Wow, a Spuffy turning into a Bangel for a month? Gotta give a girl points for that. Me, I could never 'ship something I'm against like say Cangel or Bander. But I don't mind Spuffy (I like S7 Spuffy), I just prefer Bangel. Bangel is fated to be together, to try and pretend anything else would be living a lie IMO.

I think this was a pretty nifty idea. I already shipped Bangel and Spuffy for a while there, but eventually couldn't resist the power and gravity of the latter. I don't buy the whole "destined to be together" crap that the comics have been putting out there. I just love how the show left both ships open. It would be very a sad day if Joss decided to ruin hope for half of his fan-base if he ever closed either of these ships for good (canonly-speaking).

That's great, Joan, that you were able to try and 'ship Bangel. I've been watching the show since it's inception in 1997 and I could never get into Bangel. I couldn't even pretend for a month. Just couldn't. It's not because I'm a Spuffy either... I liked Riley and Buffy together as well. I also like both Cangel and Dangel. So I pretty much like anyone with Buffy and Angel as long as they aren't together lol

I get why some people don't like Bangel, it can be a bit over dramatic, I can't argue that and I also don't like the love-at-first-sight thing but I'll always have a soft spot for Bangel and (Big WTF moment) I kinda like Angel's character a bit more when he's on BTVS because at least on BTVS he isn't always depressed. On ATS I found he was depressed majority of the time but that's just my opinion. To me it's shocking when people like Buffy and Riley, everyone I know hates Buffy/Riley. And I also know a lot of people who hate Cangel so good for the people who like it. And I can't argue that Spuffy were "just friends" in Season 7, they were certainly in love they just didn't really act on it

Whoa, I give you props for shipping Bangel a whole month Joan! 🙂 I couldn't get back on the ship after s3, even if I tried. But, I disagree about the fated part too, and I'm not just saying that because I want Buffy to be with Spike. 🙂 Even if they are fated to be together, it doesn't always mean that it will come true. Isn't one of the major themes in the Buffyverse defying fate and creating your own destiny? The same could happen with Buffy's love life. 🙂

Lol, I remember when Becky and I went Bangel for a month (Doing it all by your lonesome would be awfully... Lonely. (sw) ). It's still on my calendar. 😀 It's funny to see this thread still getting replies!

Personally, I thought that it was a lovely learning experience. Plus, I adore the Bangels, and after my little switcheroo month I felt a lot more at home in the Bangel forum. 🙂

Also... I really didn't think that it was that bad. 😛 It was kinda fun! The fanfiction was horrible, but it wasn't that bad. I recommend it to all those who simply can't understand the opposing ship. 😀

I'm anti-Bangel, it has nothing to do with being pro any 'ship. I like that Joan tried this cause I know I couldn't.

You're absolutely right. I believe completely that Buffy could spend the rest of her life quite happily with either Angel OR Spike and never have any regrets. (Of course, life with Angel would be extremely boring...)
