Am I The Only one who gets emotional at the end of "Becoming Part 2"?

When Buffy leaves and that music is playing (I think it's called Full of Grace?) - it got me the first time and now the second time 😱. I just feel so sorry for her at this point because she must have felt so lonely, I know she was surrounded by friends all the time, but she was a 16/17 year old girl and I felt she was treated like a robot at times. So at the end when she was watching her friends head back in school and the music was playing....gets me everytime lol. Anyone else?

Belive me, you're not the only one. That's the episode I rewatched the most, more than any other episode.. and it gets me every time. It's really emotional, awesome acting, and the song sets the mood itself.
 
LOL glad I'm not the only one hahaha. I think it's the first time I genuinely saw how hard it was for Buffy - she was always the "hero" of the show in the earlier episodes but by this episode she became the victim too, which made it really emotional for me lol

It was also the episode Buffy realized there's more to her. She got something another slayers never had.. family, friends, love, and she started to depend on them. When she lost one of those components she realized that she's not alone. Sometimes all you need is yourself.

And being hardcore Bangel fan, those scenes were really heartbreaking, and Buffy being my favourite character it was hard to see her falling apart.
 
Oh, heck, no. I tear up every time, and I've seen the whole series through at least 7 times, if not more. I blame Sarah McLachlan. Just like with the ASPCA commercials.
 
I tear up every time I watch this ep. Heck even hearing the song can get to me. Wonderfully acted and filmed episode.
 
This episode changed my life. You are far from alone by being moved by it!
 
Man, you're far from being the only one! The ending of Becoming Part 2 is for me the most emotional scene in the whole Buffyverse. I've teared up to it back in 98 and everytime I saw it afterward it hit me hard. I gotta admit Sarah Mclachlan' song help a lot with that, but music is part of a tv show/movie. 😉

What gets me the most is when the portal close and you know Buffy just realized what she's lost.

If someone ask me in the future what is the scene I remember the most from BtVS, it'll be that one.

OMG, I totally get teary eyed (for the second time in the episode, at least... probably the third if you're talkin' Xander talking to coma Willow). She lost EVERYTHING by the end of the episode... I feel so bad for her every time.
 
I totally lose it every time I watch it. It is so emotional and heartbreaking: Willow was in a wheelchair, still pretty battered up, Giles had just been tortured, sporting a nasty cut and a broken finger while still dealing with losing Jenny, Xander broke his hand and Cordelia felt ashamed for running away. Not to mention poor Buffy. She was wanted by the police, she couldn't go home, she had to send Angel (virtually an innocent soul) to hell to suffer for the sins of Angelus, and she is so broken she felt the need to run away.

Oh yea, I'm gonna lose it right now thinking about it! Becoming 1 and 2 might be 2 of the best episodes in the series. It takes you from one place, and in 2 episodes completely twists what is going on and really does strip Buffy of everything she had to force her to fight Angelus alone. It was awesome to watch.
 
Omg I always cry when I watch that episode.. It's like "SHE FREAKIN' KILLED ANGEL!".. and I feel so sorry for her when she leaves her friends and her mom. I get very emotional..
 
Oh, of course you're not alone. The only people that don't get teary-eyed are those with no souls.
 
It ALWAYS gets me. I have seen it 100X so it doesn't affect me quite the same way as it did when I first watched, but it still deff. gets me emotional.
 
Amazing scene. What really makes me emotional is when Buffy looks back at the school with the music in the background its really moving.

I agree with Zalos that its one of the most emotional moments in the show's history.
 
Oh did I EVER have an emotional reaction to this episode. Those last four minutes of drama forever ruined me.... RUINED!! 🙁

In all seriousness, I never used to get emotional about TV shows (or movies for that matter). I was the person giving the "cry-ers" funny looks and couldn't understand why anyone would get emotional over a fictional story. It was silly! But then one night I came home from work, popped in my taped version of "Becoming, Part 2" (back when you had to use a VCR to record tv! lol) to watch it for the first time.

I made it through most of the episode, but as soon as Buffy broke down after killing Angel I couldn't hold it back the flood! I felt like a baby, weeping for the rest of the episode. Like was said, here was this 17 year old girl who had given up her home, her mother, her lover and now she's leaving behind the only family she has left in the scoobies. And with the background music on top of it and Joyce discovering the note... it was the first time I really thought "Wow, this Joss guy is a cruel, masterful genius!". He has such a way of pulling you into the emotions of the characters, especially when he's ruining their lives... and he held nothing back in this episode!

Ever since I've been a huge sap when watching any sad tv shows/movies. Now I'm the one that everybody's laughing at, hugging the tissue box! And it's all Whedon's fault :silly:

This is one of the most emotional scenes in the entire series up until "The Body" and it never fails to give the strings of even my dried up Spuffy heart a big strong tug. It is, I believe, the single most powerful, well acted scene that Sarah and David ever shared, and summed up the Bangle relationship, of duty always interfering with and having to come at the cost of love, perfectly. Season 2 set the ground rules for Buffy's relationship with Angel, and it established the penalty for breaking those rules. The moment when Buffy put that sword into the chest of the man who she believed would be the only one who she would ever be able to love was, in my opinion, the moment that she actually began to grow up. She finally realized that, tragic as it may be, the mission is, truly, the thing that comes first. Lose track of that simple rule, and good people die unnecessarily.

You're not the only one. I re-watched it recently and I cried (first time it made me cry, since I haven't seen it since I was about 13), it's from when Buffy tells him to close his eyes and they kiss and then she makes the ultimate sacrifice.
The first time I saw it I was 9, I think it was one of the first ones I watched after Bargaining Part 1, so I wasn't too emotionally moved by it, but re-watching the whole series and seeing Bangel's love grow and evolve, it just breaks your heart.
