This looks so much better than that Tim Burton slop that preceded it.

I wish they'd stop tarnishing my name with these films.

That music was much better in the film Sucker Punch.
Not impressed either, I didn't mind the first one, but given how much they mixed up that story I don't hold out much hope for this one.

This looks an awful jumbled CGI mess. Rather a lot like the first one actually, so kudos to them for being consistently rubbish.

The only saving grace is the dulcet tones of the late, great Alan Rickman. I'd recognise his voice anywhere. I really hope this drivel isn't his last performance, or I'll be really sad....

ETA: Oh god, it is. I really honestly feel like crying. 🙁

No, his last performance was a TV commercial.
Am I seriously the only one that is super stoked for this! It looks awesome!

I thought it did too... but then I watched it without sound and noticed how a lot of it looked like the Burton mess. At first it really looked like something new and different. The music suckered me into overlooking the banality of the trailer.

To be fair I actually liked the first Alice movie. The cast is great, even if it's a Burton mess, I'm sure I'm still going to enjoy it. I like silly fantasy movies, even when Burton writes them.

Well and to be fair Burton isn't directing this time, and producing nowadays could mean anything😉 If I'm not mistaken isn't the director the guy who did the first Muppets film since the reboot? I loved that, but this is a different matter.

It does look a hot mess, and as well as tanishing @GwenRaiden's real name😉 Its in danger of tanishing the names of some of the best actors working today, and Johnny Depp😀 I will keep an open mind though😉

It looks the same as the first Tim Burton one to me. It annoys me that they used Jefferson Airplane in the trailer. Please stop associating cool songs with terrible movies. 🙁

Yeah and also the use of that song has become a cliche in both television and films. Its most effective use was in Where the Truth Lies I think🙂

Tim Burton used to make amazing films. Beetlejuice! Edward Scissorhands! Batman! Batman Returns! Mars Attacks (divisive, but I enjoyed it) It all seemed to go downhill from Planet of the Apes onwards 🙁

Agreed
Mars Attacks and Big fish were the only Burton movies that were worth a damn. Beetlejuice and Scissorhands were all style over substance.

Yeah, but when the style is that good, it becomes the substance. I agree more on Beetlejuice than Scissorhands by the way. I can't help but get swept up in the emotion of that film, its just beautiful.

You know that the movie going to be bad when the music is the best part of it 😛

Ed Wood is one I forget Tim Burton even made because it doesn't feel like his ridiculous style. I love Ed Wood. Seemingly he can only make very good films, or some of the worst films I've ever seen. And he's got more tallies in the 'worst films I've ever seen' category now.

You are cowrecked. I forgot that was a Burton film. Of course, I dont much think about it either, to be honest.
Even that dreary Big Eyes movie felt like a Burton film. It's just so tired now.. his filming style.

He seems to be striking out a lot lately. Maybe he should be sent to the minors 😛
