American Idol Season 5

That's OK, I fixed it.

Was Paris the good-looking blonde who had the laryngytis in Hollywood? Yeah, she sucked too.

It's odd you know. When the first 3 girls sang I thought, "Wow...these girls are good. How are they going to pick a loser". Then the next three sang, and the answer was, "Easy."

That 16 year old with the big voice is going to sing now. This is going to be good.

Wait. That was disappointing. She's got the big voice, but she was pitchy all over the place. Hang on, I'll tell you what the judges say. Randy, and Paula - thumbs up. Even Simon thought she was great. Ok, tons of potential, but I still thought there were some ugly pitchy parts.
 
Nah, Paris isn't a blonde. She's black. LOL. She's the girl on the far left on my banner.
 
Isn't that the little 17 year old with the singing grandmother? If so, she was great. If not I don't think she's come on yet.

It was just a 28 year old named kinique, or something like that. She was OK, I guess.
 
Yeah, Paris is the one with the singing grammy.

Kinnik... I don't know. I haven't heard much of her. All they've shown was her Top 75 performance. Not enough to judge on if you ask me.
 
The last one was Kathryn - the one with the mother who's a voice coach.

She was pretty fine. I'd say it's between her, Paris, and the 16 year old with the big voice.
 
Allright, N4H, what did you think of the vote off thursday night?

I was definitely shocked to see Becky O'Danahou go home. It's clear she didn't have the best voice out of the bunch, though she did have the looks. She was a crowd favorite since before the show began. All the American Idol message boards were "omg Becky omg Becky" since about November. She was one of the most pimped contestants EVER by the show. So, actually let out an "Oh my god! What?!" when she was voted off.

The other three deserved to go. Not too sure about Patrick Hall. I didn't think he'd make the Top 12, but I dunno if he should have gone yet.

Did you notice the chemistry between Brenna and... everyone else? Think back to when it was Brenna and Becky waiting for the results. Ryan Seacrest says, "Do you two ladies have any last words for each other?" and they give each other dirty looks and Brenna half heartedly says, "Good luck?" Then, when Becky is actually voted off, Brenna goes to hug her, but Becky catches her hands and pushes her out of the way. During the other 3 vote off performances Brenna was up on the balcony or on the bleachers giving them all dirty looks.
 
Yeah, that Becky girl getting voted off was a bit of a shock. I thought she was one of the best. I would have rated her # 4.

Maybe she didn't stand out, or people just voted for someone else assuming she'd get voted in so didn't need their support, or something. I thought her farewell performance of the song was even better than the first time, because it had kind of an angry attitude, that really suited it. I bet if they voted again, she'd be way up in the standings.

What is it about that Brennah girl? Why do people vote for her? I don't get it. She had all the melody of a vacuum sucking up marbles. What's the attraction some people seem to have to bitcas?
 
I don't know. Some people like to keep dramatic people on the show for fun. All I know is that Brenna's "I'm a first class bi***" is REALLY getting old.

Tamyra Gray - Season 1 4th place
Ryan Starr - Season 1 7th place
Kimberly Caldwell - Season 2 7th place
Matthew Rogers - Season 3 11th place
Vonzell Solomon - Season 4 3rd place
Anthony Federov - Season 4 4th place
Mikalah Gordon - Season 4 11th place

It was really cool to see them all together. They did a group performance and it was really cool. It was nice to see a mix of the seasons. Mikalah (who i know) got a job on the Tyra Banks Show! Tyra personally offered her a job as a special correspondent for theshow! So each week she's gunna be that person that goes out on the streets to do something and the cameras follow her. I'm so excited for her! I still gotta email her mom with a big congrats.

I've never watched a single season of American Idol, but this year I thought I'd at least watch the audition episodes, just for laughs.

While there are many talented young singers this year, two caught my eye: Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee. I am now going to be watching the show just to see if either of those two make it to the final.

The male, Taylor Hicks, doesn't have the greatest voice, but he is an interesting personage and a great entertainer. His vocal style is a throwback...sort of an amalgamation of Ray Charles and Joe Cocker. He sings Soul and Blues music with true gusto and conviction. I don't care what anyone says, this guy is the goods.

Katherine McPhee has a versatility and power to her voice that has the potential to be truly showstopping. I love this gal. She's the sleeper in this competition. Not to be underestimated.

Katharine McPhee is definately my pick for the girls. Stunning vocals and an equally stunning girl!

For the guys i'd have to go with Chris Daughtry. Definately the only one of the bunch with the potential to really rock. This year's Bo Bice, i would hope.

Becky being first out was something of a shock. Whilst not the best female vocals of the night she was far from the worst. I was glad to see Bobby go though. Only David Boreanaz can get away with covering Manilow, in my opinion! 😉

Now, if we can just see the backs of David, Gedeon and Kevin as soon as possible so that we don't have to suffer them for too many weeks i'll be happier!

Ahh yes, Bobby. [does the Simpson's shuddering sound] I wish I knew how and WHY that boy made it to the 24. The man simply could not sing.

I'd have to say the same about Kevin. You kinda feel sorry for him, being the little geeky looking one of the bunch, but his voice is just not what i would call strong enough for this kind of competition. I really could not believe it when they told him he was in the top 24 when so many better singers were rejected.
 
Kevin. I think he gets a lot of sympathy votes being in the competition. I know he does from me. 🙁 LOL. I mean, his voice isn't bad, but it's not Top 20 material.

David. I actually like him. I don't think he'll make the Top 12, but I think he's iight.

Katherine is my choice for the girls too. Does she remind anyone of Sophia Bush?

Mandesa is probably my favorite right now. I love black women with very strong soulful voices. That's the type of person I want to win American Idol. Fantasia did win, but... I wouldn't call her voice strong. Unless you count quacking and yelling as strong.

The newest American Idol 5 rumor is...

Katherine McPhee has left the competition. One rumor says she was asked to leave, but they would sign her with a, though smaller, contract. Clive Davis, who everyone gets signed too, thinks she is a thread to the men who he wants to win this year. Second rumor is that Katherine doesn't get along with any of the girls and left because she didn't want to deal with them anymore. I don't know if any of it is true, I guess we'll find out tonight.

I googled for more info on "Kelly Pickler liar", and couldn't find any. It makes sense, because she just seems to be too professional to be this little hick, hillbilly she wants to portray herself as. She's never "bin" to the big city before. Yeah, right.

Where did you hear that rumour? It will be fun if it breaks on the mainstream media. Right now that whole "Pick Pickler" shtick is going to get her far.

See, Kelly Pickler is a lier... whose voice isn't that great. It was on Fox News a while back that she's a first class diva. She ordered the cooks at the hotel they stay at to have her food ready in 7 minutes and that they should feel privilaged to cook for her. I REALLY DONT LIKE HER ANYMORE.

The room about Katherine started a few days ago and may be true. I thought we'd find out last night, but the performance shows are filmed days before and the results are the actual live shows. Simon was also asked who is top 7 contestants are and he didn't mention Katherine, when we all know she is one of his top favorites.

Ew...I liked her until i heard that...now I dont like her very much anymore either.
 
I guess I'm the only one who thinks a guy will win this year? Aside from Paris, Mandisa and the brunette whose mom was a vocal coach..I wasn't thrilled with the girls (so far..who knows though).

I LOVE Taylor Hicks.. for the reason Old Master does. He's just awesome!
I think Chris Dogherty might win the entire competition.
I also like that guy who went second last night...he's kinda strange looking but MAN can he sing!

Yeah it is weird. She was also in a beauty pagant and they had to sing for it. There are a lot of American Idol conspiracies. If you're really THAT interested there's a website devoted to all of them.

Carrie Underwood just sang. Not the best song to sing because it didn't really show that she deserved to be the winner, ya kno?
 
Woohoo, Brenna's GONE! She looked like one of the chicks in the Reitman's commercials up here in Canada. In the commercial, a camera gets pointed at a woman and she starts posing like a supermodel, despite what she was doing at that minute...man she was annoying...Next on the list...Gedeon and his entirely fake smile...and it looks like this competition is Chris Daugherty's to lose right now. He just has to stay with songs in his wheelhouse and he'll knock 'em out.
