It was brilliant, it was everything TV should be complex storytelling that broadcast networks are afraid to do. The first two episodes were confusing but completely made sense by the end, the intertwined stories were brilliant, it made stuff we've seen in older episodes relevant and funny all over again when the jokes paid off in the end.
I love that they made the series for the fans, if they had made it trying to get new people, they never would have done it like that, its far to confusing. This was made knowing people we're going to watch all the episodes and would watch them relatively close together.
I wish more television was like that!
I agree there should have been more GOB, and a little less Tobias, he isn't as funny constantly in the spotlight, he's a much funnier background character. (him getting onto the gay ship thinking it was a pirate ship is one of the funnies television moments EVER, I still laugh out aloud every time!
And Kristen Wiig as Lucille was amazing! I also could have done with a little less George, I was never a fan of his stories, but he works as a background character.
