Anne Rice

i just finished Pandora it was good, i got Blackwood Farm and Blood and gold from the library. I was reading the book cover about what the story is and it was talking about the mayfair series. Do you need to have read those books to understand either Blood and gold or Blackwood? do they mention the witches at all?

Also, they didn't make movies of any of the books besides interview and qotd did they?

one more thing..i was just watching interview again on tv and it louis had said something about not being able to read minds..can he? i thought he could in the books but i can't remember

Um, I don't really think that you need to know the Mayfair stories. She kind of fills you in on what you need to know. In Blood and Gold, I don't remember the Mayfairs being mentioned(I also read it over a year ago) and in Blackwood Farm, the mayfairs did have a significant role, but I never read the Mayfair witch stories and understood what she was saying.

And your question about Louis, I don't think he can. If I remember right(could be wrong) he isn't strong enough too. Louis is the weakest of the vampires in the series. I know for sure Lestat offered him more power after QoTD, but Louis turned him down. But I think he can now after the events that happen in Merrick.

it is always good to read her books in order as in every book there will be a referance that will make more sence if you have read the others but it dont matter too much as she is a skilled writter🙂

It does. I know there's times where I hafta look back at a book to check the happenings to remind myself. lol

how are those? I read the back of one of them the other day, but my book store didn't have the first so I figured look for it later.

ok thanks, also i have read vittorio the vampire yet..i didn't think it sounds that great. Do you need to read that one to get either blood and gold or blackwood farm? thanks

Vitorrio, if I remember right, isn't in the series. I was going to read it, but then he says something along the lines that he will never appear in the V.C.'s again, so I stopped reading to a later date. I still haven't read it all the way through, but He's not mentioned in Blood and Gold and Blackwood Farm. (blood and gold is more of Marius's story, Blackwood Farm is Lestat and a new vampire that makes his debut in that book)

They're quite brilliantly written, and very very steamy. Most people either love 'em or hate 'em. They're pretty intensely sexual, which everyone more or less knows going in, but a lot of people don't like the fact that it isn't just "nice" smut (whatever the hell that is) but bondage, dom/sub, S & M stuff.

ok thanks trustno1, yeah vittorio isn't in the series really, well it's in the New vampire chronicles w/ Pandora.

Yeah, but reading Pandora's story kind of makes sense, Vittorio's is just kinda there. I'm going to read it eventually, but I just never get around to it

yeah, same here, i'm more interested in the stories of the other vampires that we already know
