b/a always & forever
Buffy was that girl who would rather skip school than slay in S1. Now she's matured... but how much? She's been portrayed as self-centered, self-righteous, and superior, and with good reason.
- In "Enemies," even though she told Angel to go all out to get info from Faith, she said she needs some space afterwards. Doesn't she know how much she is hurting him. Watch her reaction to his leaving in "The Prom."
- In "Sanctuary," she goes to L.A. and purposely throws comments to hurt Angel. She feels it is somehow her right. Angel comes to Sunnydale to apologize for the things he said, but shouldn't she be apologizing more than he does? She barely said she was sorry for the things she said, only mostly sorry for barging in on his turf.
- She feels like only she can really keep Dawn from getting hurt in S5.
- She continues to push people away and throws herself into an unhealthy relationship in S6.
- She decides to show Dawn the world in "Grave," but shuns Dawn away in S7.
- She uses Spike horribly in S6, neglects Riley, and acts childish at times to Angel's age old wisdom. They all left ('cept for Spike, who's so in love with her, he can barely see straight.). The common denominator in all these relationships is her.
- She shies away from everybody in S7 and gets bossy.
I know she usually has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but how can I see her as an adult in S7 if she acts so superior? At least she admits this in "CWDP," yet she continues to be superior. I just wanted to post my thoughts here.
