Question A question to the OG's, about 'Becoming'

I've heard somewhere that when 'Becoming, part 1' was originally aired, it had narration by Angel, instead of narration by Whistler. You know, the "that's when you find out who you are" stuff? Apparently it was originally narrated by David Boreanaz (Like when he narrated 'Passion').

So, can anyone confirm this? And (if I may be greedy...) is there ANY way of finding this original version? This rumor made me really curious.🙂

Maybe they meant when they originally discussed the concept for the episode, as Max was the VO when it aired and Whistler was in the script. They originally wanted Max to have a bigger part but at the time he was too popular to appear on the series ongoing. I think wherever you heard this from maybe was confused.

Yeah, didn't they originally want Whistler for AtS, but the actor was signed on for something else, so they created Doyle instead?

I think I remember The Buffy Rewatch podcast mentioning this in their review for Becoming also. Not sure why they would switch from Angel to Whistler. Unless they had plans to use him on Angel, maybe. But I prefer Doyle anyway. Lol
