Hmm. Oh well, I guess a 2004 release was a bit much to ask, but I hope we get more than 6 commentaries this time. This has gotta be extra special since its the last we're gonna see of Angel on DVD.

The video box sets also have a sticker saying "The final season not on DVD until 2005" which is mean.

Ah well, got to look at the videos at work, me being of simple mind was impressed.

I'm still having withdrawls waiting for the Seventh Season of BTVS to come out in Canada! Grrr....
~rocks back and forth~ Stuck...watching...reruns...need...fresh...Spike.... :hanged:

In my Angel Season 4 box set (in North America) it says February. Don't hold your breath though box-sets rarely come out on time.

Angel Season 5 Details Announced

From: TV Shows on DVD

First off the press release (disk numbers underlined, commentaries in bold):

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the final season, Angel has finally emerged from 200 years of darkness, but the fine line between good and evil is harder to see than ever!

That's the tag line for Angel - The Complete 5th Season, which Fox is announcing this Halloween weekend (how appropriate!) for an in-store date of February 15, 2005. Fox's information shows that this will be released in 16x9 Anamorphic Widescreen, which is what we would expect (please read the "Video" section of our 4th Season review, as well as Creator Joss Whedon's statement for more details). Sound is in Dolby Digital Surround 2.0 for each of the English, French, and Spanish soundtracks provided. Also found are English and Spanish subtitles.

List price is $59.98 (CAN$89.98 in Canada), for 990 minutes that cover 22 episodes. Among those, look for a special re-appearance by Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia. Fox Home Entertainment hasn't sent out the cover art yet (stay tuned for that), but here is the disc-by-disc breakdown of episodes and announced extras:

Disc 1:
"Conviction" (Part 1) - Commentary by Writer/Director Joss Whedon
"Just Rewards" (Part 2)
"Unleashed"
"Hell Bound"
Featurette:
"Hey Kids! It's Smile Time!"

Disc 2:
"Life of the Party"
"The Cautionary Tale of Nemero Cinco"
"Lineage"
"Destiny" - Commentary by Director Skip Schoolnik, Writers David Fury and Steven S. DeKnight and Juliet Landau.

Disc 3:
"Harm's Way"
"Soul Purpose" - Commentary by Director / Actor David Boreanaz, Writer Brent Fletcher, Christian Kane
"Damage"

Disc 4:
"You're Welcome" - Commentary by Director / Actor David Fury, Christian Kane and Sarah Thompson
"Why We Fight"
"Smile Time"
"A Hole In The World" - Commentary by Writer/Director Joss Whedon, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof
Featurette:
"Angel 100"

Disc 5:
"Shells"
"Underneath" - Commentary by Director Skip Schoolnik, Writer Elizabeth Craft, Writer Sarah Fain and Adam Baldwin
"Origin"
"Time Bomb"
Featurette:
"Angel: Choreography of a Stunt"

Disc 6:
"The Girl in Question"
"Power Play"
"Not Fade Away" - Commentary by Co-Writer/Director Jeffrey Bell
Featurettes:
"Angel: The Final Season" (27:15)
"To Live & Die in L.A.: The Best of Angel" (8:48)
"Halos and Horns: Recurring Villainy" (9:22)
"Angel Unbound: The Gag Reels" (8:51)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, just like Buffy some actors in the final season. Hopefully they'll be cool. Commentary for Not Fade Away but not by Joss. Anyone know if Bell is any good? Cant recall hearing one of his commentaries.

Smile Time feature seems to be on the wrong disc but oh well. Shame theres no featurette about the end of the Buffyverse but ah well. 9 mins of gags though 😀

Interestingly this seems to be for America, what about Britain, we usually get it first? Of course wont mind if we get it the same time (just after my birthday as well, so thats my bday present sorted!) Wonder if they'll have it in the book style. They are stopping them but would be silly to have every other season in the book style but not this one.

Does that mean the episode, "Your Welcome" or are they talking about something else?

Sarah bleedin Thompson for You're Welcome!? How WRONG is that, on sooooooooo many levels!?

But yaaaay about the Amy commentery 😀 *Squeeeeeeeeeeee!*

Maybe Sarah will talk about how even she hates "Eve". She did have a fair part in the episode though, she did cause the mayhem.

Ohh... I so want this DVD... Might even buy it even though I've just seen the last *cries* eppie...

Thanks for the info! Shame there's not CC commentary on "You're Welcome" though. Can't wait!

It looks ok, nice pics used of Angel and Spike but all togehter it looks abit plain. And totally hate the disc art, sure its something different but I like the old ways and they had enough cast members to put on there.

That is neat! I really like it.

Not a lot of interesting featurettes though, in my opinion. Just the Smile Time one, should be funny.
