What's the show like? Well, in a nutshell, A race of robots, created my man, called Cylons, wipe out the 12 Colonies of Kobol, and the Galactica, a retired warship, is the only military ship to survive, along with a small handful of civilian ships that managed to escape. Commander William Adama, the Galactica's commander, and newly sworn in President Laura Roslin agree that the only hope for the survival of the human race is to find the missing 13th Colony of Kobol, a planet the ancient text refers to as "Earth".

I was wondering when someone was going to start this thread.
The new season so far has been extremely awesome. I particularly loved Baltar's discussion with Head Baltar, which was hilarious.
Although, the show has essentially turned into Baltarstar Gauislactica, so I'm pretty happy that he didn't feature at all in last nights episode, he's getting a little old.
Same with Starbuck. As much as I love the character, her "I'M SO CRAZY AND I KNOW THE WAY TO EARTH LOL" schtick is getting old, although I'm really interested in seeing what exactly her "special destiny" is and how she was resurrected etc.
Anyone have any speculation on who the final cylon is?
I'm sort of beginning to think it's Zarek.

I don't think Starbuck died is season 3. I think that "storm" was a wormhole to Earth. Or, they are bringing in the ship of Lights from TOS.
I used to think that Laura was the final Cylon, but, Ron Moore said that the final Cylon is not one of the main characters (Adama, Apollo, Laura, ect) but has been on the show since the beginning of the series, and Tom Zarek fits that.

My money's on Gaeta. That may be the secret Baltar knows.

Probably a coincidence, but still neat.
The Ship of lights can can also been seen in the opera house in Baltar's vision in "Kobol's Last Gleaming".

Apparently, it can also be seen just before Starbuck's viper exploded in Maelstrom. I haven't been able to spot it myself, though, so I don't know if it's true or not.

I know before her Viper blew up (or did it?) there was a bright flash of light, but, I haven't seen the SOL in the actual episode.

LOVE Battlestar. Hubby and I thought Apollo for the last Cylon - but after reading this thread I'm thinking Gaeta as well....or Dee maybe? Anyways I always call this show a 'drama set in space' ... it's so character-driven. AWESOME show.

im trying to skim through the posts so i dont get "spoiled". the reason being that i was watching an epi of BG the other night and i loved it. it was my first epi. im a virgin to BG.
anyway, how many seasons are there? didnt it start with a movie back in the eighties or something? should i watch the movie first or can i just start watching the series?
oh, and the epi i watched had some girl who had her baby taken from her by a cylon and then the cylon blew her out into space. do you know what season that one is? *i hope i didnt see something that will spoil other epis*

The re-imagined version of BSG has three seasons and a three hour miniseries, which is where you have to start if you're going to watch the whole thing.
The episode where Tory vents Cally into space is the newest episode of the series.
Yes it was a series that ran in the '70s, and was brought back starting with a miniseries that led into Season One. We are currently on the final season, Season Four, and you saw the latest episode of Season Four, it airs Friday nights in North America. It is SO good, you must go back and watch from the miniseries/Season One!
