Buffy was that girl who would rather skip school than slay in S1. Now she's matured... but how much? She's been portrayed as self-centered, self-righteous, and superior, and with good reason.

- In "Enemies," even though she told Angel to go all out to get info from Faith, she said she needs some space afterwards. Doesn't she know how much she is hurting him. Watch her reaction to his leaving in "The Prom."

- In "Sanctuary," she goes to L.A. and purposely throws comments to hurt Angel. She feels it is somehow her right. Angel comes to Sunnydale to apologize for the things he said, but shouldn't she be apologizing more than he does? She barely said she was sorry for the things she said, only mostly sorry for barging in on his turf.

- She feels like only she can really keep Dawn from getting hurt in S5.

- She continues to push people away and throws herself into an unhealthy relationship in S6.

- She decides to show Dawn the world in "Grave," but shuns Dawn away in S7.

- She uses Spike horribly in S6, neglects Riley, and acts childish at times to Angel's age old wisdom. They all left ('cept for Spike, who's so in love with her, he can barely see straight.). The common denominator in all these relationships is her.

- She shies away from everybody in S7 and gets bossy.

I know she usually has the weight of the world on her shoulders, but how can I see her as an adult in S7 if she acts so superior? At least she admits this in "CWDP," yet she continues to be superior. I just wanted to post my thoughts here.

In Emenies, Buffy thought she could handle their plan with Faith but after going through it she saw that she needed some time to think things over, Angel understood.

In Season6, she wasnt even herself and she felt dead inside. She was disgusted with what she was doing with Spike, they used each other not just her useing him. She also decided to try to get back on track and ended things with Spike.

In Season7, Buffy was bitchy during some of the episodes but I think the problem she had in that season was that she was being more of the Slayer then she usually was instead of doing things how she usually did them.

It isnt her fault Angel left, he left to give her a normal life and because of the whole happyness claus on his soul.

Riley already knew before he left that Buffy didnt love him like she loved Angel and he constantly tried to get Buffy to open up to him so he was more like in denial land and Buffy did try to stop Riley from leaving but she was to late.

In Sanctuary, Buffy was pissed off at Faith and pissed off at Angel for defending Faith so she wanted to hurt Angels feelings to a extent.

Buffy was mature alot in S1-7 espically in her relation ship with Angel towards the end, in Graduation she risked her life for him, she saw him leaving and she didnt run after him trying to convince him to stay because she probably knew he was only trying to do what was best for her.

I understand what are some catalysts to her behavior, but shouldn't she learn to control her emotions a little bit more by now?

Angel did understand why she asked for space in "Enemies," but what makes it worse is that she asked him to do that with Faith and it seems like she blamed it on him for that. I wouldn't post all this, but her actions were so repetitive throughout the series.

I think it all comes down to her being the slayer. The First Slayer tells her that she isn't allowed to have friends, but maybe the First is trying to tell her that as a slayer there's a limit to how close she can let people in. She was destined to be a killing machine of evil, and as a result her subconsious keeps her from getting too close to her friends.

Also, I think if you have a certain amount of power, no matter what type of person you are you are going to view yourself as better than most people.
