Day 18: What if Spike and Faith's S7 arcs were switched?
Then I might understand all the season 7 criticism.😀

I agree with the rest of you. It doesn't fit. I'm actually a big fan of Faith but the more you keep her around the more you have to complicate her story. She'd have to have a run-in with being evil or turning on Buffy, and all she needed in season 7 was to come back and be a failed but redeemed good guy.

Day 19: What are your thoughts on the Buffy Bot?

Does she (for example) gross you out as she does Buffy? What about her interactions with the other characters in S6? Are there any similarities/differences in Spike "using" her S5 and Buffy "using" Spike S6? I should say, this was inspired by @PaulParmar1 who, on another thread, said true to the statement "There should be more Buffy Bot in S6". Initially, I wished to "do violence" to him (sorry Paul! 😳) then I started thinking about the function of the Bot.
Unrelated questions a) Where's @GoSpuffy b) Can we drag @Priceless away from her Gimp (double entendre meant and relevant to the question)? Also unrelated - @flow - I'm using the Spike skin (double entendre NOT intended). It didn't take me long to adjust.

I love Buffybot she does not gross me out at all, I actually have a soft corner for robots I loved Warren's bot also the way Warren treated her is one of the reasons why I hate Warren the most out of all characters. I wanted to hate Spike also in s6 why would you want to make someone just to love you and then you get irritated by that love? but on the other hand Spike did ask Willow to change her programming and it was very sweet and sad that the bot just made him miss real Buffy more and it was painful for him to just look at her, the scene where Buffybot said "I think Spike stopped liking me" makes me all teary eyed not for Spike or Buffy but for Buffybot.

There are some similarities, Spike did treat the bot way better than Buffy treated him but I think the way they both felt for the other might have some similarities. Like for Spike the bot was more of a reminder that he can never have the real thing so she is the next best thing. For Buffy, Spike without a soul might have meant something similar even if she loved him because without the soul she could never have him or the real thing (ensouled Spike) so the soulless version of him was the next best thing
 
I'm here! Xmas keeping me busy so I'm reading more than posting. Plus I can leave the back steps and go into other forums right now because I don't want the spuffy/spike baiters to ruin my happy days.

I love the bot. I think she was comedic genius. It could have been played icky but instead it was kind of heart breakingly sweet to watch Spike beg her to "just be Buffy".

Also I think SMG is under rated as an actress. When she plays the bot she does an amazingly good job, you could almost think it is a robot. I also think she did a great job playing Faith in the body swap. So I guess I appreciate admiring her work in the role in this instance. Is that weird? SMG brought Buffy to life. She was an excellent buffy.

Buffy rescuing Spike from The First was beautiful, a fulfilment of Spike's total belief that she would come for him. I cannot imagine Buffy feeling the same impetus to rescue Faith, or for Faith to have such deep and meaningful feelings about the rescue 🙂
 
I was still stuck on Faith replacing Spike, but am happy to see everyone has moved on from that 😀

Day 19: What are your thoughts on the Buffy Bot?

I thought that the Bot was an integral part of Spike's evolution. It began with him stealing Buffy's clothing and making a little shrine to her, then he practised his 'humanity' on that half-mannequin with the terrible wig. Next step was getting Harmony to play Buffy, and the Bot was the next natural next step. He had evolved from someone who battered the mannequin because she couldn't give him the validation he needed, to caring for and being the partner of a faux Buffy. I think the Bot fulfilled Spike's needs on a baser level, but when he says 'no programming, just be Buffy' he realises the Bot won't be enough in the long run and he needs the real thing.

You could say the similarities between S5 and S6 are that neither was real. The Bot wasn't real to Spike and Spike wasn't real Buffy, they were machine and vampire, just 'things'. To become 'real' Spike had to get a soul.

Like others have said, I love the Bot too, I think she's an amazing character in her own right, and SMG plays her so well.
 
Day 19: What are your thoughts on the Buffy Bot?
She's certainly my favorite robot of the five that we see throughout the show. (Sorry April- if you were really Brittany Spears that may have helped) I think Intervention, or the scenes with Spike and the Bot at least, can be considered comic relief for the fans but were really important for Spike. He needed the realization that he wasn't just obsessed with Buffy, he was in love with her, and being with a copy of someone will do just that. Even though he had already claimed his feelings were real earlier, specifically in Crush, he had just been rejected multiple times, so he (and we) had to know if he was really still attracted to what was on the inside.

To further what others have said, SMG was really impressive with the Bot, somehow it was funny, sweet, and charming to watch a machine whose ancestors were toaster ovens get "ravaged" a bunch of times.

As far as the similarities between Spike treating the Bot and Buffy treating Spike, I think the surface level of being used for sex and companionship is similar but there's not much past that. Spike uses the Bot to make him feel good about himself, while Buffy is really using Spike and embracing not feeling good about herself. Furthermore, Spike wants the Bot to be his and personal, and Buffy, at least shows, that she wants Spike to be anything but hers and personal.

I think the BuffyBot is cute, which is probably mostly due to SMG`s great acting. She takes the opportunity to show us a very diufferent side of Buffy - a very happy, girlish, immature side. But still sweet. She does not gross me out at all, but I have thought, if she can shower after ...you know----patroling......with Spike, or if that is impossible because of the electricity.

The difference or similarity to Buffy/Spike in season 6 is, that the Buffybot is not a real Person but Spike treats her as one. I love, how he makes an effort to explain to her, so she would understand, why he can`t tell Glory about Dawn being the key. Spike on the other Hand is a real Person but Buffy doesn`t treat like one in season 6. He wants to see in the buffybot a humanity, that she does not have. Buffy denies him having the humanity, that is at least a part of him, even if he soulless at that time.

The things Andrew made Buffybot (body bot and real brain Buffy) to do in s9, shower is the easiest thing compared to those
 
Day 14: If Angelus had never gotten cursed with the soul and there was no Angel in Buffy's life, how would it change things for Spuffy? Scoobies relationship with chipped Spike and would Spike even went to get a soul if they would have no idea what he is missing and why it is so important?
Without Angelus there´s no alliance between Buffy and Spike, and maybe he would still continue with Dru, I'm not sure there would be Spuffy without s2

Day 15: How are Spike and Buffy going to spend one hour in heavy snowfall?
I like the snowball fight, but as usual a demon would appear, and they would have a good fight and after that like everybody said they spend the rest of the day in bed

Day 16. You're a character (any character) from S2-S11 and you've drawn either Buffy or Spike in the Buffyverse Secret Santa. What do you buy?
I´m Dawn on S5 and I would buy to Spike a poetry book, on Dracula we can see Spike reading a book and i´m sure he still continues with poetry, and on S5 Dawn spends a lot of time in Spike´s crypt so i´m assuming she has notices this

Day 17: Why did Spike and Joyce get on so well and do you think she'd be supportive of Spuffy in S6 or 7?
I think he saw a mother in her and at the same time, he tends to be nice with people that are nice to him. I don´t think Joyce would have accepted the relationship, and if she had known about the AR it would have taken time to forgiven, however she would have respected Buffy´s decision to help him on S7 and once that she would see that are in love and in a good place I think she would give them the support

I like Faith but I would not change her for Spike, I love the Spuffy on S7. I remember that the scene on Dirty Girls was to see if there was chemistry between them for a spin off, this may have been interesting

The fact that he wanted that the Bot knew everything about the Scoobies and Buffy´s life tells me that he wanted the real thing and not only sex but it was something he needed to find out, I think that soon or later he would have tired of the Bot cause it wasn´t really her.

Spike is nice with the Buffy Bot like she was a person, Buffy on the other side treats Spike like a thing on S6, Buffy uses Spike but not only for sex there´s also an emotional component, and we can see that Spike uses the Buffy Bot but not only for sex.

So much booze, no one worries what they're eating 😀 I think it'd be a buffet, lots of chips and dips and finger food, with sugary treats, mince pies, flowering onions and buffalo wings and plenty of blood and beer.
