Bangel Fan Fiction Rec Thread

I can't imagine Lorne & Buffy interacting since he was one of the people pimping Cangel and trying to get Angel to enter into the same relationship he had with Buffy but with Cordelia, when Angel had just returned from three months overseas away from all his friends and the PTB mission to mourn Buffy and then she was resurrected and only two hours away.

Why Lorne? You're supposed to be an empath psychic. Couldn't you feel Angel's grief and love for Buffy?

And he knows Angel is still immortal and has a happiness clause in his curse.

Lorne had never met Buffy and therefore didn’t know that she was Angel’s soulmate. Plus Lorne was manipulated by Jasmine re Cangel craziness (that’s my head canon and I’m sticking with it).

Maybe Lorne is friends with Sweet and knew about the OMWF kiss. Or maybe he had psychic flashes of Spuffy sex without the "Buffy is mentally ill and needs Angel more than ever" subtext.

I don't know how far back Jasmine's plot goes. Skip was definitely tricking Cordy all throughout season 3, especially in Birthday. When Skip said each major event in their lives was manipulated it was such a Firefly moment. This guy in the first episode said the Alliance knew everything about them and Jayne said he was a bad liar and it proved the Alliance didn't know anything.

I'm going to chock it up to 50% bad AtS writing and 50% Lorne wrongly assumed that because Angel didn't lose his soul from perfect happiness when he heard Buffy was resurrected, he must not be in love with her anymore.
 
Anyone know whether all the fics on 'Scribes of Angel' were archived or transferred anywhere else after the site was closed? I can only access a few pages through Wayback Machine.
 
Not that I know of, unfortunately. Is there a specific story you're looking for?

Most of them are around but you need to know the story you are looking for. If you tell @Grace what it was about there is a 90% chance she will know it. There is a small chance I can help too 🙂

Not looking for anything in particular, just wanted to explore. They had hundreds of fics there and it would have been nice to be able to browse through them again.

I see. Some good places for browsing Bangel fics are Archive of our Own, Denial Haven, Sublime.

Yeah I know all the others. It's just Scribes had such an extensive range, including non-Bangel/General fics. Sad that it's no longer accessible - I had hoped to be able to browse them again.
 
I don't know if DS saved them, but you can get in touch with her through PM on Blood Roses and I'm sure she'll be happy to answer your questions.

I am looking for a fic. I can't remember everything but here is what I do:

This fic is one where Angel is somehow in a different dimension, in the dimension he is at, he died at the Zeppo in the apocalypse fight. Before that, Willow had fixed his curse and Buffy and he were able to be together. Buffy is pretty depressed when Angel died. I think Dawn and Spike are in this fic as well. I know it isn't much but if anyone recognizes it let me know!

I am starting to think I made that story up. Lol. I swear I remember reading it late I to the night.... I think it was one denial haven but there are sooo many fics on that website!
 
I went back to read some of the Bite-or-Avoid (From the Ashes) fic (which was mentioned upstream) because I wanted to see how she handed the mile high sex scene (yes there is a plane sex scene and its glorious - but you need to be of age so insert warning here) and I'm trying to write sex scenes and I suck at them so I'm trying to read different sex scenes ...anyway this is way too much info ... lol

The point is, I started reading it again and I just had to share this part of the fic which is so amazing. It's a beautifully written third person perspective on Angel (its Vi one of the new slayers)'s perspective when she first sees Angel:

She felt it then, a twisting in her gut unlike any other before it. Something forewarning of great age, and even greater power. She didn’t register it until she saw him, all toned muscle and angular features and movements like a great black panther. Swift and silent, shimmering even in the shadow of night. But it was those dark eyes that startled her, millions of miles of memory swirling like a squall within their turbulent depths.

And then Vi's perspective on seeing Buffy for the first time after her reunion with Angel.

And Vi felt like she was seeing Buffy, the real Buffy, for the first time. It all finally made sense, everything that had so perplexed and aggravated her and the other potentials back in Sunnydale.

Despite her ferocious protectiveness of Dawn, her connection to Spike, her unfaltering defense against the First, Buffy had often been withdrawn, heartless. She claimed it was the burden she carried, the calling that made what happened to the world her responsibility. Maybe she had really believed that. Maybe it was even partly true. But the real reason behind her detachment was clear, now that it no longer existed.

Buffy’s heart had been lost to her, adrift somewhere in the City of Angels, captive of the vampire with a soul.

Anyway - I always forget about this fic because it's a DARN WIP. But her writing is amazing. So here is another shameless plug for it because its good. And also - don't read it on FF.net because there are two extra chapters on LJ that aren't on FF.net.
 
I wanted to share a new B/A fic that went up today:

It's from a writer new to the Buffy and B/A fandom. The summary is as follows: A portal is opened outside of LA, giving beings of any dimension an open door into the city. Angel dispatches the demons that come through. When someone he loves transcends, his world is turned upside down. (During/replacing AtS "Heartthrob" and after BtVS "The Gift")

Chapters 1 of 3 are up now. I know she has the other chapters written so it shouldn't be a long wait for the other ones to post. It won't be a frustrating WIP (like my fic that I haven't updated in months lol). Anyway go check it out! 🙂
 
I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place but I’m looking for a fic set in BTVS season 2 during Bewitched,Bothered and Bewildered where Buffy and Angelus are secretly seeing each other and Xander does the love spell and Angelus tortures Xander for casting it

This is the right place to post this! I feel like I have skimmed this fic before let me go searching and if I find I will let you know.
I found it's called You’re Still Mine by Tani here’s the link where I found it You're Still Mine but now I’m looking for two more fics Everyday Lives Saga by Tia Lorna and there’s one it’s not finished as far as I know it’s called 2 for 1 by Ames it’s an all human fic and Angel and Angelus are twins and Buffy is involved with both of them I used to have these fics saved on my hard drive but it got wiped and now I can’t find them if anybody has copies of theses fics can you please send me one

All chapters on this fic are up. This is a great little bangel fic from a new writer. Again - if you like bangel fic I encourage you to check it out to promote writers in our fandom writing for the bangel ship!

Ooh, I'm excited for the last chapter!
Thank you @dcai0830 I'll take a look at it tonight. I have so many fics to read these days and I'm starting to think that I won't be able to keep up with it. I don't want to say that there is too much of it because it's all kinds of exciting and I'm glad I'll have lots to read when I find the time but right now I wish I could at least have time to read the new ones and the ones that are featured on the Sunnydale Fanfic Club podcast. I read Windows to the Soul yesterday because I wanted to read Unconquerable Souls soon (and listen to the episode) but now I kind of want to read that one since it's written by a newbie.

So many things to read!! I should make myself a list!
