I'll have to go with Zoe over River myself (Firefly) as she's tough as nails AND sane, and unlike River she doesn't hide from pain.
I'll agree with Katniss (Hunger Games) as the only reason she volunteered was to save her sister (had she actually been chosen randomly then I think she'd have just escaped to the forest figuring the only death matches she was willing to have would be against the cops), and she just will not give up. She's not just fighting to survive, she's fighting for the people she loves, and stays resilient. When she threatened to eat the poisoned berries, I think she'd have actually gone through with it (can't say the same for Peeta).
I'll also agree with Black Widow, Buffy, Mystique, Ripley (Alien), Sarah Connor (Terminator), and Dana Scully (who doesn't have the vibe, but is bad ass mentally and physically when she has to be) for the reasons given in one vid or the other.
And because I want to throw someone new in I'll add Yu Shu Lien (played by Michelle Yeoh) and
Jen Yu from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I loved both of those tough and determined characters. Oops, I see someone else already has above. Hmmm...
Lady Eboshi then. (And I loved her line, "Watch closely, everyone. I'm going to show you how to kill a god. A god of life and death. The trick is not to fear him.")
And honorable mention to Hit Girl, but I only liked the first movie because it didn't take itself seriously, and neither did I. It's amazing how hilarious it is to see her massacre thugs and mobsters, though, and I don't think I've ever seen her shot by her dad (as she wears some armor) once without laughing.
I've only seen season 1 of The Walking Dead, and I still have not seen Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (which more than one person keeps trying to get me to see and probably will one day). The 2 women listed in the vid sound like they'd have made the list if I had. And for what it's worth, I like the tricky, clever, and skillful (like say Fred in Angel) as well as the bad asses.
