Zoe vs Jayne

i was watching serenity (again) today 😀 and something occurred me. when they were leaving their first job; when the reavers came, Mal told Zoe to take the wheel, leaving Jayne to fight with him. this made me think that maybe Mal thought of Jayne as a better fighter than Zoe. but then, that didnt make sense to me because i figure Mal would trust Zoe more because they had fought in the war together and maybe Jayne just didnt know how to drive, but that didnt really make sense to me either. what do you guys think?
 
Perhaps Mal didn't trust Jayne with the ship.

We all know how much Jayne would like to take control. He even says so! 😀
 
The way I saw that scene , Mal put her in the position of responsibility, because she's the one he trusts.

On the other hand if you're asking who would win in a face to face fight between Jayne and Zoe, I'd say Jayne. On the other, other hand if Jayne and Zoe met on the battlefield in a war scenario, I'd say it could go either way, but my money would be on Zoe.
 
I go with what N4H said, It was probably purley because he trusts Zoe more i mean they fought togther in the Alliance war, and Jayne well he is unpredicable.
