'24' (Spoilers for UK)

Thought I read that Janis and Chloe are gonna meet, share screen time at some point. Should be interesting if so. Janis is actually one of the most likeable people at the FBI, seems to me.

We're at ep 6 in the States and things are getting ugly fast. I'm finding it hard to buy this Dubaku guy blackmailing the prez and not expecting it to end very badly"”no matter how in control he thinks he is. It's easier to buy the '24' Islamic terrorists as that irrational, fatalistic. Still no Jon Voight in sight.

"Bad guys" alway have too strong believe in themselves it seems. So not surprising. And as always the "real" or if you rather call it the ultimate/last bad guy isn´t shown from the start so it´s just to wait until midseason or something. One example is how they before the season started tried to make Tony the bad guy. It´ll be interesting to see how his develpment goes. Will he be completely good for the rest of the season? And that agent Walker would survive wasn´t a shock exactly.

So they explained how Tony 'lived', Christopher Henderson from season 5, so now I would like to see who is funding this little CTU reunion tour. Chloe said something interesting that she was a stay at home mom. I still think Kim (I'm rich because my superbad Grandpa got blowed up by my dad) Bauer is the paymaster. It seems the writers are not only coming up with something new but they are recycling characters.
Gotta agree with Kinslayer GB the initial bad guy is always a pawn used by the main villian. Go back to Redemption, Voight has ties with the bad guy and he did put the hit on the Presidents kid.
Speaking of the First Gentlman...tough little bugger to choke the secret service guy to death or landing on top of him. Either way he now has the memory stick back and it's only a matter of which geek cracks the code to read the financial info to point the finger at the moles in the White House. The way the story is rolling I see Chloe because the FBI mole hasn't been revealed yet and I still think it's someone higher who has not been shown yet. The cheating husband, Janis, and boss are not involved but haven't been cleared yet.

I'm sure you guys are likely right that Dubaku is a patsy and/or will be out of the picture before too long.

Kim Bauer providing the funds is just wacky enough to work (in the 24verse). Still kinda hard to believe she actually worked at CTU.

I don't know about that last part.

How cool would it be if Martha Logan didn't want any monies that Charles Logan left her after his death, so Aaron Pierce, now with the money, is using it to run things.

I love Aaron and know for a fact that he would fight to the death any kind of White House treason.

Ahh the last time we saw Martha she was listening to the voices and she plunged a knife into her evil ex-husband!! So unless the looney bin she is currently residing in allows her to handle her own finances I really can't see this one...even for 24verse.
But hey I could be wrong about Kim. Because a totally believable job she has now would be an operator of a mountain cougar re-hab center.

Enough meds could get her to a state where she could easily have Aaron have power of attorney.

That was a relapse after being placed in a dire situation - plus it was how many years ago.

I'm convinced (hoping) we'll get some Aaron.

Possible, possible but I think the writers might want to give 'something' back to Jack. He's lost his wife, father, brother, how many friends to the job. The only thing he has left is Kim, a family beneficiary of Grandpa Bauer. Plus Kim has a friendship with Chloe and Tony whereas Aaron has no 'feasible' ties with the rogue CTU crew.

For the time being they've given him Tony back.

I'm not denying their isn't some logic to your proposal, I'm just denying any knowledge of Kim Bauer because I REALLY don't want her back in any capacity.

BUT if the writers did want to give him his whiny, needy, whiney, pointless, whiney, infuriating, whiney, argument for abortion after birth (did I say whiney), his daughter, then I hope its in the last couple of episodes of the last season.

I saw the movie and now I am going to have to wait like a year until the box set hits Mexico so I'm BUMMED about that. 24 is about as good as TV gets.

On a side note I once met Keifer walking through the RIdeau Center in downtown Ottawa on his way to rehersals for a play he was doing at the National Arts center. Very down to earth guy. (think he was sporting a hangover which also endeared him to me haha)

Would that be the play he did with his mother Shriley Douglas?
Shirley's father Tommy was the architect to public health in Canada. She still strongly advocates for public health and my parents know her quite well. She is a very down to earth person so Keifer comes by it honestly.

What if Kim came back and this time the cougar does make her a kitty snack?

You hit the nail on the head. Didn't see the play myself tho!
So I guess Edmund Blackadder is full of glee...his favourite character has made an appearence Aaron Pierce!
I'm starting to get a weird vibe over the last few episodes. I think Mr. Buchanan is starting to become suspicious, I don't know why I just do.
Nice fake out with Garafolo's character looking like the mole and it's the other guy.

Yeah this was a good ep. I had the oily guy pegged as the mole from the beginning, but they faked me right out there at the last.

TT are you a Buffy/Angel fan as well? Do you know who David Fury is? He wrote this one. He was also in it. He was the guy talking to the president's daughter.

Do you mean you suspect Bill of something, or you think he suspects something about somebody? Tony is the one I'm worried about. I think he might turn. But you're supposed to think that. They make it obvious. Which makes me think it's not going to happen. Maybe he'll just die again.

The only 2 you can ever really be sure of are Chloe and Jack, and sometimes I wonder about Jack. 😉

Chloe's got a kid now. I'm thinking he'll be put into jeopardy before the end of the series, or they wouldn't go to the trouble of introducing him.

That would suck if Bill's been turned. Certain people just have to be incorruptible (Chloe, Aaron, etc..)

The David Fury cameo was fun. Also that guy who played the vengeful vamp in "Why We Fight" is Dubaku's associate en this ep.

I liked the "you're a little bitch" exchange between mole-man and Janis 🙂

I like Buffy and Angel but I have never been one to know who the writers etc are. But now that you pointed out who the guy was that is cool to know.
I'm saying I have a weird vibe about Bill because his wife used to work in the White House so I'm just thinking someone reached out to him. I don't think he is all the way bad just a person on the bubble who could be turned for some reason or another. Also I understand why Tony did not go forward, with the team, because of what he 'did' do before he saw the light. But the look on his face was not shame but instead suspicion, especially when he looked at Bill.
Well the show has already tortured Chloe's hubby so it is possible that their kid is put in the same situation as what Walker did to the baby last episode. The consequences of something like that are endless.
What happened to the memory stick that was given to the presidents husband by their son's fiance? She said it had all the financial records on it and it would expose who and why their son was killed. I thought that the memory stick was going to be a major plot point.

im guessing this may have been mentioned but did people see David Fury in last nights 24? Hes not a bad actor!

correct on both counts
This last episode reiterated why I LOVE CHLOE.
I was also loving the Aaron Pierce bit.
I don't think Bill is a villain, I think what we're doing here is building a team around Jack that are to be the trusted elite.

We've already been told that there will be a next season and that Keifer will be in it so I'm going out on a limb here and going to say that what we are seeing is the building of another CTU, one that will be run by Bill, have the full authority of the President but have a smaller team than previously.

I must admit I also want more Morris too - I actually liked him!

By the way, does anyone else think that the Bauer team (Bill, Tony, Pierce, Chloe and Bauer) is what seven years of this show has been building to, that this is the full fan wank fantasy team?

I LOVE IT!

Ohhh and I absolutely love Janis too - must have a thing for geeky women, but she is great. I'm going to love the Janis/Chloe interplay that is BOUND to come next episode.

dont think i could agree more on every point you made
A 'Team Bauer' for the final season? Ahhh maybe...it's a good idea but if Jack Bauer is going to get the final clock countdown next season wouldn't it be best if he is completely on his own? No Chloe, Bill or Tony to help him out just Jack and his experience and skills to get the bad guys.
I too am hoping that the writers put Janis and Chloe together. Ultimate computer geek meow scratch off in tv history! What will make the scene even better a referee named Morris. Ohhh the dialogue that will go back and forth.

I kind of like the idea of Team Bauer. Not sure about including Morris in it though. On the one hand, the actor plays the role just fine but on the other hand, seeing him gives me flashbacks of the horrible Season Six which just about turned me off of 24 forever.

Oh my two terrorist plots in 1 season!
Now that this new idea in 24 is about to start it makes sense now about all the handwringing over the morality of torture and looking at individuals as assets not innoncent citizens. It was sorta getting on my nerves but if the new bad guy is going to take the White House I'm curious as hell to see what the writers are going to come up with about the morality of torture and the New Hampshire motto...Live Free or Die.
OK with the new baddie about to take the White House I have even a bigger suspicion about Buchanan! The two hours next week are going to be fast and action packed and I fully expect a major character to get the farewell clock count. I think it will be Buchanan so does he go out as a good guy or bad guy.
And who didn't want to see Jack smack Agent Walker in the chops for the did you feel anything when your wife died in your arms?
