My girlfriend and I have been watching the show and I was wondering if any of you guys are into this show? It kind of kept its campiness throughout the show (we are on season 3) while Buffy lost it rather quickly.

I love the show. What about all of you?

I remember catching it on tv a few times years and years ago. Was never a huge fan. It's a spin-off of the Hercules show, isn't it? The Pylea arc on Angel always felt quite Hercules/Xena to me, lol. Maybe that's why I didn't like it much. Lucy Lawless is a babe though!

I never thought about that before. Good call.

Xena's the sh**. I would make it a point to stay at my grand parents house after school until the episode was over and i would be driven home. The characters remind me of Buffy characters in a way. Buffy and Willow, Xena and Gabby. Angel/Spike and Xander, Aires and Joxer. regardless, loved the show. was amazing

Didn't Xena come out (I don't mean of the closet) before Buffy? I remember it being a big thing around about the Buffy time.

Autoclos (Bruce Campbell) was a favorite character of mine. I also liked Callisto as a recurring baddie
I enjoyed the show- it was pure enjoyable camp for the most part- but I was never mad about it.

I like it well enough, and the campiness is part of the charm for me. That said, I haven't seen that many, but one day I hope to see the entire series.

It is kind of stupid and campy, but sometimes the show surprises you in a good way. It is the show we watch when our brains are on zero and we want to enjoy camp. I love bad television.

It is really very gay. I mean Xena and Gabrielle kiss several times. I mean these are the ultimate galpals.

You are exactly like my girlfriend. She watched it every Saturday morning before her mom woke up. I agree with you on the characters. Callisto reminds me of rogue Faith and Glory as one. Deliciously evil!

That is about the only thing I know about it. The only thing I ever heard about the show was that.

Lucy Lawless is pretty much considered to be the mother of all lesbians. It is pretty much all you need to know about the show. Sometimes it's gayer than the L Word which is a show about lesbians.

@GwenRaiden It was Mrs Jackson as well. But I think Lucy came first. 14 years before Janet if my maths is right.

Very erotic. Today has been very erotic on the boards.
I don't think Xena was gay, didn't she have boyfriends/ men-with-benefits? I mean, back when she was evil. She also seduced Joxer at one point.

I see. Interesting. Wow. It really was a show ahead of it's time then wasn't it?

It really was. The show was very inclusive towards minorities in general.

Oh, I think she did but I always thought that Xena was bisexual with a leaning towards women. Gabby was her true love.
I see Xena as bi and Gabrielle as her soulmate as well.

It was all about girl power and equality. I love how Gabrielle grew throughout the show.

One of my favorite shows. Took me forever to track down the Anchor Bay sets. They're so rare.
Nice! I only have season 1 and 3 on DVD 🙁 They are hard to get in my country.
