I drove all the way to my favourite Pizza Hut, only to discover that it's closed now. Luckily, I remembered that Target sells the Pizza Hut brand! 🍕 🍕🍕

And to reward my truck for NOT stalling, I also bought something called Tire Wet; that stuff makes you tires all shiny and new-looking. It's my usual brand and I can't recommend it enough! My truck would know the difference if I used anything else. 😄

Good day! Rent inspection went well. They were very happy, said everything I have done the garden has added value to the house. New dishwasher is in, new light globes, fixed the gates and doors for me. I think that is a lesson to all landlords, keep the rent low, and it pays off for them too!

Thunderstorm rolled in this morning and there is lots of random thunder but no rain. Hurts my head 🙁 The dogs are exhausted in this awful hot weather too, so at least we are all staying settled and quiet tonight.

My kmart order arrived this morning, so both dogs have new orthopedic beds. I had to chop one to size to fit in the crate, so I hope she likes it, because I cant return it now! I also have my new little aquarium and have set it up with water to start the cycle before I get fish. Got new socks too 😀 Good buys for me. I've very happy with it all, despite the headache.

If this weather forecast is correct, there's going to be power lines snapping and outages. It's pretty windy where I am, but nothing crazy. Yet.

People are being evacuated from Pacific Palisades because of a wildfire. So far 200+ acres have burnt. Plus, there's a massive fire downtown....the wind here (at home) is 9 miles per hour, which is no surprise to me. Just took the trash out and my hair is all over the place. Kinda resembles an angry tumbleweed! 😄

Today was soooo weird. Left at 7:30am to avoid the usual traffic, but the streets were nearly empty. The sky was dark orange, and all the black smoke/fog almost looked like a big tornado. The few people who were on the road had their high beams on, as did I. (It was one of the FEW times I didn't wear my shades!) Seriously felt like I was in a zombie movie.

Thought I was going to see the doctor today, but turns out the office was closed. Universal Studios Hollywood is also closed until further notice. Good thing I haven't bought my VIP pass yet!

In the meantime, I'm watching more Megatron videos. I just love how he roasts visitors. Pretty sure I can handle it! 😉

I think I will swap shopping for men to shopping for fish for a while. Last date seemed really promising, he lived on 10 acres and wanted to move to acreage in the karri forest but then told me he would marry me next week if I would have his babies. Mate, you're 44, if you wanted babies, you should have thought about that 20 years ago. I have had a few in the last week over 40 who went from promising childfree singles to wanting babies from me very quickly. I dont think its us women who hear the tick of the biological clock once we hit the 40's! I might have to take myself off the market until its truly not an option anymore. Its like their new years resolution was to start breeding.

Also, the mining culture has ruined this state. Every mining man I have spoken to is a carbon copy of the last. Extremely rich, divorced, tattoos, jet ski, travel, gym bro. SO boring. They have nothing to their personalities outside of whats popular on site. They say they wont be held by the golden handcuffs and will retire soon... after they pay off the half a million of debt. I used to think being with a miner would be great, they are gone most of the time and have a lot of money, but even having to put up with them for their two weeks off would send me straight back to the loony bin.

Here fishy fishy fishy! I have a nice new aquarium for you, come be my new and better hobby.

Went to see my mom this morning. I haven't gone since Christmas Eve, mainly because the truck does NOT like going uphill. So I took the long away around through Culver City, which was a bit nerve-wracking since I'm riding dirty. Culver City police are great people, but also very observant! And I have no insurance, plus a 2021 tag. 💀

Anyway, mom was having physical therapy when I arrived. She really brightened up seeing me and she remembered my name. I was shocked. She was coherent and lively, which is definitely a blessing.

I also noticed that my stepfather had placed a new, framed photo of himself in front of the one of me and my brother. That was quickly rectified. 😄

My day is not going well, I've no hot water, my book is still not at the library, it's cold and I almost didn't have my tea this morning.

Bad day for me too. Woke up with a headache. Got the dogs walked. Tested the pond and had to do a water change cos it hasnt adjusted to the new fish. There were so many birds eating grapes in the grapevine, Im sure they appreciated the water playground. I want to move the loach fish and spent a few hours trying to catch any of them with zero luck. Tired to cook bacon in the airfryer and forgot its crap in the airfryer.

The dogs went mental inside this afternoon when my headache and heat intolerance were at its peak. I really, really didnt want to go outside again but the blonde dog demanded it. I was standing on the edge of the pond when I heard the poodle screaming at something. A snake under the hedge. Scared the shit out of me. It was 2 hours ago and the dogs seem ok, but its so scary to see snakes so close to my puppies. It was a snakey afternoon and I knew it. Next time I will not let the blonde dog win that argument to go outside when it is 38C.

Wanted to watch Eclipse but its not on netflix and this new laptop doesnt have a CD drive. There should be a rule that streaming has the whole lot at once or not at all! I gave in to painkillers so at least the headache is slightly better, but I still feel terrible.

Another bad day. In bed early. Hopefully I actually sleep well tonight. I might have to start lists of things again because Im feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Lots to do but no focus. At least we got some rain today so the garden will be happy.

I signed up to get a gadget from my auto insurance company that would measure my driving and - I hope - get me a discount. I didn't realize it had to be plugged in under the dashboard and steering column, in a "data port" that I never knew was there. I drove to a park to have room to keep my door open and crouch down to find it. Never was able to see it, but felt around and finally got it in. After all this, it had better get me my bucks!

Then I had a lovely walk in that park. It was sunny, for once!

Head still hurts. Had some people over for morning tea, but the whole time I was just worried about my fish and waiting for them to leave. Im so glad my coffee is decaffeinated.

My goal for tomorrow is to just get the dogs walked in the morning and then chill out watching the meeting on zoom. I'll be happy if I achieve that. Headache is getting annoying now.

Had a clogged sink that was taking several minutes to drain, so I took out the elbow trap and the drain adaptor and got rid of the gunk. There was a lot of it. The sink is now running free and does not leak. I used 4-hour cure silicone. Expensive, but worth it.

I decided to stay home today, since there was absolutely NO reason for me to leave the house. I feel so peaceful and relaxed. I haven't stayed home all day in quite awhile, and it's like a gift to myself. No driving, no people, just me and my teddy bear. We're lounging on the futon, enjoying each other's company.

Honestly, I haven't felt this content in ages. ✨

Friend from work texted about hanging out. They're out a few weeks due to knee surgery.
Helped them do some grocery shopping. Then we hung out played video games & shows
They made pot roast in crock pot. They used to be chef. So, of course, it was delish! 🥰

My brother finally proposed, they've been together 20 years, but I kinda just want them to elope. I don't want them to have the big family wedding, mostly as I'd have to be involved, and I don't want to be!

I got out today and it very therapeutic. Staying home was relaxing, but after two days I had cabin fever. Dealing with people wasn't so bad...in fact, I enjoyed it today. I must've given off a good vibe because I got a few compliments on my hair and outfit. (From strangers, no less)

I now realise that humans DO need to interact with one another, at least sometimes. And my mother always said, "When you're alone, your only company is a crazy person." 😄

My days are getting better, the dogs and bun and fish add some delight. Had to go to the doctor today and sat next to a lady who ended up being covid positive and coughing all over the waiting room. I was stupid not to wear a mask in there. But at least, if I get covid, I get out of the next appointment!
