ok this is an episode i never really understood the end of, after just watching it for my 2nd time it hit me again, basicly did cordeilia wake up, she must of everyone saw her, and who let her have her last day, the senior partners or the powers that be, im not sure as she convinced angel to stay with wolfram and hart, does anyone know?

That was Cordelia's spirit that was walking around and talking to everyone. Remember the body in the hospital bed, where Cordy pulled the curtain across to stop Wesley and Angel seing her? THAT was Cordelia's body.

Bascailly, The Powers that Be allowed Cordy to have one last day, to get Angel 'back on track.' Cordy said herself, The Powers that Be owed her one after everything she went through the previous year.

When Cordy tells Angel it's time for her to leave because that wasn't her world any more, it's basically her way of leaving before Angel found out the truth. But she loved him to much to leave like that, and she came back for one last kiss. When the phone rings and Cordy tells Angel he has to get that, it's the hospital calling to tell Angel that Cordelia has died. He says it's imposible, as Cordy's stand behind him, but when he turns and she's gone, he realizes it was her spirit. And then the hospital tells him that Cordelia never did wake up.

*sniffles* Ok, where'd I leave the tissues?

nicely explained, and now you've got me a little sad too :(
*hug for Lyri...and a tissue* Cordy dieing has to be my second favorite saddest moment. Following, of course, Fred's death. And leading into Doyle's death, and then Wesley's death.

"Remember the body in the hospital bed, where Cordy pulled the curtain across to stop Wesley and Angel seing her? THAT was Cordelia's body."

Not to be completly stupid but I never knew that 😛.

This episode was such a tear jerker, I couldnt hold my tears back when Cordy was trying to tell Angel she was leaving the ' Il be seeing you' line seemed to get me the most.
It also made me realise how much I missed her in Season 5.

your signature is awesome! Anya looks gorgeous in "I'll be Mrs." -- oh and "I'll be seeing you" sends me into depression. That line was SO sadd!
Ok - I knew that it was Cordy's "spirit" or whatever - I was never confused on that part.

What I am not clear about is whether Charisma Carpenter didn't WANT to be in Season 5 or Joss didn't have anything for her...? I think she had just had her baby & wanted to be a "stay at home mom" for a while, but she agreed to do that one episode to bring closure to her character...

Anybody know the scoop?

I think she was let go.
... and who let her have her last day, the senior partners or the powers that be, im not sure as she convinced angel to stay with wolfram and hart

Good question.
I'm not sure of the answer - I've always interpreted it as the PTB because 'they owed her one' and also because she is plainly disappointed that Angel has come to work at W&H. I don't think that Cordy convices Angel to stay at W&H so much as convinces him to trust and believe in himself and that he'll find a way out.

Joss let Charisma go cause she was pregnat during S5 and writers didn't know what else to do with her character.
And i'm guessing also for more of a Angel Spike show instead of a Angel Cordy show.

The one thing I don't understand about it being her spirit...Aren't spirits meant to be, like, uncorporeal?
