5.01 "Conviction" - Airdate 10/1/03

harmony's so jokes! and gunn's lawyer-talk was wicked. way to memorize those lines!

I love Harmony's comic reliefs and also the teaser to this ep!

What's up with those "SWAT" guys? They park a huge van in front of an elementary school, 10 or so guys dressed in all black (armed with guns) get out of the van, go into the school all cautious like, and no one across the street seems to notice that? Why don't they go through the back? Seems a bit unrealistic.

Also, Angel had no problem killing a human so brutally and leaving his body there. Sure, the guy was evil and probably deserved it, but Angel's conscience let him do that with no signs of remorse?

Loved it/Hated it

This season premiere did not let down...mainly because I had read all of the spoilers and already knew Stephanie wouldn't be reprising her role as Lilah. That took the sting out of it...a little. But, not considering that little flaw, I thought the episode was done rather well...it gets a 7.5 on my scale.

Good points:

Wesley and Gunn getting along. Yay! I especially loved when Gunn asked if he should call him Wesle. (I've now started to call my friend Wesley by that name...he hates it!)

Finding out that Wesley was the one who chose Harmony as Angel's secretary. Lol, "I thought we could use a familiar face."

Angel kicking the W&H soldiers butts and talking about mercy.

Gunn's performance in the courtroom.

Harmony calling Spike "blondie bear"

Fred getting all stern with her lab workers. That was a whole new side to little Fred Burkle.

Bad points:

No Lilah. That automatically took away 2 points from my rating. *pout*

The fact that the evil guy hid the virus in his kids heart! Eww!

Eve. I think I'll like her well enough..but she tried way to hard to act like Lilah.

Not enough Wesley.

Angel's hair. Shockingly, I think I miss the spikies.

Lack of Spike. I guess I didn't read enough spoilers. I expected to see a great deal of him...not three seconds.

i didnt like the ep. too much too much daylight and it was like a different show! fred dresses like a slut now!

Oh my God, I loved it! Harmony was just perfect. I loved every one of her lines. She's just great ...

So many funny things happened ... the Dixie Chicks poster, the "I'm not small" comment, the phone. And I LOVED Fred's speech to the science department. She's totally kick-ass.

As I'm not too psyched that Spike's returning, I'll just deal with it. Hopefully he won't completely steal the show. (*crosses fingers*)

I read that the producers want S5 to be more light and... bright. Thus, the necro-tempered glass. Fred does not dress like a slut! I prefer this Fred more than the shy Fred in early S3.

i like shy fred and angels supposed to be dark not out and about in the daylight

i just saw the premeire!! It was really good, it funny too. I liked at the very beinning after angel saved that girls and all the w&h poeople jumped out and the girl was like " you did this for publicity" and he's like "no, i help the helpless?" that was funny. they whole episode was good, especcialy spike coming at the end!!! i can't wait until next week!!

when they were all resesrching why was fred sitting like that when she was in a skirt? hmmmmmmmmm?

What do u guys think?

i did not like eve fred is trashy now gunn looks bad with hair and DB is ugly now

Ok, I thought this episode was pretty good, but I did miss a few parts, thanks to someone changing the channel on me. I am a little confused though, since I missed the last few episodes of season four. Are Fred and Gunn still together? What happened to Cordelia? And, what happened to put Spike into the necklace? I guess I must have missed that part last season. Oh, and what happened, how did Angel get the law firm? I really missed a lot. Damn that job of mine! ::fire:: I am looking forward to the next episode and the rest of the season.

*Lost Angel* - I merged your thread with this thread.

There will be Official Discussions made for each episode posted by Buffy Summers in the Season 5 Discussion Forum, just like this one. Look out for them.🙂

This season is going to rock!
Why?
1) The audience gets a chance to adjust to the new environment together with the team. They haven't quite figured it out yet and are still struggling.
2) Angel is finally moving like a vampire again in the fighting scenes. He appeared way too weak and lame in the last season.
3) Fred's character developing into a stronger, more secure person - slowly but surely
4) Gunn stops whining and kicks ass legal-eagle style
5) Great lines, funny moments
6) Harmony is ab fab and brings in the comic relief
7) Spike's appearance
8) Eve - and we don't quite know just how evil or good she is. The risk factor in the group that keeps them on their toes. I like it.
9) Angel showing the Ops Team who the boss is.

My fav line apart form Harm's "Blondie Bear" is:
Ops guy: What happened to mercy?
Angel: He just saw the last of it.

No. For a moment towards the end of S4, they were...but by the time they arrived at W&H, they werent.

What happened to Cordelia?
She went into a coma after she had Jasmine, her child. My guess is that the power Jasmine contained was so immense, that her mind/body couldn't handle it.

And, what happened to put Spike into the necklace?
That was from the series finale of Buffy. Lilah gave Angel the necklace at the S4 finale of Angel. He then gave it to Buffy because it, apparantly, would help save the world. Buffy, in turn, gave it to Spike, who was a strong champion. After fighting a while in the Hellmouth, the necklace went crazy. Spike truly felt his soul. Sunlight emerged, destroying the hellmouth, along with burning Spike into a pile of ashes. Apparantly, from what I've heard, we will find out exactly how Spike got in there, and why he has returned.

Oh, and what happened, how did Angel get the law firm?
When the gang managed to bring utter chaos to L.A., W&H gave in. Their ultimate goal had been, to get rid of peace...which is what Angel Investigations ended up doing. So Lilah came as a messenger, letting them know, that they give up. So they gave them control of the L.A. branch.

Is anyone else wondering who sent the envelope?

I'm wondering if they'll at least check the post mark. There is no return address.

I totally missed it. Boo me. I can't wait till Wednesday though, and Gunn has hair????

Bet you it was Giles or Principal wood. wait hold on. Didn't the amulet go down with the hellmouth? who the hell would go down there and grab it???

Anyone notice then J Augest has lost weight?

I am also very curious as to who sent the envelope. I couldnt imagine Giles caring about it. Principal Wood wouldnt give a hoot about Spike... my guess is that it would be Buffy...returning the item back to Angel.
