I'm watching "A New Moon Rising" and I was wondering did Oz have every right to be mad at Willow for not telling him about her relationship with Tara? Or did Oz loose every right to pass judgement on Willow and her relationships after the thing he had with Veruka

No. Oz had no right to be mad because she didn't tell him about Tara. It was completely unfair to think that he could leave her abruptly like that and then just come back and pick up where left off because he felt like it. I mean, he didn't even tell her if he was coming back so it was crazy for him to think that she'd wait for him.

I don't think it was Veruca that made his anger with Willow here wrong. I think it was him leaving... although the thing with Veruca doesn't help.

He had every right to be upset. Oz comes back, they talk all night, he's obviously looking for more. That's something you bring up, so niether of you get hurt.

I don't think Oz had the right to expect Willow to tell him everything. He left, and her life went on. They weren't around each other, and she never thought he'd come back. And then he shows up and expects what? She welcomes him back with open arms? Why would she do that? Just because he still loves her the same amount doesn't mean she does. She moved on, like anyone would expect her to.

It's not the thing with Veruca that gives him no right to be upset with her. It's the fact that he up and left and wasn't really planning on telling her. She walked in on him leaving. Would he have even told her if she hadn't walked in on him packing? He didn't really show her a lot of respect, so why should she show him the respect of telling him about Tara? She wasn't his girl anymore. She didn't have to tell him.

Then she had no right to play friendly with him.

Then she had no right to play friendly with him.
She had no right to listen to the tales someone she had deep feelings for is telling? He asked to talk to her, she agreed. She didn't say she'd tell him her story, he asked to tell her his.

Just because they broke up doesn't mean she hates him. I don't think she was "playing friendly" with him. She was genuinely interested in his story.

Besides, he didn't even ASK about anyone else. He asked Xander, not Willow.

That's because it's an awkward thing to ask your ex. He obviously wanted more.

I don't know about that. I have exes I'm friends with and I talk to them about their lives a lot. Doesn't mean either of us want more, we just want to maintain the friendship.

Besides, how do you tell the former love of your life, "BTW, you left me TOTALLY devastated and in a state of shock so I cast an spell unknowingly on all my friends, and oh, I'm also gay now, so GTFO"?

I agree. They talked all night so really she should have mentioned it. Obviously she was confused by the whole Tara situation but I think Oz was accidentally led on a bit.

Exactly. I have nothing against Willow in this situation. But if I have to choose a side here, I'm with Oz.

You just contradicted yourself.

Where and how did I "contradict" myself?
I think Oz absolutely deserved to know that Willow was dating someone new, but Willow didn't need to blurt it out as soon as he arrived. As others said, he had gone-and she thought it was for good. She wasn't prepared to tell him anything, or to even consider having him in her life again. So it's perfectly understandable that she would need some time to tell him; heck, I think she was so busy just processing the fact that he was back, and everything he was telling her about learning to control the wolf, that she gets a pass here.

Also, it must have been very confusing for her considering she'd just started dating Tara, but had loved Oz for years. And I'm sure she wasn't in a hurry to alienate him--something she knew would happen once she told him she'd moved on. And he, of course, shouldn't have expected her to have waited for him.

Who said he did? I don't recall that being stated.

Oz: "It was stupid to think you'd just be... waiting."
Willow: "I was waiting..."

Oz said himself he thought she'd be waiting for him. That's where that came from.
I'm sure that's not how he meant it. It just doesn't seem like him. I think he meant that he hoped she would. Just like anyone would hope. Until hope crushes you.

Well, of course he didn't mean exactly what he said. That would just be ludicrous.

Yes, he deserved to know. When he said Xander didn't see her with any new guys, that should've tipped Willow off that A. Oz is looking to rekindle this and B. I should probably say there is someone new.

That is a good time to tell a person. He was looking for confirmation and Willow kind of just left out Tara for no real reason.

Willow was struggling with the whole "gay now" thing. She hadn't told Buffy or Xander yet, so it's not as if she was being unreasonable to Oz specifically for some reason. She just wasn't ready to decide what to do. Yes, she could have been deliberately vague to Oz in order to avoid revealing the changes in her sexual preferences but then he would wonder why she was seeing someone and her friends don't know that. No harm was done as long as she hadn't actually resumed her relationship with Oz and she was entitled of some time to think.

Plenty of harm was done. And all because Willow didn't trust or respect Oz enough to explain her situation. Tara and Oz were both put in danger because Willow couldn't come clean to him or herself.

And Oz wouldn't have been angry enough to wolf out if Willow had told them the truth because...? Not to mention Willow couldn't possibly know he had that particular problem. I can't blame Willow for a situation that even Oz didn't see coming, let alone Willow.
