Alternate To Season 7

Everytime I watch Season 7 I wish more and more that Amber came back... It just doesn't seem real with Kennedy... Seeing as how it was a last minute decision to put them together... Kinda cheapened Willow... Especially since it barely developed... I think that since Amber declined (damnit), they should have just let Willow be...

How the hell does going back to your true love and soulmate make you a 'skanky harlot'? :wtf:
  • One true loves and soul mates don't exist
  • Only a skanky harlot would dump someone for anyone else

Let's try to keep the generalizations down to a minimum 🙂

Just because someone would leave someone for another, doesn't make them a skanky harlot.

Especially in Willow's case. Should Tara have come back, I'm sure it would have been difficult for her to leave Kennedy, but I think ultimately she would have because Tara was taken from her at a point where they were very much still in love.

That's your standard, not mine. Leaving anyone for another person is an act of cruelty only a skanky harlot could do.

Here's a radical thought. I would have liked the character of Kennedy better if she had turned out to be a villain. I don't know why that is, but it is.

Like what if Kennedy had turned out to be one those demons Ashanti turned into.

Of course, if Tara had come back, the issue of Kennedy would have been a moot point. While the character might have been around, the relationship with Willow would not have been. That was created by Joss Whedon because Amber Benson declined to come back in the seventh season.
I know, but I think the poster meant if Tara would come back when Willow was with Kennedy.

Spike My Darlin - I agree that there isn't really such a thing as soulmates. But, I can refer to Tara and Willow as soulmates in a way. I believe that they were as perfect for eachother as two people can be. (I don't believe they were destined to be together, like before they were born or whatever..)

If Kennedy had been a villain Willow's end would just have been too depressing. To me it's better that she got to end up in a relationship with a person a consider to be quite uninteresting.. Than her in a relationship with someone who turns out to be a villain.. And Willow is all alone and heartbroken again.

Ok now this is definitely stepping over a line here. I left my ex for my now-husband instead of just cheating on my ex with my now-husband. Therefore, you have just called me a skanky harlot. We don't allow name-calling on this board so I would ask you to find a better way to get your argument across. Thanks.

Moving on, how about all of the people Buffy has saved since the Scoobies brought her back. Because frankly, Faith hadn't done such a great job as Slayer. And on that subject, is Faith to blame for all the hundreds, even thousands of people she 'may' have saved had she not turned her back on her calling?

Speaking of soulmates... I don't think the question is whether or not we believe in soulmates when talking about the show. Shouldn't the question be, "Does the Buffyverse believe in soulmates?"

I think, yes, and I think Tara is portrayed as Willow's soulmate.

Read my thoughts exactly.

So basically you should stay with someone even if you've met someone who you could be happier with?
Stay together, break up, go on a murderous rampage accross the country, its your life, do what you want. Just know I am going to call you skanky harlot to your face and behind your back.

I passed that line when I was ten.

I am direct, I don't hold anything, and I don't change for anyone ever.

I am not even going to bother with your second paragraph because you fail to grasp the concept.

Thanks a bunch.
Spike My Darlin, now you're being rude and not following boards rules.. I can't believe you just said that to Jenny..

Or even, "Does Willow believe in soulmates?", since it would be her making the choice.

About Faith. Um, no. I definitely don't think you can be blamed for not saving people. I mean.. If she were saving-people-slayer, if everything was the way it were "supposed" to be, Buffy shouldn't even be a slayer.. So then Buffy wouldn't save people at all.. Uh, this is getting confusing but.. I'm just saying, it's supposed to be one way, but it almost never works like that so...
And yeah, if you think like that.. If Buffy hadn't been brought back, she sort of would be responsible for the death of the people she wouldn't have saved.. Wish I don't agree about at all, lol.

You're right... That was confusing 😀

But I think you were heading in the same direction my thoughts were. Faith and Buffy are Vampire Slayers (With a side of Demon/God/Geek)... To me, that is first and for-most their duty... Not that they SHOULDN'T save lives... But I don't think they should be held responsible for those lives that happened to be lost while doing their duty.

Unless they kill a person themselves.

I agree with that... Even though the "Slayer cannot kill human" thing annoyed me a few times (Ethan Rayne, The Trio), I do agree with the concept. It gives being the Chosen One more meaning.. Because she is still human... Not God.

They are of course responsible if they kill a human (and I don't think the rules should be any different if the human is Warren, Katrina or Faith), but what I was trying to say (more or less) with my confusing post above, is that they cannot be responsible for the people they didn't save. Like, if you thought like that, and if Willow (and the others) wouldn't have brought Buffy back, they would be responsible for the people dying, who Buffy would have saved if they had brought her back.

You are welcome to your opinion. You can even express it if you choose, but I think moderation in your choice of expressions would lead to more interesting debate. There is certainly no need to insult anyone here. Decorum is a hallmark of this board, and I suggest you familiarize yourself with it so we can have useful discussions, not insult-fests more suited to an elementary schoolyard.

These two statements seem to be contradicting each other. The first indicates you are over ten. The indicates that you may not be. Whichever one is fact, you must know that at any age, at least a cursory bow to manners is essential to be taken seriously. Be as direct and forceful as you want, just bear in mind that, like the people in our discussion, you will be held responsible for your actions, and dealt with accordingly should they be in contradiction of the rules of the board.

If you believe that, maybe a reiteration of your original thesis is called for, and an explanation of how the comments don't fit. Your original position probably got lost in all the pointless wildass generalizations.

Now, please continue with the topic at hand. I don't want to hijack the thread.

All in All

Interesting how so many people seem to think that Tara would have won in the end. For me she was such a simple character but having her in the series always made things interesting, people considered her to be a soft, meek and timid type of character, but the more i watch the series (thank goodness for DVD's) the more i see Tara as a very strong character sometimes the strongest in the group, always level headed and with direction.

I, personally, dont think that Tara would have sat back and waited for Willow to get bored with Kennedy and I dont think Kennedy would be giving Tara enough space to Willow.

Also this triangle is not about leaving someone to be with someone else but more, how Willow would have dealt with two people she really cared about. I mean if I was Kennedy and Willows "love of her life came back". I dont know if I would stand in her way. I might give her her space and hope she comes back to me, maybe try make her jealous in the process <grin> (only human here). Hey I would not give up totally.

Well apparently buffy animated is coming out in 2006, with willow and tara. I wonder why they have gone back to that stage to? Besides the fact that buffy ratings were at their highest with Tara in the seasons.

On the topic of should a slayer have rights to human life, I think most definitely not.

On the topic of should they be blamed if lots die while on duty, no they should not, but if they blatantly ignore that duty, then hell yeah!!

Faith went through a lot agreed, but she had a calling and ran with her tail between her legs. I expected a slayer to be stronger. Especially her with all that attitude!
