Aly as Lily on HIMYM

I LOVE Allison as Lily on HIMYM 😀 Comedy is really one of her strengths as an actor. But, for me, that doesn't mean I love her less as Willow because the characters are completely different. I love her in both roles 🙂 If anyone disagrees, I'll give you the "You're dead to me look." (JK) 🙂

I love her on both roles. they are two completely different types of people she is portraying. However, I do agree that Lily is better suited for her. My favorite episode is the Erickson Thanksgiving lmao her facial expression at the turkey was just priceless!!!

Also I think if anyone else had gotten the role of Willow, I probably would not have watched Buffy at all lol
 
I'm a regular on the HIMYM IMDb board and apparently, a lot of people don't like Lily. I don't get it. People say she's too manipulative and whiny. Does anyone else get that vibe? I feel like maybe I don't because I love Aly too much... but I don't know?

*ERIKSEN! I started watching HIMYM BECAUSE of ERIKSEN spelled my way. People are ALWAYS spelling my last name "Erickson" and I'm constantly telling them "It's e-r-i-K-s-E-N." Sorry, I'm just easily irritated by that particular spelling mistake.
 
I've seen only about 17-18 HIMYM episodes so my opinion might not be right. Lily is my least favorite character out of those five. It's like she's not as interesting as the others. ^_^

Funny you should say that. I always think Ted is the least interesting character out of the five. Which doesn't say much as I think they're all amazing.

Maybe you're right. I think again and I see how Ted doesn't do anything much except being cute. But it's like Lily has to be with Marshall all the time. Maybe it's because I'm on season 1 so I haven't seen her being on her own yet. I've seen the S1 finale and she left him. I can't wait to see how she's like in S2. 🙂
 
Willow is more drama heavy, I mean from the start to the finish she had a lot of issues to deal with and we got to see a range of Aly's stuff more on the drama side.

As Lilly there was less drama and more flair, which let us see a different side to her and let her play with her comedic side.

So while i'm not choosing one over the other i'm going to say I like her has Lilly best, as she is a natural at the comedy stuff.

Totally agree with this. Lily and Marshall - hilarious. Lily on her own - not so funny. But I think it has to do with the character more than with Alison, 'cause she plays the part really well, like everything else she does. For me it comes down to which character I like as a person more, so I'm going with Willow. Also, as much as I like Marshall (and Oz for that matter) I much rather see Alison play parts where she's with girls. 🙂

The k and ck thing I can understand even if it's annoying, but changing the e to an o in the end? Because of Sony Erickson? My name is Erikson and the usual spelling here is Eriksson. Since that's not a big difference I don't get upset when people spell it wrong. Even if I fake it sometime. 😉

And if people don't know Eriksson stands for "son of Erik". 😉

I don't know why it is... I just know most people spell it "Erickson" but my name is "Eriksen." I know it's Norwegian too if that helps at all... I wish I could have talked to my grandfather about it... but he died when my dad was 7.

To me Eriksen is the Eriksson version in both Norway and Denmark but in none of those countries (according to google translate) sen means son so go figure.

Oh I definitely agree, I think it has to do with the character more than Alyson, she does play it well it just isn't funny to me. 🙂
So I definitely prefer Willow.
 
Watching HIMYM the other day, the ep where Ted and Barney take over the bar and Marshall and Lily have their airport ritual chauffeur sign/six pack. It struck me that the lady whom Lily talks to on the plane is actually wig-lady from Doublemeat Palace

Love to see a Buffy/HIMYM crossover, (Barney around the Scoobygirls would be awe-wait for it-some!) anyone know if there's any fanfic in that genre

I think if you look at Buffy and Parker you might get a good idea of what Baffy would be like😀
 
Aly is a great actress. I love both characters, but Willow will always be my favorite. But they are so different and in different shows and universes...
