American Horror Story Season 5

Oh dear, this sounds like a terrible idea. Murphy struggles keeping track of one series, I seriously can't see anything good coming from this at all :/
He's already got Scream Queens (which hasn't even started its first season yet), how many horror shows does one man need to be working on at once?

So he'll have two AHSs, Scream Queens and American Crime Story all at the same time?

The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this.
Well, he said that about Hotel which has yet to be confirmed.

I have no desire at all to see The People vs OJ.. seriously. I think that is the strangest idea.

Yeah the premise does nothing for me either tbh.
See, these things do not instill me with hope:

Co-creator Ryan Murphy announced at TCA that this year’s installment features “the most disturbing scene we’ve ever done” and it involves AHS newbie and New Girl star Max Greenfield, Sarah Paulson’s Sally and a little fella named The Addiction Demon. Hotel’s new monster looks as if his eyes and mouth were covered in melted wax and he wears a conical metal dildo. “He is a representation of that and what people go through fighting addiction,” explains Murphy.

They do not need to do two AHS's, one in Fall and one in Spring. I think that for the actors, they probably like having only to do 12 or 13 episodes and then frees them up do to other things. They'd have to either renegotiate their contracts or we will get a new cast with maybe a few returning. Also I don't need two, if they can't even get the one right. Let's just focus on doing one GOOD season at a time.

And I don't like the sounds of The Addiction Demon. A metal dildo? Really? I'm starting to lose my faith in s5, I really hope I'm wrong and it's a good season.

Yeah I figured addiction would be a theme with some of the character descriptions, but not sure what metallic dildo demons have to do with anything 🙄

I would assume sex addiction based on the fact that Lady Gaga's character sounds like a succubus.

I just want the dildo to be where it SHOULD be.. where I pictured it being when I read it. Being worn on his forehead like some g'd unicorn! I would reference a movie for a proper visual representation but.. I will say Trey Parker's sidekick in one of his movies.

This all sounds like too much. I'd prefer one good season to three star-studded, jam-packed mediocre ones. I just feel like there needs to be an editing process and I didn't see that with Freak Show. I'll still watch Hotel, but I can already barely keep track of all the characters and it hasn't even aired yet!

Hey, if the guy is supposed to be a d!ckhead, maybe a dildo on the forehead makes perfect sense.

Some spoilery stuff

Fans of American Horror Story know that the Halloween episodes are typically pivotal installments and usually two-parters. AHS: Hotel’s installment, called “Devil’s Night,” will be no different.
The first hour will feature the return of AHS alum Lily Rabe, playing serial killer Aileen Wurnos. The episode will be focused around the dinner party from hell at the Hotel Cortez, involving guest and detective John Lowe (Wes Bentley). Teases co-creator Ryan Murphy, “The biggest serial killers of all time all come to the hotel. Gacey. Aileen. John Lowe’s invited to a devil’s night dinner. He thinks someone is pulling a huge prank on him. It’s the biggest serial killers of all time in a room with him and he has to figure who is trying to make him lose his mind.”

Part two finds Criss playing a hipster who, along with his girlfriend, leaves Silverlake to avoid trick-or-treaters. Given the couple’s snotty attitude, their decision to check into the Hotel Cortez is not ideal. “They’re horrified they can’t get their artisanal cheese and they hate the sheets and they put Iris [Kathy Bates] through the wringer and she’s not happy,” says Murphy.

Am I the only one who has enjoyed every season - I really liked Freak Show, but mainly because it's the on;y one that truly terrified me! (My cousin made me watch IT when I was 4 and I've had a paralysing fear of clowns ever since). For me season 2 was highly entertaining, but the ridiculousness of it became too grating for me at times - I mean Ann Frank, meets mutant experiments, meets serial killer/rapist, meets nazi scientist, meets a nun possessed by the devil, meets an asylum, meets daddy/mummy issues, meets aliens and so forth, just became a bit too surrealist for me at times - though like I said I found it thoroughly entertaining and loved the character played by Miss Honey - gotta love a Matilda sidebar 🙂

You're the only one that I know that enjoyed FS, but good for you, I enjoy Coven when a lot don't.

I think you're referring to Sarah Paulson, who is not Miss Honey, she just looks similar. But SP is great in every season of AHS.

Sarah Paulson is one of the only redeeming quality of the show right now
If memory serves, I've usually enjoyed the Halloween episodes. Loved the zombie two parter they did in Coven, that was lots of fun.

Well I've been on the fence, but on this note, I think I might be sitting this one out...

I know the teasers are only very loosely based on what we actually end up getting and I was fairly open to the idea of her joining the ensemble cast as an actress... but that's two teasers now where they've had the title card flicker to "American Horror Story: Lady Gaga" and that's not something I'm interested in.

It's starting to make me think of when Murphy did Britney episodes of Glee and had her guest star

Omg, you're right. That wad terrible. I really hope that's not the whole season.
I'm all for having two season...on the condition that the second season is lead by a completely different team...without Ryan Murphy...with a new set of actors...and with no connection to AHS. On second thought I just want a more qualified team making another horror type show, with actual horror in it. None of the crap we've been getting in Freak Show and Coven.

Opening credits. Gotta hand it to them, these are pretty creepy. Good to see Kathy Bates has been given first credit too.
