Makes me ever so sad that it's over but I think it ended at a good point. The final made me happy and sad all the way through, what else can you really ask from a final episode.
I think the best thing about BSG for me is that where I love a character or hate one the feeling is always so strong.

What did you think of season 4.2?
 
I really like season 4.2.
I think they took the show in a really good direction, although a lot of people disagree with that.
Things just got really intense, even more so than before in season 4.2 and I really liked that about it.

I absolutely love season 4.2.
I think each of the characters finally come into their own, issues are dealt with rather well and its gut wrentching what happens to Gaeta!

Thats why I asked because to be fair it 'ended' about 5 times. You could have ended at many points and no one would have blamed you if you thought that was the end.

I meant his 4.2 but yeah, when he lost his leg was so sad.

I wasn't huge on Cally anyway, but I loved her final episode - that was awesome.

I also loved Tyrol when he found out!
 
I was never a huge fan of Cally either but it was still really, really sad. Also, I really hate Tory which made me even more emotional about the whole scene.
Really was great when he found out. I was watching the screen just shouting "yes, I love Tyrol now" lol

I was so glad they didn't make Tory and Tyrol a couple - especially as it seemed like that was in the works!

I just watched the last episode last night. While I think it was by no means the "awful" ending that I had heard fans speak about I wasn't entirely sold. Now,it was two in the morning so cut me some slack, but the Earth shown 150,000 years in the future, that's us right?

I think the going back to basic approach that the Fleet adopts is a little too neat in tidy and copping it off by highlighting people's desire for a "clean slate" is a little too easy. In a Fleet of 38,000 souls, and not one disagrees with that approach? It just didn't feel right.

As for Kara, I kinda found myself wishing that she had stayed dead ( I can't believe I just said that). I think her character was ruined in a way...I was just left cold by alot of say the last half hour of the show.

I liked some of the aspects of it being our Earth 150000 years ago, like I do like the fact that Hera is 'Eve' and that their beliefs and philosophies passed down through the eons to the beliefs we have now, so in a sense their humanity/civilisation did live on, but I too found it a little annoying that 38000 people and not one of them argued.

Honestly, I would have preferred them to add a little more mythology in the last season that would set up a faction of humanity that became, say 'Atlantis' as they really would have been believable as that - though I expect that was due to Stargate having reign over Atlantis!

BUT I loved the fight and I have to admit, the single greatest moment for me is that moment of peace that is destroyed by Tyrol because Tory killed Cally - that was absolutely wonderfully played.


I love Kara ALL the way through the season - until she became an 'Angel'. I was also a little annoyed at the Gaius-Angel/Caprica-Angel characters being 'Angels' too.
The reason this doesn't sit well with me is because of the 'sex' scenes between Caprica-Angel and Gaius in the earlier seasons and the obvious jealousy from Caprica-Angel whenever Gaius got some actual loving.

I don't know what I wanted from that, but I wanted more.

I think over all the characters though, Gaius was the one that was badly handled in that final half season.

I adore the little joke as well on the hill side when Gaius points out the mating potential and Adama and Tigh rip him about thats all he thinks about🙂

I did, however like the season as a whole and even enjoyed the finale, even though, as you say, was a little too neat.

I wouldn't have minded a 'Quantum Leap' style end, had they had the balls to do it - just end with a black screen and some writing saying 'The Fleet wandered the galaxy for the next 100 years looking for a New Earth' and the simply 'The End?'

It just seemed to lose its backbone or something. As the ship fell apart so too did the story. I mean what was Kara really? Was she an Angel? In the first 3 seasons I was SO caught up with this dream of Earth and the mythology surrounding it but the show NEVER delivered on it. Also, the suggestion that the adage of "All this has happened before and will happen again" will ring true and history will once again recycle itself really disappionted me. If that is the case and we learned NOTHING from past mistakes and humanity is doomed to reset itself over and over, it just makes the story and humanity itself seem so futile. What's the point?

A show that created such a deep well of mythology should offer you something more than that.
 
I just finished watching season 3 and all I can say is, WOW. Crossroads part 1 and 2 were incredible! I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of Lee being all lawyer, but regardless, Gaius' whole trial gave me chills. I can't believe he was found not guilty...I was NOT expecting that! And the reveal of the Final Five officially made me love Tigh. This line is one of my favorites of the whole series: "My name is Saul Tigh. I'm an officer in the Colonial Fleet. Whatever else I am, whatever else it means, that's the man I want to be. And if I die today, that's the man I'll be." Also, Bear McCreary did a great job with the "All Along the Watchtower" cover. I mean, the band playing it was certainly nowhere near the level of Dylan or Hendrix, but recreating such a famous song is a difficult task and Bear pulled it off well. I never cease to be impressed with his music.

Also, KARA'S BACK! As I've said before, I've read tons of spoilers and knew she'd be back after her Viper blew up in Maelstrom, but still, Katee Sackhoff being left out of the credits until the very end of Crossroads pt. 2 did give me a little scare. As glad as I am that she's back, though, the whole angel thing that apparently happens in the finale seems like it'll be really disappointing...maybe it'll make more sense in the context of the finale.

Alright, I'm off to start season 4!

What parts is it that you are not understanding exactly?

*Trys to remember what happens in first half*

There is a nuclear attack on the colonies by the Cylons and everyone is trying to get away so that the entire human race doesn't die.
 
Like, there's this woman with blond hair and is supposed to be really sexy, and I guess she's a robot...? I don't know, exactly.
 
Don't know how many BG fans that also watch The big bang theory but if you do you'll recognise this. The cylon toaster. 😀
