Avril Lavigne

Michelle Branch is way better. At least she can play the guitar when Avril claims she can. In her whole album she only plays part of one song.
 
Sorry I don't have the album and I don't know wether they play guitar. But even if they didn't singing is also an art, so that doesn't really matter.
 
I'm beginning to hate Avril just a bit more each day as I walk through the halls of my high schools and see these newfound 'punk' girls who think being punk is wearing a tie and socks on your arms. I've known some of these girls all my life and until Avril came onto the scene (who's music I really do adore) were wearing a new shade of pink everyday and the smallest shorts they could find. It's just so frustrating seeing these girls tote around saying how punk and great they are then go off and listen to more bubblegum pop. Grrrrr.
 
I couldn't agree more, this is indeed exactly why I hate Avril, and even more the girls, who dress like this, trying to be hip, by wearing ties and saying they're punk, they really hit rock bottom!
 
Like I said, she fake. I hate the stupid ties she wears. Have you seen the video for skater boy? (i refuse to call it Sk8r Boi). She's acting so 'punky', it bugs the crap out of me.
 
I really love the CD, but I dont' like punk. Not that I dislike it, but when I venture outside of my happy 80's pop world (Dude, its great I just got 'Cargo' and found Men at Work on vinyl; but I digress) I just don't listen to it. I think its a wonderful //POP// CD, it has cute beats and the girl is adorable. The Complicated video didn't bug me so much because it was more of a teenage rebellion feel. Her and her friends terrorizing the mall, I for one can certainly realte. But the whole Skater Boy thing was really dumb. She's not punk, and she doesn't sing punk songs. So starting to bash a car at the end of her video is a really dumb. And she does sound terrible live (MTV Video Music Awards Preshow), which I will simply bear by never going to a concert of hers.

sorry, may i also remind you that, you don't have to have a certain image to sing certain songs in my opinion, look at the opera babes, who are very fit unlike most opera singers (no offence intended)
 
I don't think Avril's punk, but she's fine for what she is. I have only heard a few of her songs so far... I don't have the album. I really do like the song "Unwanted", because I can really, really relate to it. (This disturbs me, but ah well.) I used to like "Complicated" but it's a little over-played.

I've never read any of the interviews with her so I have no opinion on her as a person, but her music is OK. Don't hate it, but it's not my absolute favourite. She is a LOT better than people like Britney Spears though... at least Avril seems to have some talent.

Also... the tie's kinda cute and I love the tank top and baggy cropped cargos, but I don't like the socks on her arms.
 
I love Avril Lavigne! 🙂 I love her new single "I'm With You", I like that song so much! 🙂 I think she is much much better then Britney Spears.
 
How did a post get so big without me noticing, I think Avril is damn fine, and has got some good songs, hopefully shell be around a lot more. Good to have something that isnt manufactured rubbish like Gareth Gates.
 
I don't like her anymore... I did when she first came out but she is WAYYY too cocky... she has to put down other artists to make herself look like a badass... kinda corny... and her image is soo stupid... what is with the neck tie?
 
i love Avril's music, and i think she's great. my fave song is Complicated, at first i didn't like it, but now i do.

I am going off her a bit as well, think its since i saw the sk8r boi video, its really cringey! I like her music, going off her a lot tho, don't like her "image" very much.
