Ohhh full moon. NOPE Im staying home haha. Dont need that energy to drive me tonight!

We were back dancing at the Capitol last night and it was the St. Patrick's Day dance. A lot of people were dressed in green, including a few Leprechauns but the guy who had the best outfit was this one:

Is the leprechaun carrying the guy or is it an optical illusion? Either way, he wasn't dancing close with anyone.

It's not raining, so I'm going out. Haven't decided where yet, but I'm going.

In the meantime...

The baby fish, Lorne and Doyle have discovered the filter outlet. Doyle especially, swims up and lets the current push him down and along the back of the tank. It's so cute and funny to see them doing zoomies. The other fish in the outside pond seem constantly hungry! Every time they hear the back door they come to the top and beg to be fed. Hook is like a shark, fully attacks and shakes his flakes. SO funny to watch!

I went down to the coast on sunday and my back is still suffering from the drive. I have had a busy week socialising. I didnt go for a walk on monday morning and two seperate neighbours came to check on me because they didnt see me go walkies. That is very sweet of them. A friend came for morning tea on monday too. I went to ministry today. I have another lady coming over tomorrow morning to show me the llama blanket she is working on - so I already regret tonights drinks. The pub has had a makeover and they have hell fancy lounges in the side bar. And a coffee machine! I hope it pays off for them, and maybe I should go over with a book one night to make it pay off, a little, for them. The last owners were good mates, but so over it. The new owners want to make it work. Pubs are a tough gig!

Going to go out to rake poop in the horse paddocks tomorrow. I am looking forward to that. The sun should be behind clouds. I can bag some up to bring to my home compost pile too. The big huge mare has to be moved, she is a very very sweet horse, but absolutely massive. The two three year olds have been nutso in the rain, but the one I call Dawnie loves a brush. She should be racing within the year and part of me wants to ask the owner if I can start prepping her because she is SO ready to be in work.

The town show(fair) is on today. Im debating if I take the dogs to have a look just before it starts, or to have a shower first and go when it is in full swing.

Im hoping that there is food so that I dont have to cook today, but the only food stall happening that I know for sure, is run by the primary school. And I wouldn't touch that germ gremlin food if you paid me!

It shrinks every year, but also gets bigger crowds because its free entry and lots of free stuff for kids. It attracts people from the inland towns.

I had a stall the first year I was here - when it was double the size, and we didnt even break even. Its a long day work for no pay, so I wouldn't bother again. Still, its nice to have something to do in town. And I like the giant pumpkin and working dog competition.

Its really just a reason for the farmers and wives to get pissed at the sports club while the kids are entertained on the bouncy castle.

Well, it's still underway. but so far so good! My boyfriend made me breakfast today which was nice. I am now at the library, working on my online liquor employee license training, which I need for my new job. After, I think I'm going to go on a little jog and enjoy the nice weather.

You're looking forward to shoveling manure? And I thought I'd heard it all...

Sounds fun to me...

You got the job, congrats!
Visited my mom, got some chocolate bars, and gave myself a pedicure. I swear to God, my toe nails looked prehistoric. It got to the point where I could've perched on a tree branch. But they look great now!

I found 5 more fry. I don't think many others are going to survive as my big fish have NOT been hungry this weekend... they are full from eating their own babies.

I dont want to count my fry before they are fish - but I have started cycling another "pond" by the front door. Its just an old plastic packing box (120L) and it might not hold the water, but I'll give it a go and see. I chucked the umbrella plant in there to start it off. I have heard these can root through pond lining and I do NOT want it to do that to the big pond. So it can live in this box. Provided the box holds water! I guess I shall see in the morning if it has cracked. At least I have something on the go anyway, and I can use one of my existing indoor pumps in it because its partially under the front verandah.

Now I have 3 fry inside, I caught them from the big pond last night. Tiny Dancer, Elon and Elton. It looks like I have 3 tiny loach fry too - but these are so so so tiny that I do not hold much hope - how can something so tiny grow into a fish? I cant imagine it. Plus Lorne and Doyle are still in there and the loaches could absolutely fit in their mouths now.

Lorne and Doyle are probably big enough to go in the big pond now, but I would like to watch their development so I know what I am in for with the next lot. Plus they dont really have any colour yet and I want to see what patterns they get! I can only tell them apart now by their different eyeballs. I wont be able to see their eyeballs once they are in the big pond.

I have the kiddy pools set up out the back, but I dont think these will be deep enough for goldfish. They will be for loaches though! Im not entirely happy with the placement but it works for now and will be easy to cover in winter. I like that I havent spent any money haha. Im thinking solar pumps for those. So that will be money, in a couple months.

I got one block away from home when the truck suddenly wouldn't accelerate. Since this happened before, I know that its VERY low on transmission fluid. So I can't drive it until I get more fluid in there. It's kind of a relief, actually. It's very stressful driving a vehicle that's moody.

Luckily there's an Auto Zone close by, so I can walk up there for the fluid. Not today, of course! I'm far too comfortable at the moment.

Still too bloody hot to do much. Hoping this is the last of it. Went walkies with the dogs early, then went up to feed the horses and then did a water change for the fishies. Now inside under the air con, with the dogs napping on the couch. I doubt I will be able to do much more outside today. Will probably spend the afternoon binge watching Alone and window shopping online for solar water pumps.

Went to play night golf. That was an experience. I'm glad I wasnt drinking or I would have come home with even more bruises! It was very rowdy.

It would have been a lot easier if I had seen the golf course in the daylight, or had some idea of where we were and where to hit the ball. The advert just said to turn up and they would provide everything we needed, new people welcome. But like everything here, the new people welcome bit is just for show.

They gave us glowing golf balls and set us loose. I had to try to find clubs in a dark shed behind the BBQ, no torches, no rules, no clue. My teammates were smashed and stumbling before we hit the first ball. Couldn't even find the ladies tee at all. Turns out, the fairway is dirt and the greens are sand. Sparks flew on nearly every swing.

They had a ute driving around the course with an esky full of piss on the back. My team had at least 8 drinks before we got to the green. The boys hit a ball that hit my buggy, I fell off the side of the fairway and the buggy collapsed. We only played 3 holes and it felt far more difficult than 18. I dont think anyone hit a ball into the hole at all. I'm surprised no one was injured or killed out there haha. We had to bushbash through the scrub to get back to the clubhouse. I duno how the ones in thongs managed to get through unharmed!

The stars were spectacular and it was a very nice night to be outside. I didnt hang around for drinks after, I was exhausted and nearly hit two kangaroos on the drive out there so was keen to get home. Almost needed a 4wd just to get up the driveway.

I like the golf bit and the course is close by, but an expensive hobby to have. Would be cheaper to get a pony.

I went out too, to a quiz night at my mother's local village hall. I quite enjoy quiz nights, I don't however enjoy the constant bickering between my mother and her twin sister. Also the fact that neither seems to know to keep their voices down!

We came middle of the pack, could have been higher without so much bickering on answers!

Another day at the London Vintage Radio Club and I had made up my mind that I wouldn't bid on anything and it looked like I wouldn't be bringing any more capital equipment home. But at the end of the silent auction, the guy who owned a capacitor tester said, "I want it gone. It's free to the first person who wants it. So it is now sitting in the hall waiting for me to install the two 9-volt batteries it needs. The Subaru is kind of sickly because of the bad connector to the engine wiring harness, so the Miata got the job. It performed flawlessly for the full 390 km today. Starting at my girlfriend's place made the trip 45 km longer.

Boss is going on holiday next week, so yesterday she said she would work tomorrow (today). This morning I get a message, can I work today.

So yeah, I will be getting the extra hours this month.

I couldn't find my wallet and immediately panicked. My debit card has A LOT of money on it (for once!) and I was actually ready to cry. I tore this place apart looking for the wallet, but zero joy. Once I'd left it in the truck overnight, so I dashed out there in my robe. Looked under the seats, in the glove box, everywhere. Didn't find it!

Came back inside and prepared to cancel the debit card. Guess what? Wallet was on the bed, under the nightstand. Grrrr. I really need to control this manic behavior! 😄
