I like the concept and really like Jane Levy. It could end up just being too quirky and in your face. But I am willing to give it a watch. Thoughts?

I like Jane Levy too and I've got this set to record. It's obviously building on the success of other recent musical tv shows, and I'm happy to give it a go.

This sounds like a story based on the movie "What Women Want" which is about a playboy who can suddenly hear what women are thinking. But this seems to be a bit better because it is about both sexes and it sounds like it's going to be good.

That's true never thought of that link. I would expect it to be at least better than that shallow crap yeah. Also got Earshot vibes.

Earshot, yeah, I never thought of that.
I saw that as a trailer that kept repeating most of itself, makes me wonder if the show's best parts were in the trailer. But I shouldn't concern myself as the program isn't likely to ever be aired in Australia.

Yeah that happens sometimes with trailers. From the trailer its hard to read. It doesn't look that great, but then they might just be going for the easiest way to sell it to a main stream audience. There's enough in the idea and casting (notice Lauren Graham in there too) to make me want to give it a watch. Besides its on Freeview over here so no great commitment.

It does have the benefit of name actors singing, just hope they can come up with some who weren't in 30 Rock or The Office, named actors only in America.

Well those shows had really talented casts so nothing wrong with that, ha!

Possibly in the case of 30 Rock, but The Office - a really talented cast? That wouldn't be my opinion.

Some are better than others. I think a lot of it is just to do with good casting. The likes of Carell and Wilson I think are excellent. Kaling I like a lot and is actually quite underrated. Some of the other supporting actors just work because they look like normal people who would work in a Office. But I know what you mean about that sort of casting being distracting in other shows.

I recognise the name of Carell but his script in the show is poor, the show seems to rely on slapstick comedy. Jerry Lewis and the stooges were good but English actors took well to slapstick comedy. Carell has shown he is a very capable actor, but only when a good script is offered.

Each to their own. I think Carell's great in the show and I enjoy the comedy and characters.
The girl is really cute and seems likeable, but the singing - PASS! Lol, I can tolerate a musical episode but not a musical show. Too much for me. Getting Crazy Ex-Girlfriend vibes from it because of the tunes (the Rachel Bloom one, might’ve gotten the name wrong)

No that's the show I was trying to remember the title too!
