I'd say I'm more as William than Liam but more like Angel than Spike and you got to vote for "yourself" right? 😉 And since it's about vampires the choice should be easy.
 
Spike. Hands down.
Everything about him is just more appealing than Angel.
1. Not always brooding
2. His hair actualyl looks cool
3. British accent
4. Love's bitch in all ways
5. Got himself a soul...OWN CHOICE

Just five of a long list. My point is, Angel is an OK character, but I find him dull in the longer run. Spike is always surprising, coming up with something new taht will blow your mind. And I like his evolution as a character more than Angel. To me, Spike progressed more than Angel ever could.

Originally, I really liked Angel. Then, in season 2, we were introduced to Spike. I was in love with Spike from the first episode he was in! When we started to see more of Spike, Angel started borimg me. Angelus was cool, but Spike is a million times better than Angel and Angelus!!!! 🙂

In my opinion, the "Spike attempted to rape Buffy" thing doesn't work as an argument for Angel. I mean, think about it...Spike had no soul when he tried to rape Buffy, and he felt so filthy afterwards that he went to make himself worthy for her. Then, after he got his soul, he could barely even look at Buffy for nearly half a season. When Angel had no soul, he killed one of Buffy's friends, tried to kill her several times, and nearly destroyed the world, but afterwards, he spent all of one episode ("Amends") thinking about killing Jenny before deciding, "Oh, I have a soul now, so all's forgiven." Plus, no fans ever give Angel flak for what he did as Angelus...why should Spike get criticized for what he did before he got his soul?

^ I agree sooooo much. In arguments that in the core is Spike VS Angel, Angel fans always pull the rape card. But when it comes to Angel, and others sayd "How about when he was Angelus?" They just make it out to be something different. When it's not. It's actually worse isn't it? Spike never killed any of Buffy's friends. Angel did. Spike tried, but still let's pull the no soul card. No soul = Evil. But still Spike defied that evil nature for so long. No only because of the chip, but because he wanted to. And look where it got him. Champion.
 
I kinda had this idea. Spike's soul and Angel's soul are different. Spike had chosen to get a soul so he remained almost the same because he was a good person before he got it, however Angel didnt choose and when he got his soul it was almost like he became another person. You may tear my idea to pieces like last time however as I see it now Angel and Angelus are different people similar to Glory and Ben in season 5. So whatever Angelus did cannot be blamed on Angel because it wasnt him. However Spike was good when he tried to rape Buffy and since the soul didnt change him much in my opinion he is to blame for it no matter how much he resents himself for it now.

Totally agree, i mean you can see the difference between Angel and Angelus in the way they act. But with spike, he acts the same soul or no soul.
 
Certainly Spike... because Angel is lame. His hair sticks right up and he's bloody stupid.

On a more serious note, it's definitely more interesting for me to watch a guy who's integrating his darkside and lightside into one complex character, struggling all the way, than one who splits them into two totally seperate entities (of which, then, the evil sadist is the way more interesting one, anyway...). MPS has been done to death on TV, hasn't it? I don't need to see it done to undeath. 😀

Plus: Bangel. Spuffy. No contest. (Shush, Kean. 😛 )

Angel is not stupid!!
Spike, definitely. Although I do like Angel, but Spike just has everything Angel has but better. And a smaller forehead.

Plus, like many have already mentioned, we've seen Spike grow so much over the course of the show(s). And the fact that he already started looking for redemption before he got his soul (somewhat) makes him only more adorable. Mind you, this is not me saying that Angel is stupid and/or unattractive (and hmmmmmm, Angelus! (sw)) it's just that, as a character, he's slightly less interesting and slightly more predictable then Spike. Or so I think.

I would have said Spike once, but I've realised recently that I actually quite like Angel. I like that he can be funnier than Spike. I like that he forms intense friendships with the people he works with, but does so quietly. I also love that he and Cordy are willing to give up so much more for the good of the people they protect than Spike and Buffy were.
 
Cordy and Angel's relationship is some of the few things I really like about Angel...And it hurts me so much that they never got more out of it. Who didn't cry at the end of You're Welcome? Waaaaah.
 
Spike! There's tons of reasons, most of which have been mentioned. He's pretty and reads and yet also sits around playing a gameboy in Angel's office.

Also for Punk! Spike. . . . I just have a thing for the punk guys. . . that can pull it off. . . . and he so can.
 
I voted Angel even though i do like Spike a lot i think Angel has his funny moments and is brill when he turns to Angelus, but Spike is a brilliant character

For me there is no comparison...i loved Angel the very first time i saw him in "welcome to the hellmouth"...i love the show "angel" because it's so different from whatever i have seen on tv...it shows complicated characters...people who do things and they have good reasons to do them...sometimes there is no black and white!
