What was that? Life on earth exists, so we know for a fact that life on other planets is possible.
Okay, I'll try again. We know that under the right conditions, life
can exist on other planets. That's a fact.
We know aliens exist because UFO's have been seen, that sort of comment should have been made several thousand years ago.
I don't know what that is supposed to mean.
Have UFOs been seen? Sure. UFO means nothing more than
unidentified flying object. Were those UFOs of alien origin? I doubt it. There's no proof. Period. Faked photos and amateur videos don't count. And we don't know that aliens exist just because UFOs have been seen. A UFO sighting isn't necessarily proof for aliens. Who says UFOs and aliens are linked?
I also think we have to make a clear distinction between alien lifeforms (any kind of life found on planets other than earth) and the pop culture aliens and flying saucers.
Nobody has any proof that the existence of a god is possible, what do you base that on?
I base this on the lack of evidence, obviously.
It is quite possible that someone somewhere does have proof that God [...]
Yes, no question about it. But as long as that person doesn't show the evidence to the world, it'll be quite useless.
Now, I feel that I've got to make one thing clear. I'm an atheist (agnostic atheist, that is) but that doesn't mean that I won't accept that there's a god, in case someone puts up the necessary evidence. I'm not against god, I simply don't believe in god.
I think I was focused more on the visitation of intelligent life being a good comparison to the intervention of "God" or "gods"--since all that exists are testimonials and witness' accounts.
Yes, that I have to agree with. There's no solid evidence for either of them. Only people who claim to have witnessed something. They could be right, but there's no proof. In that particular aspect, they're really quite the same.
