April Fools: The Comics have been cancelled! :(

I seriously hate April Fools Day. I pretty much ignore everything everyone says for a full day, which sucks. I really hope nobody actually got in trouble over posting an April Fools joke though. That would be seriously lame.

When I read the title I assumed it was about the Angel comics (I didn't check which board it was in). Then I noticed it was suppose to be from Joss in the first post. I didn't believe it for a sec. People have always complained, and I seriously doubt he would all of a sudden come out and whine about us complaining and cancel. Specially when I heard Season 8 is still doing well.

So while the joke did make me smile, it did in no way fool me.

I was upset when reading the title, but then I remembered the day.

I'm SO glad it isn't true. I really love where S8 is going, I enjoy the new storylines, new character developments. Even if I didn't like S8, I won't wish them to be cancelled because I know some fans love them so much and because they're giving life to fandom. If S8 wasn't around, I'm sure many fans would have left fandom by now. Some have commented that they were on the verge of moving on until S8 arrived and now they have new canon to talk about, new ideas for fanfic, new developments and stories for our characters.

As a Xander fan, I really enjoyed his character development this season. I was never as satisfied with Xander's storyline since S3, and now I'm so giddy with happiness. My character had been ignored and neglected for plenty of seasons and now he's given his well deserved focus. Me happy. 🙂

The current storyline sets my teeth on edge. I probably dislike it more than any other storyline Joss has ever done anywhere, anytime.

But I wouldn't want to see the comics cancelled. I want to see them finish and not suck. And I'm sure all the complaints just encourage Joss. :smile3:

Buffy4ever2k10 agrees: I´m with you Andrew but if Xander dies i´m out. Joss is planning to cross a line i guess and Xanders death would fit the profile.

I don't think Joss would permanently kill Xander (or Willow) at least until he was ready to end the Buffy story for good. The whole dynamic would just fall apart without them.

The line being crossed for me is that Buffy is now having sex with Angel with the blood of her friends still wet on his hands. I don't think anything could be more repulsive, no matter what excuse he has for why he did it. (Or worse yet, lies that he didn't do it, despite the fact that we saw him.)

Thank God. I ♥ Kristine, and I would have been so upset if she really did get banned... Although when I read her posts I seriously thought "Wow that's so out of character for her go to off on staff like that!"

Our entire argument on her was an April's fool 😀
It started out as BEG trying to fool me over PM (saying I got an infraction), but we settled that really soon, decided it was too soon and to rather play out the scene in full dramatic mood in public 😀

I am really honoured, though, that you guys would miss me so much 🙂
