faith just can't tell anyone what she's really like, what she really feels, cause that wouldn't Faith if she did. This is a good way for us to find out little things that she'd never share with us otherwise.. (And, I love her dreams too so.. It's a great thing..)

This is a great thread, I'd love to hear more ideas, just don't have any myself, writing for tv just isn't my thing..

Wow... people are full-on spin-off people! Like, Comma saud, I'd run away with the cash. :vpleased:

But if I was forced to, I'd probabaly make it something about her childhood or how her life is after Chosen (she'd leave the Scoobies). Not sure about the music and stuff though... I'd hire Jill to do all the other stuff for me! :tongue05:

I'd totally see Faith the series as Quantam Leapish, we'd never spend too long in one place, she'd always be on the run. Maybe she's recruited by the reformed council to be head of their new ops team. She gets to choose the team, they send her and her posse whereever they need to be. These aren't Buffy missions, they always risk not coming back. There's not really a lot of magic, it's more hard fighting. I'm kinda torn between having Faith be the only person we know, or if I want someone like Gunn or Riley in there. Maybe Gunn and some ex-initative guys or something.

There's always the risk of turning her into the Littlest Hobo though.

Stupid dog... stupid theme tune... Goddamn, I think I'm gonna cry again. 🙁

Okay, so I'm thinking movie.
Joss Whedon/ Wes Craven/ Paul W. Anderson

It would probably border Horror, but maybe a little more action based....

Whistler (see BTVS S2) is back in the picture as Faiths guide/ wanna be watcher. She now resides in Vegas. Lots of evil, lots of action. Connor aides her in slaying at times. He sought her out after the death of his father. She has a lover named Urban (played by either Vin Diesel, or Morris Chestnut). He dabbles in dark arts (kinda warlock material).
The Big bad- The Mayor. Dick Wilkins III. Back to punish Faith for failing him, and reverting back to a do-gooder. He's brought back by a porthole to a hell demension accidentally opened by Amy while she's absent-mindly frolicing with dark magics.....
Music probably a mixture. Sarah McLaughlin for some of those sad or reminiscing moments. Maybe Some Eminem, The Cure, Dido, Some Rob Zombie for those heavy slaying Moments, and Evanesence.
I'll add more when I think of it.... :tongue05:

So Faith gives up the Slaying and gets in to Med School but has to get a job in a morgue where she keeps reliving days to help right wrongs on behalf of people who've been unjustly killed...nah, too far-fetched - they'd cancel it after one season 😉

I liked the original rumours for the Faith show which sounded like Faith the road warrior with her faithful sidekick Ghost Spike - or was that just my extrapolated fantasy from the rumours? So I'll stick with that and go with Faith in post-apocalypse LA with her faithful sidekick Ghost Wes - with further spirit help from Dennis (freed from the confines of Cordy's apartment after the final battle) and possibly even Ghost (or at least PTB) Cordy on a recurring basis...

Matt Lillard would def. have to be in it...... That's as far as I got! But this is an awesome idea for a topic! Keep the great ideas coming, peoplez!

Hmmm... if they were going to introduce ghost-characters, could be interesting to use her victims. I quite like the idea of a badly decayed Allan Finch following her around, but that might be a little too... American Werewolf in London.

Easy one or me this because i've always had an idea for my Faith show wishlist.

First up we centre the series on the newly forming Watchers Council, which would mean that we could have Giles as a recurring character as the senior Watcher. The Council becomes aware that some of the slayers around the world are being gathered by a new demonic force who is brainwashing them into becoming his army. Giles decides that he needs to form a team who could be a strike force unit for the Council and travel the world, finding the slayers that are being hunted by this demon and stopping it from becoming any more powerful whilst attempting to stop it altogether.

He chooses Faith to lead the team and Robin, who she is still involved with, accompanies her along with Andrew, who is to act as the Council liason. As part of their first mission they stumble across Spike and Illyria who have also become involved in taking down the demon somehow (there is backstory to this explaining why these two want the demon dead but i'm rushing here okay! 😉). The five of them agree to work together until the demon lord is dead.

So that's the basics. Main cast would be Faith, Spike, Robin, Illyria and Andrew with Giles as a recurring character. Hey i can dream right? 😀

That is actually part of the backstory. During the battle in the alley Angel is captured as a portal opens up and Angel gets pulled into the SP's dimension. Before Spike or Illyria can follow (Gunn is dead already) the portal closes and the remaining demons leave as they were never interested in the others anyway, they only came for Angel.

Spike decides that it's up to him to try find Angel and Illyria agrees to help (mainly as she has nothing better to do and nowhere else to go). After consulting a Warlock they are told that there is only one demon left on earth who has any link to the Circle of the Black Thorn, that being the same demon Faith is hunting. To get to the SP's home dimension they have to use the blood of this demon to open the portal. That is why they are hunting him down.

Plus this gives a damn good reason why Angel wouldn't be seen in the Faith show as well! 😉

I think someone needs to write a fan fic :)
Plus, it would give Faith a darn good reason to keep on fighting, if it would save Angel. As she said herselfd "Angel was the one person in my life who never gave up on me".

This is such a cool thread! 🙂 I would love to see a spin off with Faith. She is such a cool character! I feel a fan fic coming on. 😉
