I would , but have not been here long and don't want to start sounding all gushy. Might lose my street cred😉
 
For me the board now is almost bittersweet. It's a flickering candle of a remembrance. It's remembering what I perceived as the heights, the people on the forum at that time, and the different type of community. Time has changed both the forum and myself, and I come back to remember, rekindle maybe some of who or what I was then. It's a hollow reminder that nothing lasts, and the times I had on the forum near a decade ago, which I thought would always somehow be the norm, have all faded and drifted away. Things taken for granted. And times lost.

So now, the board to me, is reminder. A reminder to appreciate everything. Even Spuffy... well.. maybe not Spuffy.
 
Just wanted to say how much BB keeps me sane! I love reading threads on here and different perspectives on the shows and offtopic areas (most of the time lol). I've seen many members come and go here but I've also made many good friends and have met a few in person as well (that are still friends!! lol). I've enjoyed competitions here from cake making to icon art, win or lose, it's been so much fun (and I have mugs to prove it lol). Everything I've learnt in photoshop I have learnt from members of BB! I've had the pleasure of working with a team here as well as now being a long standing member. I've seen fun times, stressful times and down right hilarious times on BB. And I am still so thankful for it's existence. So thank-you to Buffy Summers, and all team members past and present and all members over the years up to the current day. 🙂
 
It's hard to put into words what this place means to me. Mostly because it would sound silly to anyone reading from the outside world. But this place will always be some sort of home to me, I've met some truly amazing people here. Some which are gone, some which are still here and kickin'! This place might not be as big as it used to be, but it sure will always be special. Thank you Buffy Summers and all the other staff over the years who have made this place so awesome. I know you guys work really hard, and I hope that you can see the pay off, because this place has made a big difference in my life. If anything it at least improved my debating skills 😉 And to all the members, keep on watching! You guys are awesome!

This place keeps a world I'm very fond of alive. But that's only a small part of it- I've experienced introducing Buffy and co. to a younger generation and I think it still speaks strongly to lots of new people.
I think that's why a site like this actually matters.

I've been able to share some of my own experience on this site and I truly hope that lots more newcomers find this place, where they can enjoy a truly unique television show with like-minded people.
I hope that when they do come they can talk with lots of other Buffy fans here who also happen to be smart thinkers, warm welcomers, talented debaters, and funny people who lead interesting lives.
I hope that this place can enrich their lives as it has mine.

Also special praise for all the mods/staff- who work hard to keep this place active, interesting and most of all fun! 🙂

On a site note my niece is going to start taking a Tae Kwon Do class on Wednseday- she was inspired by watching Buffy. Aw.
 
Well, what to say... it has been a good journey so far.
Think it's fun that I've now been around here for almost exactly half of the boards life time.
It's around 6 and a half years ago since I joined.

I am not the one who has got the most involved in neither the crazy fun or the plain crazy with all the drama.
But it has been a mix of interesting, fun and scary to watch all these craziness that has happened over the years I've been here.

Must admit that I at times can miss some old members that isn't around any more.
The old dorms when they where at their most active could be great fun.
That have mostly died off for some reason now.

Would still not trade it for the board we got today though.
I love the state the board is in at the moment.
Very little drama and lots of good discussion that actually is about BtVS, AtS, Firefly and so on.
Think that is just great and I love it.

It's very cool to have been a member here for so long, it's the only forum I've ever consistently returned to. I joined in 2008 and went through all the drama of the boards! It seems a bit calmer these days. 😀

On my life, it definitely made an impact. I've met so many people in person from the boards, some I still talk to a lot even if they're not around here anymore. Buffy is a great way to make friends - I think if a person likes Buffy they must, at least slightly, have the same worldview as me.
 
This forum has definitely had an impact on my life. I've been here for 10 years this coming May (pay no attention to my user stats, there was a THING! Who all remembers the Great Deletion of '06?!) and it's been one hell of a journey.

I met my best friend here, we literally went though everything together, all the drama, all the highs and lows, we were in each others' corners and we had each other's backs and even though she's not a part of the boards right now, she's still in my corner and I literally could not live my life without her.

It's been a wild ride for me - pleb to prefect to moderator and back to pleb, lol - but I can honestly say that there isn't much that I would change about my time here. Hindsight is twenty-twenty as they say and sure, there are some things I wish had gone differently, but it's all helped to get me to where I am now.

Happy Birthday, BB. I can honestly say my life wouldn't be the same without you.
 
Well I've been here almost a year, I think. I'm just sad I didn't find this place sooner. lol. I think this place is great. I don't get to talk much Buffy, and definitely not in depth, outside of here. So it's great to read everybody's posts and get different perspectives on things and see what other people think. I think this place has even made me a bigger Buffy geek. lol. There's a lot of great people on here and I enjoy talking with you guys. So here's to the BB! Happy Birthday!
 
When I first came to this board, I didn't like it. There was too much toxic shipper bullshit for my taste and to be honest, I thought you were all wankers but I stuck around because it was still the best place to actually talk about Buffy. I saw the potential, I knew that this was the right place to ask wrong questions and challenge entrenched views.

I like it more now. I like you more now. Even when I disagree with your opinions I make an effort to actually try to understand where you're coming from. That's something, right?

When I first came to this board, I wasn't in a good place - mentally and physically I was a mess, you know. I'm kinda fine now and I think that interacting with you actually did help me a bit. So thanks for that.
 
I've been here for a few years now, and had times when I've gone away from the board and come back again, it seems like this board is the home I always return to. I've made some great friends here, and had some great discussions too. I've been surprised at posts and I've had a great laugh at some too. Here's hoping this board continues in the same way in the future.
 
So I've been here for a year and a half now. Didn't realise that until I looked it up, time flies by! Feel like I'm in the odd position of feeling a bit like a newbie and a bit like veteran.

There are a lot of posters who were prolific when I joined who have left now which is a shame. At the the same time there's been lots of new people to join and keep the place quite lively.

I never really expected to stick around this long if I'm honest. Thought I'd get involved for a bit and ask a few questions and then drift off. I've really enjoyed it though and have had some great exchanges with lots of different people. Also surprised myself by joining in with off topic chat because I enjoy hearing people thoughts here. That's odd for me because I've never been involved in other forums.

So thanks to everyone who posts here and particularly the staff who keep it going! Happy birthday
 
I have not been here long at all. But even in this short time I'd like to just say what a great place this is, I never met people who liked Buffy as much as I did, it's such a great place for discussions about it. It has made me more of a Buffy geek too! Also there is always such a lovely welcome from members on this site, there's a great atmosphere and mix of opinions. I had no idea it was 13 years old, that's great! I sounded just a little bit gushy there lol.
 
Well, I can't believe the time that has gone by since I joined. I am grateful to have this place! I remember doing a re-watch a couple of years ago and I had a question about something in S2. Of course I went to the Google, and BB was the first link to pop up. I clicked it and ended up spending the next hour or so on the boards, checking it out! I have never been on a fan site like this, and I have to say I love it!! This is a place I feel so comfortable letting my "I love Buffy" pin show proudly. I have met so many awesome people through here, and someone who is now one of my best friends. (That's you, @nightshade!) I am so grateful to those who put the work into this site, and I love how it is ever evolving.
