Okay. Newbie here, so bear with me. Be gentle.
As much as I would love and ANGEL movie - to show us what happens after they "go to work" in E22 "Not Fade Away" - I would rather it be done properly and I agree with DB when he says that he would only go back to ANGEL if it was "something bigger and better."
Would we really want ANGEL relegated to those crappy made-for-TV movies that we see for other shows when the series ends? ANGEL was like a mini-movie every week, so why go back and do the same thing again? I love the way ANGEL ended - so much better than BUFFY: G22 "Chosen" - and I would hate to see that ruined by cheaply-made TV movies. If you're going to do it, do it right.
Surely if there was enough call for a FIREFLY movie, then an ANGEL/BUFFY movie should garner a lot more interest as the fan base of the Buffyverse must surely be a lot bigger than that of FIREFLY?
Imagine a big screen ANGEL/BUFFY movie. Same actors, all loose ends tied up, Shanshu, army of Slayers led by Buffy and Faith. It would be fantastic.
SmG will no doubt balk at the idea but - maybe a few years down the line when SCOOBY-DOO 4 gets slated - she will re-think her Slayer duties.
Plus... we know that Angel himself survives the events in the Hyperion alley because there is a new graphic novel mini-series coming from Dark Horse called: ANGEL: CURSED, which picks up ATFER the evnts of "Not Fade Away". It's good to know that he does survive, but it would be nice to know HOW... and what happens to the rest of Team Angel. It's a dead cert Illyria survives, but what about Spike and Gunn?
Apparently, Dark Horse will be released more ANGEL graphic novels, some of which we fill in the blanks of what happened to the rest of the gang.
