Buffy... after that, Darla/Angel is always fun... Angel/Nina could have been cute.

Buffy. It will always be Buffy & Angel for me. He's great with Darla and Faith, but, he will never love anyone as much as he loves Buffy.

Funny how Nina didn't even manage to get into the poll 😛.

Buffy's too scrawny for Angel.

Cordelia was perfect for Angel until she got fat, and even in her final appearence in Season 5, but for some reason, I really liked the pairing of Angel and Nina. It just seemed that from the few times we saw here that Nina was meant to be with Angel, and if there had been a Season 6 (or 7), we would have seen that relationship develope greatly ( My idea of the perfect Season 6 opener would be, Spike going off to Europe to be with Buffy, which would, of course, bring BTVS back on the air with a much larger budget, Angel winning the Shanshu, then marrying Nina. On the honeymoon, in the throes of passion, Nina would bite Ol' Broody, turning him into a werewolf and taking ATS off on a whole new direction)

I voted Buffy, but all the other relationships were cool too. The Cordeilia thing was a little more mature than the Buffy relationship, and progressed more naturally. He and Darla always had great chemistry, and Faith always makes things interesting. And Nina was pretty cute, too.

Lucky bastard.

Cordelia and Angel all the way.
I hope they can bring her back from the 'dead' in the season 6 comic. It was a mystical death so, who knows anything could happen.... Shut up! i can hope.

For me there is only one choice, and that is Cordy. We saw them go through all stages of their relationshp from the start, from friends to colleagues and then eventually more, and I bought in to that instantly because I like to be led through a love story from the beginning and watch it develop. I could believe in their story because it seemed natural that two people who were so close and had been through so much together would eventually develop romantic feelings for each other.

I simply adored watcing them fall for each other without even knowing it was happening, it felt like a wonderful privilege that the viewers were allowed to see what the characters weren't for such a long time. I was sure from very early on that Angel was falling in love with Cordy (the latter half of season two solidified that), but she was more of a closed book until Couplet in season three, when she gave Groo a makeover so that he looked just like Angel. That was like a total neon sign to me - subconcsiously her heart lay with Angel and she thought that by making Groo just like him she could love him as she loved Angel. That was when I knew that no matter what else happened they loved each other and I thought it was a very beautiful thing.

Of course what happened later was tragic and a waste of what could have been a wonderful ship, but You're Welcome went some way to healing those wounds, it was a beautifully done and very emotional episode. It just showed how amazing they could have been if Joss had taken the gamble and given them a chance.

C/A all the way.

Always and forever a Bangel fan so my vote when to Buffy. But if Buffy weren't around, I'd go with Faith. There's just something I really love between Faith and Angel but I can't exactly pinpoint it.

I know i'm in the minority here, but I thought the Angel/Nina thing had real potential and should have been developed more (maybe it would have in Season 6 if that had happened). Granted, Nina didn't give Angel his "one moment of perfect happiness" but it was plain to see (to me, anyhow) that she absolutely adored him, and they had the "inner demon to keep in check" thing in common. If Angel wasn't exactly in love with her, it was plain that he cared for her and thought that she was special. Of all the people he had known in LA over the years, she was the only one that he made arrangements for to get out of town before the final battle. Buffy and Cordelia were no doubt great loves in Angel's life, but let's face it, he lost both of them. Cordy died, and Buffy moved on, first with Riley, then Spike, and no doubt there will be someone else in Season 8. The two names don't lend themselves to a catchy combo like Spuffy or Bangle, but I guess you could say that I'm a Nangle shipper.

No matter what these two will always love each other. Spike has said it himself. I also really liked their chemistry. Although, I've heard it wasn't too good...

Angel and Cordy come in a close 2nd because I thought they would have made a cute couple.

i do like bangel. but i dunno... i think i got used to the idea of cordy and angel together after that plotline developed, and they went well together. with buffy it was always the end of the world for her, but with cordy... the end of the world would still happen, but cordy seemed able to handle it better. of course i loved their kiss in 'you're welcome'!! why did cordy have to die!?! ::runs off and cries::

Buffy. I actually didn't much care for any of the other options for Angel's character. I love, love Cordy but as a love interest for Angel I was just grossed out by it.

I actually couldn't have said that better!
I'm with Mirage! I ADORE Cordy, I think she was one of the best Buffyverse characters but I HATE what happened to her character from half-way through season 3 on...it was just wrong as far as I am concerned. Angel belongs with Buffy. Simple as that.

I voted for Darla.

That was a mature relationship grounded in history and connection - and, ultimately, parenthood. And it was sexy. They had a very strong, very familial connection. I liked watching all of the layers that Darla brought out in Angel. She made him face his inner Angelus. She wasn't a fairy tale. She felt very real and solid.
